77. Packs of Wolves

This chap is extremely unedited so there are lots of mistakes and no prose. I have to fix that when i go back through and make it poetic! Enjoy this child's wording for now hehe.

Nova

I nervously wrung my hands as I watched the sun set on the horozon through my bedroom window.

Zaryn linked me, told me he was on the way to get me.

The convoys will be here any moment now.. both Dark Moon and Blue Moon's unmated males and females.. plus warriors from each pack. Thank goddess we had lodges to put them all in.. there will be hundreds here..

Enough to start a war..

I couldn't get rid of this gut feeling i had that tomorrow would be worse than any of us thought.. i knew to trust my gut. It was always right.

These wolves.. all here to rejoice.. to find their mate and have a good time.. they didnt know what lie in wait. Neither conrad nor maxim told their wolves.. only the warriors. However, it will look suspicious to their packs if their warriors are coming too... hopefully none of them notice. Both Alphas planned on telling their packs in the morning.. before the mate picnic..

So they will at least get tonight to enjoy themselves.

Zaryn and I wont be able to.

The front door creaked open downstairs alerting me to Zaryn's arrival. Anxiety had returned but at least this time i have my mate to comfort me.. touching him will ease that sickening feeling. It will help me. Ease my suffering and worry.

Slipping on my heels, i headed down the stairs.. popping through to see Zaryn and my mom talking in hushed whispers by the sink while dad sat in the den on the sofa, giving Zaryn the stink eye before he glanced at me and winked.. a smirk forming on his lips.

I shook my head, laughing to myself. Dad likes Zaryn now.. but he wont let the poor guy know it. He will give him hell for all the hell ive beem through.

Thats my dad.

Zaryn peered up at me doing a double take.. his mouth falling open in surprise,  and thats the very moment i really noticed him.

Dark jeans.. fitting snugly against his ass. Shiny black dress shoes and a black button up, rolled up, exposing his muscular forearms. The tail end of his tattoos coiled down both forearms.. i found myself licking my lips.. wanting a taste of his skin.

He cleared his throat and my eyes snapped up to his. Bright blue eyes that i love so much, widened.. gazing at me intently as he roved over my form.. memorizing every detail. I noticed he was freshly shaven. His hair had even been touched up just how i like it.. long on top, short on the sides.

Goddess, he is so delicious.. i could let him-

"You look.. beautiful Nova." His deep voice cut my thoughts short and i noticed then that he was flushed.. he had registered my thoughts.

I smiled, walking up to him.. utterly entranced by his looks.. and his smell... all toned muscle wrapped in a pretty package with a handsome face. His gaze never strayed from me as a grin tilted the corners of his mouth.

"Thank you." My painted red lips pulled into a grin as well..

I dont know why I suddenly felt shy. Its happened more and more.

I wanted to impress him, so when he left earlier, i changed into a red dress with capped sleeves that hugged my curves, stopping at mid thigh.  With black wedges and a black cropped 3/4 length sleeved cardigan.  i thought it spiced it up a little.

His hand reached around to my lower back, bringing me close to him. His nose went to my neck, inhaling.. making me forget i was ever mad at him in the first place.

My dad cleared his throat at which i felt Zaryn smirk, leaning back his blue shining orbs caught mine.

I bit my lip, "you look.. really really handsome..." The sexual tension in the air was thick.. so thick my own parents could smell it and my dad growled.  Both our heads whipped to face him as he stood.. his frown doubling and gruff voice sounding out, "Save that crap for when you're alone. Show some respect Zaryn."

Rolling my eyes, "its Alpha, dad."

He harrumphed, "not in my house it isnt. Not when my pup is involved." He grumbled, going back to his reading.

Zaryn shook his head, leaning down to whisper in my ear. "Should i tell him his house is on my land?"

"I heard that boy!" Dad called out.

We both burst out laughing like teenagers as he pulled me with him toward the front door. "Bye mom." I pressed my cheek to hers and she gave Zaryn a wink. "Bye dad." I called out over my shoulder.

"Bye princess. Zaryn, have her back by midnight." His barritone grumpy voice was just for Zaryn's benefit.

I suddenly cringed.  "Um. Im staying at Zaryn's tonight...remember? The war tomorrow? He wants me with him. Mate security. You understand..." i trailed off. I didnt like having this conversation because it implied that im sleeping with him. As if they didnt know the first night i came back..

Dad nodded once. "Okay. Be careful punkin. Zaryn.. dont knock my princess up." He eyed him.

I felt myself pale, clutching onto Zaryn's arm as he laughed. "Yes sir.. i apologise ahead." He mused, rushing me out of the door as I could hear my dad roar in disbelief.

We stood on my front porch.. Zaryn smirking down at me while i gaped.  "Did you seriously just say that!?"

He shrugged, pulling a rose from the table by the front door that he had apparently laid there before he came in. He handed it to me with an easy smile, "had to ruffle him up a bit. He always gets me so well." He chuckled.

Surprised, i took the rose.. inhaling it before grinning up at him. "Thank you."

