Chapter 36- Luke's Secret Stash

“What are the plans for today kids?” Evangelene asks

We’ve been here for just over two weeks, sometimes we go out or just chill in. I received an anonymous message. Everyone was smiling and stress free these days so I didn’t want to burden them.

You can’t hide forever sweetheart. I will find you soon.

That was the first message I got the morning we left to the aquarium.

“I’m not sure. Any ideas?” Wade asks

“We could go on a tour… or I’m out of ideas.” Grayson says defeated

The boys were discussing where we should go, I zoned out. A message popped up on my phone from an unknown number.

Told you I’d find you sooner or later angel.

I froze. I became deaf to my surroundings. My chest was tightening up and my body shook uncontrollably. After a couple minutes I came back to normal but I was face to face with a panic stricken lady.

“Dear are you okay?” An elderly lady asks me

“Y-yes I’m fine. Where am I?” I was on a hospital bed. This doesn’t make sense nothing happened to me.

“You’re in Edgewood Hospital your family is waiting outside, must I call them in?” I replied with a nod

Wade rushed to my side within seconds his eyes were red. He held my cheek for a brief second before sighing in relief.

“Thank god you’re okay.” He whispered and kissed my forehead

“W-why am I here?” I’m so confused it’s not even a joke

“It’s hard to explain but you went into a state of shock and… you’ve been in a coma for 3 days.” Jayden explains

“What-t that’s not possible.” This has to be a joke

“All that matters is that you are okay.” Wade says

I legit didn’t expect this… Wade filled the documents while the boys took me to the car. I was busy playing with the bottom of my shirt. I asked Wade to sleep for a couple hours because I could see the exhaustion in his eyes. Ofcourse he said no- why did I even ask *cue eye roll

We all freshened up and went to a diner. I knew they had questions so I explained everything.

“When we went to the aquarium I got a message from someone saying he’ll find me soon. Uhm that day I slipped into coma, I got a message saying ‘Told you I’d find you sooner or later angel’.” I sniffled

“Riley you need to understand that we’re here at your side. Despite Freds efforts we’ll protect you.” Wade says reassuringly

“Yes baby we are the macho men aka bodyguards.” Luke says and flexes. Wade raises his eyebow

“I highly doubt she needs protection she can kick our ass within a second.” Emmette laughs

“Wait imagine the perfect scenario, we are walking in this creepy pathway and we get ambushed-”

“Don’t tell me by ninjas.” Grayson starts laughing

“You mad. Well not in this story.” He mutters. We all started laughing

“Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. We get ambushed by a mafia gang-”

“OMG Mafia guys are hot!” I burst. Oh shit. All the guys turned to me and started cracking up. Wade looks at me with full amusement.

“What? If you read some books you’d know what I mean.” I chuckled

“Watch this *he whispered* But that’s reading you don’t know what the hell the person looks like.” Jayden says amused

“It’s called visualising them. With the description you automatically assume what they look like in your mind.” I snapped. What don’t mess with me or my fictional crushes

“See what I mean.” Jayden laughs

“Luke continue with your story.” Wade chuckles

“Finally, I feel loved-”

“What can I get for you guys?” the waiter asks

“OH C’MON CAN I FINISH MY STORY!” Luke cries out. I chuckled and ordered our food. Luke crossed his arm and placed his head on it

“If someone interrupts me one more time I will-”

“You will wha-” Emmette was cut off by Lukes death glare. Wade and I tried to hold back our laugh

“Anyway we ambushed by a really hot mafia gang.” He clasped his hands and mimicked a girl gushing about her dream guy. I squinted my eyes at him.

“And they threaten us and shit. Now we go all apeshit because we need to protect Riles. Next thing you know someone punches Emmette.” Luke uses hand gestures to enhance his story

“Now why do I have to get punched.” He scrunches his face up

“Because your annoying self keeps interrupting me when I’m trying to speak… So you know Riley is inquisitive.  Her short self comes out in front of all of us and stands with her arms crossed. Not saying a word and the one faulty guy decides to grab her hand. She surprises him by twisting and snapping it. He screams in pain which angers everyone so they go to grab her. And she does all these karate fighty moves. And before we can help her, they all are piled up bruised and busted.” Luke says grinning

“Damn.”

“That is actually possible she has a bad temper.” Jayden agrees

“You do realise you mentioned things about me in front of me which I can easily use against you… to bust you up?” I said smirking. Do I dare say Luke gulped? Hahhh

We all laughed when Jayden warned Wade about me. We ate our food and decided to get serious about the situation. Wade drove us to this massive building there must be at least 60 floors.

I followed him silently there was mainly men in the place. Each one we passed turned and did a small nod. If he’s in a gang I swear to god I’ll faint but in a good way if that makes sense.

We entered an office it was elegant and massive.

“Riley, Jayden this is the Smith empire. This is my family business, two years back I skipped school to train and start up this place. My dad came here couple months back to check up on it whilst I finish senior year.” He explained

“I’ll contact some people to stand guard and watch us when we out. Emmette you sort out who’s coming into the country. I want daily statistics either typed out or sent to my phone. Luke you will accompany Riley and Jayden to the gym and show them around later. Grayson you can help me  with getting stuff in order.” Wade instructs. Why must lie he looks hot right now

Wades ears turned pink so I knew my big mouth said it out aloud. He gives me a smirk and gets busy at his desk. I walked around his office looking at the family pictures on the wall and stood near the window overlooking the city. The view was mesmerising.

“YOU HAVE AN ICE-CREAM MACHINE IN YOUR OFFICE!” My head snapped to Jayden. His eyes were as wide as saucers and mine were too.

I happily skipped to the ice-cream machine, awaiting the brain freeze and sugar rush.

Before I can even touch anything Jayden stops me.

“You know once you start eating you don’t stop.” He nonchalantly says

“That’s why I got you and my man back there to look after me.” Grinning I took full charge of filling a bowl with ice cream and sprinkles

“Wade why do you have this here?” I asked while eating a big spoonful

“Luke.” That needed no explanation. He’ll annoy you until he gets what he wants

Luke bursts through the door with an alarm blaring from his phone.

“Who touched my secret stash!” He asked, eyes wide open

I was on the opposite side of the room. Jayden, Wade and Grayson pointed towards me.

I looked up guiltily but how must I know it’s a secrete thing

“In my defence I didn’t know, you should’ve put up a sign.” I confidently say and eat my last spoonful

“I did! You broke the lock and took my mini marshmallows!” He cries

“Your sign says if you can crack the code you may claim the prize. Lukey boy your password is myfood. Who’s so stupid to not crack it?” I laughed

All the boys looked around sheepishly. You’ve got to be kidding me.

“Guys you got to see this.” Emmette bursts through the door holding a laptop
