09: Sunday
Heartbroken
"So, what we gonna do?" Eli asked as he plopped down on the couch. Andrew sat down on the floor and placed the laptop in front of him.
"We're watching LOVE, VICTOR. You wanted to watch it, right?" he replied and turned around to look at Eli.
Eli smiled and nodded.
Andrew got up to get snacks and Eli settled himself on the ground.
Once they were in a comfortable position, Andrew clicked on the first episode.
By the time third episode started they were both lying next to each other on their stomachs. They were both so engrossed in the series that they didn't notice they were so close.
Eli's phone rang and they both groaned. Andrew paused and Eli picked up.
"What?" he asked in a clearly annoyed voice.
The person on the other end was Elena. She chuckled.
"Did I interrupt you guys?" she asked and her tone suggested that she wasn't implying what Eli thought she was implying.
"Yes. We're watching a series, so tell me fast, what you want?"
"Ah nothing, I was just checking on you. I was kinda hoping that you guys were having sex, but no," she sighed dramatically, "you are watching a series."
"WHAT THE HELL??" Eli blushed and Andrew looked at him with curiosity. He wondered what the person on the phone might have said that made Eli blush like that.
"Come on, you guys should be together already. You are SO cute." she exclaimed.
"Okay I'm hanging up. Bye."
"No,no, wait." she said hastily.
"What?" Eli sighed.
"Thank Andrew for beating Tyler up by kissing him, okay? Now bye." And she hung up leaving Eli totally flustered.
"Who was it?" Andrew sat up and asked.
"Lena." Eli said and set his phone on silent.
"What did she say?"
"Nothing. She was just checking up on me." Eli gave Andrew a small smile.
"Oh? Then why are you blushing?" Andrew asked with a playful smile on his face.
"I'm not blushing." Eli lied even though he was red like a tomato. Andrew chuckled.
"Come on, tell me, what did she say?"
"She's just being stupid. She asked me to thank you for what did to Tyler."
"And that made you blush?" Andrew asked confusedly.
Eli lowered his head and looked at his hands.
"With a kiss." Eli whispered hoping that Andrew wouldn't listen but he did.
"So...um...do it." Andrew said and Eli's head shot up.
"What?" Eli asked confusedly.
"She asked you to thank me by a kiss, so thank me. Kiss me." Andrew said as he stared right into Eli's eyes and Eli stared back at him. He was trying to see if Andrew was joking.
But to his surprise, Andrew slowly leaned in while maintaining eye contact and Eli's heart started beating fast. So fast, that he was sure Andrew could hear it.
Eli stared into Andrew's eyes with confusion in his own.
Andrew pressed his lips on Eli's. Eli wondered if he was dreaming.
Andrew pulled back a little but their lips were still just an inch away.
"Why did you do that?" Eli whispered and Andrew stepped back. He looked dissapointed by Eli's question.
"I don't know. I... wanted to." Andrew stuttered and Eli pursed his lips.
"I wanted to kiss you." Andrew admitted again. Sounding a bit sure this time.
"Why would you want to kiss me?" Eli asked. His voice was low and he was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
"Maybe..." Andrew paused and glanced at Eli.
"Maybe because I am starting like you." he sounded unsure about it.
"You are not sure." Eli muttered and Andrew sighed.
"Andrew, if you haven't noticed, I like you. And by doing all this you are kind of leading me on. I know we can't be anything more than friends. And I don't want to lose a friend. Not to mention, my only friend. I know you are straight and maybe because we have been hanging out so much now is why you feel that you like me." Eli confessed and chewed the inside of his cheek.
"No, it's not that. I do have feeling for you Eli. I'm just scared, I guess. Confused maybe. I don't know. I have never ever liked a boy before and this is all so new to me." Andrew placed his palm on Eli's chin and made him look up.
"I do like you." Andrew whispered and glanced at Eli's lips.
Andrew wanted to kiss him again. So he leaned in. But Eli stopped him.
"Andrew, even if you do like me you would not want to be with me in public. I am gay and everyone at school knows it. But you? Nobody has a clue and I know how hard it is to come out. We would not be able to be together in public and I don't want that. If I am dating someone, I want people to know that he's mine." Eli confessed and stood up.
Am I ready for my whole world to change?
Andrew thought while Eli excused himself to go to the washroom.
When Eli came back he said his mother just texted that she was home. Andrew felt like Eli was making an excuse but didn't say anything. Because he had a point and Andrew needed time to think.
After Eli left, Andrew closed the laptop and walked towards the back of his house. They had a pool back then and Andrew needed a swim right now.
Andrew removed his T shirt and jumped in. As he swam, his mind played all the moments he'd shared with Eli like a movie. Deep in his heart he knew he wanted it. But his mind needed to be sure.
He smiled as he remembered how Eli was so focused on his sketch that day when he came to watch him practice.
He remembered how how Eli had blushed when he stood beside him shirtless.
He remembered how small and cute Eli is but when needed, he can become fierce.
He loved spending time with him.
He liked everything about him. His looks, behavior, his habit of eating more when he's angry, his habit of blushing almost everytime, every single thing.
Andrew stepped out of the pool and he was smiling.
He knew what he wanted.
And he wanted to be with Eli.
He wanted Eli.
Okay I'm really sorry if the kissing scene sucked.
In my defense, I'd like to say I have zero experience in kissing and I don't know how to write about it too.
But practice makes one perfect right?
So I'll keep writing more stories and more kissing scenes. :))