His dazzling smile never failed, his wolf puffing with pride. "You are most ravishing." Putting both hands around my back, he pulled me into his body. I could feel the bond humming between us, sending my anxiousness out the door. He stooped low, looking into my eyes.  "You are so gorgeous Nova. I hope you know im bound to be extra possesive tonight.. that dress - i can see every dip and curve of that body..." he bit his lip.

"Good thing i didnt wear panties then huh." Winking, i pressed my lips to his.  He growled, hands roaming my backside before pulling me into him deeper.. his tongue swiping against my own as i swallowed his growls.

Pulling away with a deep breath, i wiped the lipstick from his face. He glanced down at my front.. rubbing the side of my hip to see if i was telling the truth.

looking up at this Zaryn who had changed so much. He looked at me as if i were the only one in the universe yet i knew what a monster he could be when it didnt pertain to me. Ive heard but never saw. The anxiety over tomorrow dissipated once i saw him and even more so when i touched him.

Grabbing my hand in his as i held the rose in the other, he interlaced his fingers with mine.. my hand feeling small. He led me up my driveway and down the dirt road toward the packhouse where I could see headlights from a trail of SUV's in the distance.

"How is everything with our little one?" He reached over, grazing fingertips against my abdomen.

I felt a slight sensation of butterflies. "Everything is fine I guess."

"After all this is over, we need to make an appointment with Doc. And you need to tell your parents.. might want to add that you're going to move in with me an assume the Luna role.. that's... if you want to now. I hope you want to." He added lightly as we walked.

Nodding my head, "I will... "

He paused, "to which one?"

Turning to face him, i shrugged.  "All of the above?"

An ear splitting grin formed across hos features as he bent down to kiss my forehead. "Thank you."

He took my hand, leading me to the front driveway where the other pack officials stood. My parents were coming too.. dad needed to be here to greet the packs as well but they were lagging because as usual, mom was bringing food to the barbecue.

We were having a barbecue tonight in honor of the two packs but tomorrow was the mate picnic. Many wolves would find their mates tonight and the others tomorrow.. if tomorrow didnt turn out to be too catastrophic.

With the armed warriors we had now, surely we were to come out of this smelling like roses.

We stood, myself in front of Zaryn, as the Luna is always in front of her Alpha.. out of respect for her. His hands splayed against my hips as we stood beside the other beta and gamma. Blake never had a gamma but Zaryn saw it fit.

Dad roamed up behind us, flaking Zaryns right, just in time as the headlights from the throng of SUV's came barreling down the dirt road ahead. There would have to be at least forty vehicles. Plenty of space for them as well.

"Pup, ya look great." Dad winked from beside me.

"Thanks dad."

I could smell the meats cooking from the backyard.. music echoing .. wolves laughing.. it would be a good night at least.

The first two vehicles rolled up just as Maxim made his way to stand beside us.. Gabriel nowhere in sight.

Nova i want you to enjoy yourself tonight.  Dont worry about tomorrow okay? Have fun with Eden and just enjoy yourself.

I smiled up at Zaryn who had just mind linked me. I was enjoying this mind link thing. It only took being close to him for this to happen.. now to be an official Luna.. I have to submit to him in wolf form and skin while we say the vows of mates. Since i cant shift for a while.. it will have to be done in skin.

I will try Zaryn.  Im worried.. but ill try. Grace and i are friends too now. We made ammends.

There was a pause through the bond, his hands on my hips tightening slightly.

Im not going to lie... thats... weird.

I felt my chest vibrate with my own chuckle as the Suv's door opened, revealing one of Maxim's betas and his gamma followed by another general. They were all burly and bulky.. I remember them from my stay.

Zaryn held out his arm as they each gripped his forearm. "Welcome to Crescent Moon. We are glad to have you with us." Zaryn's deep voice sent shivers down my spine.

The men wore grins at the prospect of finding their mates tonight..  i said my hellos to each of them before Maxim greeted them, his own pack members.

One by one, SUV'S pulled up and out stepped eight wolves from each vehicle.. all from Dark Moon, being greeted and welcomed by both Zaryn and I before making their way to Maxim who ushered them all into the backyard.

I was feeling excited. Where was Conrad's pack?

As soon as it was thought, More SUV'S piled in the field behind the others, Conrad, Grace, Eden, Damon and Alexa stepping out of the first one and Eden's eyes locked with mine immediately as she screamed, bursting out into a run towards me.

I met her half way and we flung ourselves at each other in an embrace. She hugged the life out of me as i did her.

Careful, sweetheart.  The pup.

Zaryn reminded me through the link. Taking a step back i gazed at Eden, noting her smiling face..her long blonde hair in its usual curls down her back, but for the first time in ... ever... she was wearing something ... not her. A longsleeved thin long grey shirt with a pair of black leggings and black booties.

"Ive missed you so much Eden!" My face lit up in happiness. "You look good.. different style i see."

She laughed a brilliant laugh, hugging me once more. "My male likes me in things like this what can I say" she whispered before we both broke out in a giggling fit.

"Well i can't wait to meet him."

Grace reached us, grinning ear to ear. I almost didnt recognize her. Her hair was still blonde but had warmer lowlights in it... shorter, to her shoulders in layers. She had put on healthy weight.. filling out the right spots. She looked strong.  Very strong. The mate mark on her neck was still there.. prominent. I snatched her in a hug, "hey girl. I missed you too!" I whispered in her ear before pulling back.

