Chapter 18- I'll never leave you

"So when you come here what do you normally do?" Wade turns to me and questions

"I usually just sit here and read. But there's a small shopping centre here, we can have lunch there or something." I explain

"Well this time we shall find something to do so don't worry princess." He smiles

"Isn't it queen and not princess." I say recalling what Emily said

"Oh yeah my bad." He chuckles

"Freddy Davis is Fred's father; he's the only person from this family who likes me. I haven't heard from him in a whi-"

*Knock* *knock*

"Riley?" Freddy calls out

"Come in... Fredddyyyy! How've you been?" I hug him

"I've been good smallie, sorry I haven't called you. You know how Criselda is." He refers to his wife. I nod.

"It's okay... meet my friend Wade I brought him to keep me company." I gesture towards him

"It's nice to meet you sir." Wade says. Freddy looks at him for a moment.

"Make yourself comfortable son." He embraces Wade.

After Freddy left Wade and I spoke before we fell asleep. We had a late lunch before coming so we didn't feel like having supper.

__________next morning____________

"Riley wake up. You have to get dressed." A soft\deep voice said

"No leave me and my marshmallows." I mutter in my pillow

*chuckling*

I sat up in a shock thus causing a loud thump. I realised what I said and when I sat up I collided with Wade's forehead.

"Owwwww." I whine

"Isn't this lovely." Wade mutters

"Your forehead is so big aye." I rub my now sore forehead and whine

"Have you seen yours?" He snickers

"Shut up."

"Freddy came through earlier and said that we're having a family day." He says

"How fun." I mutter and roll my eyes

I walked into the en-suite and got changed. I used a baby blue t-shirt and black shorts, I walked back into the room and coincidently Wade and I are matching. We're dressed the same just that he's using jeans. How cliché...

"We're matching." He notices

"No shit Sherlock." I chuckle

*Knock* *Knock*

"Morning Riley, we're about to leave do you want to join us in the van or are you and Wade going to meet me there?" Freddy asks. I look at Wade and answer Freddy.

"We'll meet you there in a few minutes." I smile

After we bought sandwiches and juice for breakfast we headed for the 'family' day.

"Baseball?" I asked confused

"Guess that's the family game." We walked into the field and met everyone

"So the queen finally arrives." Blade Fred's nephew announces sarcastically

Meet 18 year old Blade Miller, the one is Fred's family who can torment me for days without getting tired. He's always hated me and found ways to get rid of me.

"At least you know who the queen is Blade." I smirk

"Since you're so pathetically late you're on my mother's side." He snarls. Freddy gives him a sharp look.

Since we were short of players Blade brought along his friends. Might I say his friends are just as creepy as I expected them to be.

The game began and it was so boring Wade and I weren't even apart of it. He sat down in the centre during the game for god knows what. I felt like I was in the way because I just stood like a statue. Blades friend kept staring at me I felt uncomfortable and Wade wasn't happy with him either.

Wade screams across the field to me, I became a hot blushing mess.

"Hey Riley! I'm not a broom but I can sweep you off of your feet." He screams and I instantly blush.

Blade scoffs and his mother Sabrina rolls her eyes and folds her arm. Everything happened so fast one minute I was busy daydreaming and doing absolutely nothing and the next I felt a blow to my head. I face planted onto the ground holding my head. I let out a sharp scream.

"RILEY!" Wade screams and runs to me.

I cry out in pain, I couldn't handle it. My eyes start to feel heavy and I couldn't hear anything within seconds later I fell unconscious.

Wade's POV

I saw a glimpse of how different Riley is being treated in this family. I want to do anything and everything in my power to take care of her especially after finding out a few things.

A few minutes ago Freddy told me about their family day and I already know Riley wouldn't like the idea of it. I rather wake her up now so she'll have plenty of time to change.

"Riley wake up. You have to get dressed." I said softly. Honestly I'm scared to wake her up because last time I got one heck of a beating.

"No leave me and my marshmallows." she muttered in her pillow. I chuckle.

Before I could move she woke up in a shock and collided with my forehead.

"Owwwww." She whined

"Isn't this lovely." I muttered annoyed. How hard is her head I'm sure I have a dent on my forehead.

"Your forehead is so big aye." She wines

"Have you seen yours?" I snicker and chuckle

"Shut up." She rolls her eyes

"Freddy came through earlier and said that we're having a family day." I say

"How fun." She mutters

When Riley went to get ready I used the main bathroom to get dressed. I used my baby blue BVD with jeans.

I walked back into our room and I looked at Riley, gosh she looks beautiful. And to my surprise we're matching. Not so subtly I see her checking me out and when she saw me looking she rolled her eyes.

After we bought breakfast we went for the family day. Blade just annoys me if I get a chance I would definitely punch him in his face. There were other guys around my age there so I wasn't too happy seeing them there especially looking at Riley. Call me possessive over someone who's not really mine, eh I don't care.

