Chapter 5- Milkshake

Riley's POV

I watch as Jay groans besides me. Normally he is the first one to get up, looks like I beat him today. Jay and I's relationship is like Simon and Leah from 'Love, Simon' just that I love Jayden as a brother.

"Riley go back to sleep it's only" he glances at the clock on his wall

"5:30 c'mon go back to sleep and keep that darn chips away." I look at him innocently while I hide the bag of chips beside me

"Oh don't be a cranky pants, I am hungry and I have a good feeling about today." Maybe after school I should take Jay to the gym to train with me

"Jay I'm going to get dressed if you wish to keep all your body parts intact, I suggest you get up and make breakfast." I smiled sweetly and Jay just stuffs his face in his man AKA his pillow.

"I am in an abusive relationship with a crackhead," he muttered

"I heard that," I half yelled from the closet

I went into the bathroom and did my business then I got into the shower. I love Jay's shampoo it smells so manly yet so heavenly. I washed my hair and had a bath. I wrapped myself in a fluffy blue towel and walked out.

Jayden being darling he is chose what I should wear today. It consisted of a blue dress with 'only good vibes please' written on it and blue Nike shoes. I did my makeup which only consists of a little mascara, light pink lipstick and a tad bit of highlighter and I combed my hair into a ponytail.

Now before you think I'm popular let me assure you I'm not, technically I talk to everyone but are not neccessarily classified as that. I just don't talk to any cheerleaders they've always hated me I don't know why. I dress up to look presentable not to parade. Just then Jayden decides to walk in, he was already dressed because he used the main bathroom while I was busy using his.

"Damn girl you look beautiful ,no wait cute, no pretty, no-" I burst out into fits of laughter after a moment I regained my posture.

"Why thank you my love, you are as I say too kind."

"You know it darling." he winked

"Shall we go downstairs for a cup of tea milady?" He asked in a terrible British accent while extending his arm

"Yes we shall kind sir" I smiled

We got downstairs and had Jay's famous waffles. By the time we we're done it was time to leave, we got into my car and left for school. When we arrived I parked next to a Black Buggati.

Jay and I hugged each other before we went our seperate ways

"Hey Riley could you give me a hand, I need to finish my Science project." guy from my English class asked me.

"Sure Nathan I'd be happy to help!" We went into a classroom and I began helping him to do god knows what with that project of his." We were all alone in the class so he asked me to wait here while he ran to the store for more supplies. After 5 minutes of doing absolutely nothing I walked over to his 'Rocket' and checked what's left to do.

BAD MOVE...I REPEAT BAD MOVE

I Riley Mathews just set his project on fire. Okay I know what you're thinking how did I managed doing that. Well in my defense there was a button not far from it so as people say curiosity killed the cat, I was compelled to press it. I didn't realise that a table full of chemicals was near it. I didn't see there was wires connected to the rocket so when I pressed the button it flew straight to that table and all the chemicals fell down and thus created a fire.

I did the rational thing any sane person would do in this situation and screamed when I saw the flames. Who knew I'd have such a loud voice?

Shit, what do I do? Ah ha there's a fire extinguisher in the class. I bolted towards it and got a hold of it. Right so... how does this thing work? Am I suppose to press this lever. Ugh can no one hear my cry for help? Ahh I spoke too soon just then someone came bursting through the door.

"Wade?"

"Hey are you alright?" He asked while fanning the smoke away from his face. By the time he arrived the class was filled wiith smoke.

"Yes I'm fine just help me operate this fire thingy." Wade took charge and extinguished the flames."

"Eh thanks for your help... I'm Riley." I told him. When he turned around and saw who I was its like he was stunned.

He shook his head before saying: "You're most welcome and I'm Wade.

"Hey do you want to go for a milkshake, it'll be my treat? I mean lets get out of here before we get into trouble. He said

I was hesitant at first because I hardly know him but why do I feel safe when I'm near him. He's right though , I would get into trouble if the principal catches me and I wouldn't mind a milkshake now.

"Hmm, sure let's go" He smiled

"Let's go with my car but lets leave through the back gate so we won't get caught." He said

Within seconds we ran towards Wade's car. We sped off, turns out that in the morning I parked next to his car. We didn't speak throughout the ride to Milkylane and I was thankful because I didn't know how to start the conversation. We got out of the car and walked to the entrance where Wade opened the door for me.

Wade ordered a Bar One milkshake while I ordered a Chocolate one. Before I could reach for my purse he stopped me.

"Like I said it's my treat so I'm paying." He said while smiling

We seated ourselves near a window.

"So Riley you wanna play 20 questions, we'll take turns. It'll be easier for us to get to know each other." "Alright I'll go first."

"Alright Wade, what's your age?

"18" "Oh I'm 17" I replied

"What's your favourite food?" He asked

"Pastttaaaaaaaa" He chuckled

"What do you enjoy doing mister..."

"Smith... I love spending time with my family, going out with the guys, playing video games and just having a good time. Although I enjoy doing those things I still am a bad boy." he says with a wink

"What about you?"

"Well I love to paint, sketch as well as read and I love spending time with my one and only friend Jayden.

"Well at least you have me as your new friend." He said

As time went by our milkshakes had arrived and we drank it while we got to know each other. Time flew by pretty fast, I learnt that he is a funny, romantic and cheesy guy. And I told him that I'm obsessed with werewolves and The Backstreet Boys. He told me he has a baby sister named Emily.

We were so engrossed in our conversation that we didn't see the time. Oh crap a doodle school ended 15 minutes ago.

"Wade look at the time we have to get back to school, I have to drive Jayden home." Oh my god 4 missed calls I feel so bad right now. We rushed back to the car got in and drove back to school, I called Jay to tell him my phone was off and that I'd be at school in 6 minutes.

We pulled up in the parking lot where 4 cars remained which included my own. Standing by the cars were none other than Emmette, Luke, Grayson and Jayden. When we jumped off I was bombarded with questions from Jayden.

"Riley I was worried sick, you didn't even tell me you left the school premises."He said calmly

"I'm sorry Jay its just everything was so hectic and I forgot to tell you. I'll tell you everything little later." I said and hugged him

"You should thank the stars Grayson saw me all alone at lunch and decided to give me company. He even came and checked if you came back and since then he never left my side." He said with a smile

"When school was over they saw me waiting here and decided to wait with me. According to our hypothesis you two were gone somewhere together, it makes sense because you two were the only 2 missing from school. And from what I see our hypothesis was proved correct." Jayden explained

"But how did you 'guess' that we we're together?" I asked

"Wade messaged me and told you were with him." Luke spoke up and laughed

I shot Wade a look. He looked at me and smiled sheepishly

"Well well well... I think we all deserve an explanation." Seems like Wade and I would now be questioned by 4 smirking idiots