"I missed you too Nova." Her eyes trailed down to my wrist. "I see you are wearing the bracelet." She beamed.

"Yep! Never take it off!" Her eyes darted to Zaryn befor glancing around. "Is .. Nic here?"

Shaking my head, "No. I told him to stay back while you guys were here. He lives with blake across the lake now. He will only come if you request him to..." i rubbed her shoulders in assurance.

Her lips rose slightly.  "I think i will have to see him eventually.  I think im ready to confront that mate of mine."

"They are all dogs." Eden sneered before glancing down at the locket i wore around my neck. Her brow rose, "looks like someone is getting cozy with her own mutt though." She sniffed the air around me. "Smells like it too." She winked.

I hid my blush as Damon and Alexa finally made their way over and i greeted them each with big hugs and apologies for not keeping in touch.  I breifly explained everything that has happened up until the past few days.. leaving out the steamy bits. Alexa was excited to see if her mate would be here while Damon boasted about being a contestant for Conrad's Beta fight.

Then i mentioned how he was bested by my wolf which earned me a glare.

"Well hello little warrior." A deep voice called out.

I whipped around to see Conrad standing there and immediately launched myself at him.  A possesive growl rang out through the air behind me from Zaryn.

Careful Nova. Dont make me jealous deliberately.  My wolf is unsettled as it is. You are MINE!

With that thought i quickly let go of him and Conrad chuckled.  "So pretty boy has you back in his corner huh? Well goodluck little warrior. You look great." He beamed, ruffling my hair.

Scoffing, "Conraaaad! Dont mess up my hair!" I whined, trying to fix the long locks as he chuckled at my expense.

I felt Zaryn's presence come up from behind me. His warmth was unmistakable and traveled all over my body. An arm went around my waist as he held an arm out for Conrad. "Conrad. Welcome to Crescent moon. I hope you and your pack enjoy themselves." Zaryn was being politr thank goddess.

"Holy sh!t, Zaryn!? Is that you under those mountains of muscles!?" Eden gaped as she finally noticed him. Conrad growled a bit but she never looked his way. If i didnt know any better, id say he was jealous!

Zaryn laughed, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah. Still me, ede."

She rose a brow. "Well i see you're more approachable now. My wolf doesn't feel like you are going to snap us in half anymore. Im taking it that Nova is responsible for that hmm?" She nudged his side playfully and he growled, narrowing his eyes at her.

"What?" She asked innocently, backing away.

"Only Nova can touch me. Sorry. Its the wolf." He sighed, bringing me close into him.. smelling my neck."

Conrad smiled a broad smile as he pulled Eden away,  "Thank you for having us, X. Nice name trade by the way." He winked. "It seems my pupil here has matured into a Luna! Take care of her man. She's a special wolf." Conrad gave Zaryn a knowing look.. saying he knew of my being the moon's warrior.

Zaryn rumbled. "Ofcourse she is and shes all mine."

He held up his hands in surrender as laughter filled the air.

Eden skirted up even closer to Conrad, hand on his shoulder, whispering in his ear. It seemed all too intimate... her eyes caught mine and i rose a brow at her at which she cleared her throat. "Um.. Nova? ..... this... is my boyfriend."

I swear my jaw dropped, mouth hanging open like a fish as my eyes bugged. "C-Con con is your boyfriend!?" I exclaimed a little too loudly in surprise.

Alexa and Damon had long ago disappeared around the house so it was just Conrad, Grace, Eden, Zaryn and myself.

"Con con?" Zaryn growled, tightening his hold on me as the girls giggled.

Grace beamed at Conrad proudly.  "Nova and dad were best friends once." She explained my nickname. "But yeah Nova .. Eden is dating dad now. Its like having another sister! They are really happy.." she grinned at me, showing her approval.

How would that work? Alphas felt the need to mark ther mates.. it was like an urge they couldn't shake. I glanced at Eden quizzically. "Are you giving up your gift?"

She pased, pushing her long blonde hair behin her shoulder with a cringe "well... not exactly.  We will talk about it later. Lets go party!" She took my hand and Grace's, pulling us away from the males as they stood back laughing.

So.. you were "best friends" with him?

Zaryn and his insecurities.

Yes Zaryn i was. He helped me. As a coach.

The link was silent after that and the girls took me with them to the backyard which was nearly the size of a footbal feild... there were two bonfires tonight... tables full of food.. drinks. Music. Dancing. Some wolves were in a corner surrounding a male who had brought a guitar. The cool air was wonderful and even though i knew tomorrow would be devastating, i felt relaxed from the atmosphere surrounding us.

Dark moon and Blue moon were getting along well with Crescent moon... there were wolves already finding their mates. Happy faces from those who did.

I noticed some Dark Moon females were sniffing Our males.. realizing they were mates. I laughed to myself. Those females were trained warriors and could give our males a run for their money but they would be good additions.

"So!" Eden smirked as she turned to face me once she had successfully drug both Grace and myself to the bar area, her bright green eyes dancing with amusement. "How have you and Zaryn been doing?" She wiggled her eyebrows, glancing down at my stomach. "I had a vision, luna." A smirk formed on her lips to which my eyes widened.