I was beyond bored I could walk from here to another country and enjoy myself rather than being here. Riley kept turning and fidgeting so I decided since there was no use of me being here. I sat down on the floor I got some weird looks but who cares?

I just sat and admired Riley and I just thought to myself how I would express my feelings to her. To be honest I'm scared of rejection, you must be thinking why me of all people? I'm just scared that I won't be good enough for her, but I shall try my best to sweep her off her feet.

I saw Riley lost in thought so I decided to mess with her. I know how easily she blushes so this should be easy.

"Hey Riley! I'm not a broom but I can sweep you off your feet." I scream. And like I predicted she starts blushing and even pouts trying to stop her smile.

I looked away and for a split second my world came crashing down. I heard a sharp scream and looked straight at Riley.

I woke up and sprinted towards her, she fell to the ground before I could catch her.

"RILEY!" I scream

I tried talking to her but she wasn't saying anything. I started panicking when I saw her close her eyes, Freddy came and tried waking her up.

"Someone call the ambulance!" I scream

"Phone before she dies then you know how her mother will go." I heard someone say, I nearly bust their face

The ambulance arrived and rushed her to the hospital I followed them in my car. I've never been so scared in my life, I came here to protect her yet I failed to do so.

I got to the hospital and ran to the receptionist to find out where they're taking her. I didn't want to leave her side but I had no choice. Freddy and his family arrived I don't know why they came it's not like they're forced to. Blade walks in and I lose that one bit of sanity left.

I grab him with a force and push him against the wall. He struggles against my hold but I grab his neck and start to squeeze. I was seething lucky we were in the hospital so if I were to break his bones help won't be far.

"I knew you did this purposely, you wanted this to happen!" I let go of him and turn around but punched him right in the gut and nose.

He hunched in pain and his father Quinton held me back. Blade just smirked and adjusted his shirt. His mother passes him a tissue for his bleeding nose.

"Sir can you refrain from causing a scene and causing a ruckus. Or I'll have to ask security to vacate you off this premises." A nurse tells me

"If you want to throw anyone out it should be him before I kill him." I said coldly

"I need someone from her family to fill the forms out. And also grant permission for the necessary check-ups/ x-rays we have to do." The nurse says

"I'm her boyfriend and I'm the only family of hers present here." I said without skipping a heartbeat

"Son you go fill the forms and go home I'll stay here with Riley." Freddy says placing his hand on my shoulder

"With much respect sir I'd feel better if I stayed here and you went home to rest." I said

The rest of his family didn't even wait they already were out of the door.

"If you need anything just phone me. Oh and I see the love you have for her in your eyes. I trust that you'll keep her happy my blessings are with you both." He smiles and pats my shoulder

"Thank you." I whisper and he leaves

I filled out forms upon forms, it wasn't ending. But I didn't mind because I want no actually need her to be okay. I didn't give a crap how much everything would cost so I signed all the papers and I filled in all the information I knew about her.

Hours went by and I was sitting and waiting for a response from the doctor. A nurse had come and informed they were busy doing x-rays and other scans. I was told Riley had a concussion and would wake up in an hour or two. The whole evening flew by before a doctor said that she was safe and stabilized

I informed Freddy about the visiting hours and went to see her. But before that her doctor had stopped me.

"I assume you're her partner?" he questions. I nod.

"You are lucky that she is okay. She will wake up anytime now. We did scans and everything needed thankfully there is no internal bleedings. We going to keep her here overnight to monitor her. To my knowledge she was hit with a baseball... it had caused a mild concussion and therefore she fell unconscious. She needs to rest and has to be taken care of she cannot be stressed at all. If you have any questions you can contact me." The doctor spoke and enlightened me on what's going on.

"Thank you so much." I shook his hand

I took a deep breath in before walking in her room. There she was lying on her hospital bed looking so peaceful. I sat in the chair next to her bed and held her hand I traced circles on it. I closed my eyes and thanked god that she'll be okay.

*soft moan*

I had my head in my hands so when I heard a soft sound my head snapped to her.

"W-wade..." she says slowly

"Shhh don't worry you're okay. We're at the hospital don't worry about anything." I ramble

She chuckles softly before holding her head.

"I-it pains so much." She cries

I wake up and in the softest most gentle way possible massage her head.

"What happened Wade? I only remembered getting hit with the ball." She asks

"I got you hospitalised and they ran tests and all on you so you'll recover soon nothing serious went wrong." I smiles softly

"Thank you for everything." She holds my hand to her cheek

"You need to rest, I'm right here so don't worry." I tell her and go to grab a spare blanket

She grabs my hand and we stare into each other's eyes for a while.

"Wade please don't leave me." She whispers and a tear slips out

"I'll never leave you." I said with so much of meaning