"You know?" I paled.

"We both know." Grace smiled. "She didn't tell me. I can smell it on you. My senses have increased because im a tracker now." A huge grin burst through.

I felt my cheeks heat. I wasnt ready to tell everyone but these females were friends of mine. "I am.. but you cant say anything yet."

They both squealed, jumping up and down, causing wolves to stop and stare.. one of them being Zaryn who smiled knowingly.

Eden wrapped me in a hug, "im so happy for you!!"

"Me too." Grace hugged around the both of us. "Nova... im really happy you got your mate.." she whispered as they both pulled away. I stared into her genuine warm chocolate eyes.. a slight spattering of freckles on her cheeks from the sun. "I'll never be able to tell you how sorry i am about the past." Grace chewed her lip, peering down.

Smiling softly, i rubbed her back. "Its all in the past now. Forgive and forget. We made ammends and started fresh. No more speaking of it again okay? Its old news." Grace beamed at me in thanks.

I glanced between the two of them. "I need to apologise to the both of you.." my eyes rose to the sky seeing how the moon was shining brightly and i felt as if she were shining on me. "Im sorry i pushed away from you Eden. When i left for Conrads.. i should have stayed in touch. You needed me and i should have been there. Im a horribe friend.. and Grace, i should have contacted you once i went to dark moon but.. i dont know guys." I sighed heavily, "i think i have issues with closeness after the thing with Zaryn happened. Im getting better.. but i even cut my own family off.. i guess i just needed time but im sorry i wast there for either of you." My eyes became blurry and i knew it was from the hormones.

They both "awwd" and wrapped me in another hug. "Hey its okay." Eden soothed my fur. My wolf felt content.  Even with Grace here around Zaryn, she didnt feel threatened. "Honey i know you had it rough. I dont blame you. You needed the time to yourself.." she pressed her cheek to mine.

"Yeah, Nova." Grace piped up. "I dont blame you either. We had only just become friends anyways but.. you saved my life. In more ways than one and for that i will always be indebted to you." Her words were whispered as moisture collected in thise chocolate orbs, remembering back to the night i saved her.

Laughing lightly, i wiped my eyes as they moved away, Eden grabbing two cups off the table. "Here." She handed Grace one with a margarita inside, and one for herself before grabbing a bottle of water and slipping it in my hand with a wink. "Heres to friendship.. from this day onward, may we stay close and let the past be bygones.. focusing on the future now." Eden stated proudly, holding her glass up as did Grace. I popped the cap off my water, grinning as i tapped my bottle against their solo cups and we drank.

It felt good to be around friends. Around other females that i could trust. I didnt trust Grace once upon a time but now that i know the real her.. i do. My gaze lingered between them, landing on Eden. "So. Whats the deal with you and Conrad hmmmm?" I wiggled my own brows suggestively causing a blush to form on her cheeks but she shrugged it off.

"We just... sort of hit it off i guess?" Her lips turned up at the corners... not the red tint she was so famous for, but just a clear gloss. It was strange to see her out of her norm.

"What she means..." Grace interrupted, "is that when she came here, the little minx she is, had a raging libido and seeing as she likes power and so does dad.. they were hooking up like bunnies!" Her voice carried with laughter.  Eden swatted her in che chest with a playful growl before she met my gaze, rolling her ehes.

"Yeah kay so we started out that way.. BUT! We really liked spending time together! So... i sort of... moved into his room because he asked me..." her smile was tight.. unsure. "He told me about the two of you.. how close you were. How he liked you as something more than you liked him... that he.." she glanced around before leaning in, "kissed you." It was whispered.

My eyes widened. Goddess i hope that didnt come out this weekend.. i wanted to tell him after this was all over. Not while there could be a war.

Shrugging it off, i didnt want to admit that when i heard about them, i felt a pang of something. Not jealousy, no. But they kept it from me and it hurt.  She must have saw it on my face and quickly added,

"Thats why i didnt tell you right away. I know you were close to him.. i know he was someonw you relied on and i didnt want you to be upset..." she bit her lip.

Laughing at my own silliness, i shook my head. "Im happy for you Ede. But... are you going to let him mark you?"

Edens long blonde hair blew back in the breeze as she shook her head, her eyes holding a sadness. "He helped me a lot when i lost the pup.. like he helped you. I was sad and thats when we began spending time together.. but i let him know im an oracle and i wanna keep my gift. So we agreed to just be together.. see where it leads us. No rush." She shrugged.  "But isnt he just so fine!!!" Her squeal of excitement made me smile. "And soooo good in bed!"

"Eden gross!" Grace swatted at ger, frowning. "Thats my dad!"

Eden shrugged, looking to the sky as she took a sip.

We continued the evening talking about everything that had happened with each of us. I told them about how my stay at Dark Moon was. How i fought daily and broke most of my body but became a warrior deemed fit to wear the tattoo of a southern warrior, which was a high regard when it came to Dark moon. Also, I found out that Grace had began training hard after i left. Conrad worked with her like he did me... but instead of blocking her emotions with pain like i did, he let her feel them.. he talked with her.. treated her like a real daughter and she became a strong warrior.  She even has the symbol.  She had been the one to call Eden personally.. asking her to come live with them. Eden had accepted and was there soon after.. pregnant. I dont know how Grace managed to do that but she said her wolf was less agressive since she was able to fight.  That without Nic around, she felt a sort of motherly instinct toward eden.  Grace had been the one to help Eden through it all until Conrad got involved and soon after when she lost the pup, the both of them were there for her. I felt slight pain knowing that i should have been there as well but at least she had someone. I even asked about Rasheda, Conrad's on again off again flame.. apparently she met a male and fell in love.. moving to his pack, which made Eden happy. She was the first to express her feelings for Conrad which came as a surprise to me. Eden never makes the first move but she told me how Conrad would distance himself after a night together and seemed to isolate himself...

Which i knew was my fault but i didnt say anything.

But once she told him how she felt, he was happy... never letting her out of his sight. He also liked her power. She could withstand his own.. like a female alpha only shes an oracle. Power goes good with power.

Grace talked a little about her feelings about Nic. She said she had been worried about him.. she could feel some of his emotions like i barelt did with Zaryn but its so light you think its your own. She came to terms with Eden being knocked up. Said that it was harder for her because Nic chose to sleep with Eden while he knew of Grace. Zaryn didn't- he was sucked into it by the heat.

"Grace. What does your wolf want you to do?" Raising a brow, i leaned toward her as she eden and i sat on tree stumps near the lake. We had been here almost an hour. Talking.

Grace thought for a moment.. concentrating. "She wants me to talk to him. I do have to remember he is my mate.. but he left me locked in a damn cabin and screwed her willingly. Its hard." She frowned at the grass.

"Ladies." Zaryn's soothing deep voice sounded from behind me and we all craned our necks to look up at him.

"Holy hell, Z. I still cant believe that's you." Eden smirked, eyeing him in disbelief.

Zaryn chuckled.

"Yea you barely even look like your old self anymore." Grace spoke her thoughts.

He glanced at her then cleared his throat, eyes on me.. "sweetheart.. i want to introduce you to some wolves. Duty calls my Luna!" He held his hand out which i took as i got up from the stump.

He instantly wrapped his arms around my waist as i flashed an apologetic smile to my friends. "Sorry guys. But hey we have all weekend to catch up right!?"

Grace and Eden exchanged a look before nodding with a blank face. "Right.  Go do your thing!" Eden plastered a fake smile on her face.

I assume Conrad told them about tomorrow....

Zaryn began leading me away from the girls, his hand resting on my lower back. My very very lower back which could be qualified as my ass as we walked. "Did you have fun catching up?" He asked, smiling down at me. Zaryn was still a giant compared to me even in my heels. I keep noticing his muscles are getting bigger as well.

When a male's mate is pregnant... she isnt the only one who secretes extra hormones. He does too. Lots of testosterone.. which equals muscles, agression, and a WHOLE lot of lust for said mate.

"I did." My smile was bright.  He leaned down, pecking my lips as he guided me toward A large table filled with wolves.. some i knew like Maxim, Conrad, Gabriel with Penelope halfway in his lap, dad, our other beta Gerald, and Damon who had a female from Dark Moon by his side.

I noticed Penelope had gotten a lot bigger.. her usually glowing self was pale though. As if she had been extremely sick.

"Its time for us to eat." He whispered in my ear, kissing mt neck as my confusion cleared.

As the hosting pack, its cordial to share food with the visiting Alphas betas and gammas at the main table. It shows that you are being civil.

Zaryn pulled my chair out to his left, where the Luna always sits. I slipped in, smiling up at him as he sat in his seat at the head, my dad directly across from me.

The Alpha gets the head of course.

Then the Beta gets the right because he is the right hand of the Alpha. The Luna sits on the left because of the heart. She guards the heart. Also because the left hand... that is where a wedding ring goes. That vein that leads straight to the heart... its symbolic, all of it.

I glanced down at my left hand.. soon there would be a ring on my finger. Wolves dont get married in human status.. our marks say it all. But the Alpha couple has to. For taxing purposes. Despite the fact we have our own land, the government wants their cut. That's where it gets political and though we have wolves as government councilman, we still have to pay something.. thats why the land needs to be put in both our names and we have to be married to do so.

Being Alpha and Luna was hard work and i havent even seen the first of it. I still need to go through our ceremony we never had but the pack already looks to me as their Luna. Its time for me to act like it more often.

"You okay?" Zaryn's words snapped me out of my thoughts and i sent him a breif smile.

"Yeah just thinking about all the to do's we have to do soon."

We can do all those things in due time. Its our pack. We can do things how ans when we want.

He mind linked me, and it made me feel warm inside the way he said, our pack.

"Everyone, i have an announcement to make before we start eating!" Maxim stood just as Eden slipped in beside Conrad and Grace beside her.

Our eyes were trained on the hulk sized Alpha wearing his usual black short sleeved tshirt.. his crystal blue eyes shining. "Twenty of my males have found their females in both packs already! And ten of my females have found theirs! Tomorrow we shall see who goes where but i think thats a celebration on its own. What do you think Alpha X?" He chuckled, raising his glass to him.

Zaryh stood, grinning as he clinked his glass with his. "To the finding of mates!" Everyone at our table and the surrounding tables broke out in a cheer. Zaryn and Maxim both sat down and i watched carefully as Maxim's eyes landed on Eden who was whispering something into Conrad's ear. They were in an intimate position and Maxim glared at that..

Did he ginuinely like Eden?

Conrad stood then, "Fifteen of my males have found mates between the packs as well! And twenty females!"

Another round of cheers as Zaryn stood once more, clinking his glass with Conrads.  I was proud of him for not being an ass to Conrad just because he is the one that helped me leave...

I left out the part about him wanting me to be his Luna...

As Zaryn sat back down, his hand went to my thigh under the table, eyes on me.

Look at how Maxim is watching eden and conrad. Does he really like her?

I sent my words through the bond just as my mom scrambled up to the table and took her seat by dad. I figured she had been making sure the food was all perfect.

"Hi baby!" She beamed.

"Hey mom."

My eyes were focused on zaryn though.. who was intently watching Maxim.

He does like her. He has that look in his eyes when he's about to say or do something.. be right back.

Zaryn got up and went over to Maxim, leaning into him, he whispered a few words at which Maxim glared at him for but finally gave a curt nod and turned back around.

Once Zaryn sat back in his place, he linked with me.

I asked him to remember the promise he made.. told him i saw how he looked at eden. Told him they arr together and dont start the war. He will be good.

I nodded to myself, relief sweeping through me.

Wolves were now setting out all of the food on the buffet table from the grill.. lining it up with delicious meats and caseroles and grilled vegetables.  Pies.. cakes.. everything you could want. One by one we all rose from our seats and lined up at the table.. Zaryn first, followed by me and Dad.

Of course, The Alpha always makes his plate first. He always takes what he wants first and foremost. Then its the Luna followed by the beta and their mates. But tonight, Zaryn started by fixing a plate and handing it to me.. first.

That meant one thing in wolf society.

That the Luna was expecting or the Alpha had seriously fúcked up.

I prayed to the moon no one thought it was the former.

Once he handed the plate to me, his eyes flashed, letting me know his wolf was present too. The wolf coming out wasn't always a bad thing. With mates it was more of a 'we see you and acknowledge you' type of thing. He was giving me the first of his food.

That was special.

There were whistles and awws from the other wolves and i waited with a blush on my cheeks and plate in hand as he made one for himself.

I will always feed you and my pup before myself, love.

He linked me. My smile only seemed to get bigger.

I liked to call him X every now and then for the simple fact that when i was a pup, i spelled his name that way.. he was always so patient with me though, even being older.

We all took our places back at the table and waited for Zaryn to take the first bite..  but once again he surprised the packs by taking a large forkful of smoked pork and brought it to my lips, signalling i was to take the first bite before anyone else could eat. The sound of a wolf digging into his plate with a fork could be heard down the table and Zaryn let out a roar towards the offending wolf who just so happened to be damon.

"You dont eat until Alpha X eats, Boy! We are guests on his land!" Conrad bellowed. Zaryn rumbled low at the disrespect of the entire situation but Damon dropped his fork looking at us with wide eyes and Zaryn put the fork back to my lips.  Without a thought, i took it, slipping my lips around the delicious savory meat and pulling away.. chewing slowly as my mouth watered from the perfect blend of seasonings and juices.

An Alpha will feed his female first usually when expecting.. another symbolic thing he has done tonight that will eventually blow our cover.. but an Alpha doesnt really need a reason to feed his female first.. with all these packs here, it could just be out of respect for me.

Dad gazed at Zaryn with pride for treating me with such respect until those eyes suddenly squinted and landed on me... analyzing me.

Smiking half heartedly, i began shoveling food in my mouth and my mom and dad seemed to be mind linking.

Sh!t. Zaryn i think dad knows! Or at least suspects. No more feeding me until we tell them. I do appreciate it though.

I could feel him chuckle, his hand back on my thigh.

Okay sweetheart.  But im not going to stop feeding my pup so get used to it. They need to know soon.

I sighed, lets get the sonogram First okay?

Everyone was enjoying themselves tonight. Hundreds of wolves from three packs.. mingling. Socializing. One of the most feared packs here in our presence and so far everything was good. They were happy. Even Grace. Although she kept looking out towards the lake.. a determination set on her features. She would smell the air every now and again.

But Gabriel.. he looked like he could eat Conrad alive right now. Disgust on his face as he watched Eden and Conrad's interactions.. Eden would giggle at something he would say then he would feed her from his fork.. smiling down at her.

"So you can treat this whore of a female with dignity but my poor sister had to suffer and watch as you bedded every female including my other sister, Anita? Cilla was your mate!!!!" Gabriel roared, slamming his fists down on the table with a growl.

Eden gaped at him and Conrad's eyes flashed dangerously, his wolf coming forth with his own growl. Zaryn tensed beside me and Maxim leaned into Gabriel.

"Gabriel im warning you." Maxim growled. "Dont start something i will have to finish you for. We made a pact.  Not on X's land."

Conrad swallowed, washing down his food with a drink as he kept his eyes on Gabriel, wiping his mouth. His eyes were glowing, "Do not ever refer to this female in such a way ever again Gabriel. Im warning you. I let all your comments slide but you wont talk about her that way." He growled angrily.

I was about to get up but the hand on my thigh tightened,

Wait. Lets see how this plays out.

Zaryn was calm.

Conrad continued, "I did horrible by my mate and i live every day in regret. Ive lived every day in regret for the last two decades! I didnt want to do those things trust me. Maximus made me do those things.. hanging my title over my head. Only when i was as heartless as he was would he give me what was mine. I loved Cilla. Do you hear me? I loved your sister! It killed me to do what i did and yes i could have stood up to him. But Alpha Maxim knows what happens to family that stood up to Maximus!" He hissed out.

Gabriel glared, "Yet you let this she wolf sit by your side and feed her when she isnt even marked by you.. my sister was your own mate and you left her alone to screw other females!" He growled.

Conrad narrowed his eyes. "Im not a pup anymore.  Im older and im lonely. I mourn her everyday. I care for her pup, raised her as my own even though she was from an affair Cilla had with my own Beta! I love her like my own!"

"Ha! Is that why you disowned her amd left her here for Blake to dispose of as he saw fit?"

Every single wolf was watching.. waiting to see what would happen between these two.

Conrad growled, "I was wrong! I came back for her and saved her didnt i? I was hurt. But thats not for you to question! You were here while she was locked away and never did a damn thing and you are her uncle!!!!"

Grace peered over at Gabriel curiously. I guess she never thought of him as being her uncle. A slight frown etched onto her forhead.

Gabriel laughed dryly. "Well it wasn't my place its not my land and im no Alpha. You are. But boy, i bet you just loved having Nova at your pack.  She does afterall, look just like my sister... doesnt she?" He smirked, looking down at the table at me.

A warning growl rang out from Zaryn, his eyes flashing.. the wolf not liking the implications.

"Thats it! Gabriel! Take your mate and leave the table. NOW!" Maxim stood, towering over his general as he shout his Alpha orders.

Gabriek complied, but not before growling at Maxim which earned him a hard right hook to the face from his Alpha. Gabriel stumbled back as Maxim shouted, "Dont ever growl at me again, wolf.  Now get!" Maxim was a giant wall of muscled testosterone.. who wouldn't think twice about showing someone their place.

Gabriel stormed off, snatching Penelope's hand and pulled her behind him towards the front of the pack house.

Our eyes were wide but i felt Zaryn relax as Maxim's eyes met his. "Alpha, on behalf of my general, i apologise for his behavior on your land. It wont happen again. And any one of my pack members who steps out of line this weekend will have to deal with me." He bellowed before taking his seat.

Zaryn nodded at him in thanks... but i could feel tension in the bond.

You look like his dead mate? Grace's mother?

He questioned me and my eyes widened.

I guess

I shrugged it off as if I really wasnt sure.  He studied me a moment with a scrutinizing gaze before letting it go and we watched the exchange between Maxim and Conrad.

"Alpha C, i apologize for his behavior." Maxim gruffly said.

Conrad nodded curtly. "I appreciate that, Alpha Maxim."

Though they are cousins, in front of wolves, its respectful to use titles. In front of each other and mates, they go by first name basis.

I felt relieved this was not going to be the war that i had been informed about..

Maxim peered over at Eden with a flirty smirk, "I apologize milady, my general will be punished for calling you such an awful name."

She blushed slightly, her eyes lingering on his a moment too long. "Its okay really. Thank you though." She smiled.

Eden definitely liked Maxim... and Conrad. But she is apparently with Conrad... goddess i hope she doesnt do something stupid this weekend...

I love Eden. I do. And im not one to slut shame but... Eden is as easy as making pudding.  But for a wolf who can never have a mate, i dont think i would blame her.

Wolves can't get stds either which is a plus..

But in our pack, females were to have their honor for their males. It wasnt unheard of for females to seek out males from other packs but once they found their mates, those mates would be weary to claim them so soon.. they would make them wait which publicly shamed the female.. letting all the wolves know she was without honor if she went a long time without being marked. She would be looked down upon. Same with males. If a female found her male to be without his honor, she would make him wait to claim her.. which drove the wolf insane.

Occasionally, males from our pack who ended up with impure females would want names of the predessors the female had been intimate with and then would set out to challenge them, forcing them to submit to him which helped the wolf. For the most part though, we never had that problem, as the males and females both were to wait for their Mates. Blake punished those who had sex inside the pack. If they wanted it bad enough, they had to go somehwere else to get it.

However, some males from other packs wouldn't just challenge the males their mate has slept with for submission... they would fight to kill.

Once he killed them, would he be able to bond with his mate. That wasnt all packs though.  Dark moons definitely.  Not ours.

Blue Moon's pack was more free.. which would be a problem if any males from dark moon were mated to blue moon females. Conrad's pack did what they wanted in the sex department... maybe that would be the start of the war? Because surely Conrad wouldnt take lightly to his males being killed by Dark Moon males because their mates slept with those blue moon members...

Dark Moon was hypocritical.  The males could sleep around.. but the females were supposed to remain pure. Maximus' ways were passed on to his son. Though Maxim changed the pack a lot for the better.. he kept that rule.

Pig headed if you asked me.

I think mates should save themselves for each other yes. But if one does something with another, it shouldnt be acknowledged for others to see.. that should be between the pair..

Females were seen as just the Alpha's mate in some packs while in others they were seen as second in command... the Alpha's Queen.

The rest of the night went smoothly without disaster though i kept seeing Maxim watch Eden like a hawk. She wasn't his mate.. so why was he so obsessed with her? Didn't he have one out there somewhere?

Wolves were dancing with their newly found mates.. some having discussions.. lots of flirting. Females from Dark Moon were the best warriors and thought it fun to challenge their males to an arm wresting match.

Everyone was in good spirits once Gabriel left.

I sat in Zaryn's lap as we watched the wolves migle.. Conrad and Eden were dancing together and laughing which brought a smile to my face. He needed someone to make him smile. What better person than Eden? I just hope she doesnt break his heart...

Grace was busy with her female friends who apparently didnt find their mates but they had a good time nonetheless, taking shots and dancing. Ive never seen her so open and free before..

I watched as Conrad kissed eden on the cheek before whispering in her ear and she nodded as they walked away hand in hand.

"Have you enjoyed yourself tonight?" Zaryn's barritone voice roused me from my thoughts as he swept my hair over my shoulder, pressing a kiss to my skin. I longed for his touches which sent spikes of pleasure through me all the way to my core.

Leaning against his chest, i tilted my face upward, smiling at him. "I have actually. I was worried at first.. but in glad everyone is having fun. Now im starting to worry about tomorrow." Sighing, i cuddled into him, inhaling his scent as my nose skimmed his neck.

With a kiss to my forehead, his arms tightened around me.. "Im about to have a meeting with Conrad and Maxim about that.. dont worry sweetheart.  Everything will work out for the best. Promise." He kissed me once more.

I hoped it would.

The presence of Alpha power and two familiar scents came from behind me; i sighed longingly, not wanting to move but turned my head to acknowledge the two Alpha's who stood before us with slight smirks.

Rolling my eyes, i got off of Zaryn's lap, pressing my lips to his. "Alright I'll leave you to it. I love you. Find me when you're done so we can go home." My lips tugged upward in a sly smirk as Zaryn's brows rose followed by a grin.

Home. I like the sound of that. Im getting you naked tonight.

He bit his lip.

Laughing, i turned to the two Alphas. "You boys take care of my male. I want him back in an hour. Preferably not wasted." I smirked.

"Yes ma'am." Maxim winked.

Conrad just shook his head. "You got it Nov."

Sauntering away towards Eden, i put a little extra swing in my hips and felt Zaryn's gaze all over my ass, hips and thighs.

I dont think you have been a good boy .. you can get me naked once we win this war.

I mind linked him, turning to wink as i did. By the way, you should see what im wearing beneath this.

I could see his eyes flash from where i stood..excitement clear on his face but i laughed lightly, turning toward the direction i had been walking and ran right into my mom who wrapped me up in her arms. My eyes widened.

"Mom? What are you doing!? You're squeezing me to death!"

She quickly let go, holding the tops of my arms as she gazed lovingly at me. "Honey... i know you're pregnant." She beamed.

I must have looked like someone just told me that bees stopped making honey, which is my favortie thing, because not a second later she was trying to calm me, rubbing my shoulders with a panicked expression.

"Dont be freaked out honey! We arent upset.  We're happy for you! Im hurt you didnt want to tell me but i understand." She tilted her head, her green eyes shining with unshed tears. "My pup is having a pup. Nova.. you dont know how happy we are for you.. you finally have your mate.. he's an Alpha which means he will always be able to provide for you and your wolf.. he will protect you.. you're the luna!!! And now im going to have a grandpup! Baby, we couldn't be happier as long as you're happy." She smiled through those tears which began to fall.

I let out a breath i never knew inwas holding.  "Did you say we? Dad knows too!?"

I knew my dad liked Zaryn secretly but i was still newly 18 and Zaryn was already 22. We were still pups in his eyes even though they were my age when mom got pregnant with Nic..

Mom's knowing smile held me in place. "He is the one who noticed.  You forget he has a nose of a beta wolf. He smelled a change on you.. followed by Zaryn aologising beforehand.. the little remark he said before you left tonight.  Plus the serving you first and giving you the first bite coupled with how close he has kept you.. eyes always zeroing in on your belly.. its obvious sweetheart. " she giggled the most girly giggle.

Relenting, i smiled and nodded. "Yes. Im pregnant. "

She broke out in a squeal just as my dad came up to us, taking her in his arms. His forrest green eyes scrutinized me. "Well little one.. I can't say I'm ecstatic with how Zaryn has taken things with you.. but we are very happy for you." He beamed.

They both brought me into them, hugging me gently.  Cheeks pressed against mine.

"Well.." i shifted uncomfortably once we moved away. I don't like talking about things in reference to sex in front of my parents.  Its too weird! Im still immature in that way. "We wanted to wait... until i have the first sonogram to tell you two. Plus we wanted to have the wedding and bonding slash Luna ceremony even though we did things a little bass ackwards..." i chewed my lip nervously.

Dad nodded. "That would have been the right way. Plus the littke shit didnt ask me for your hand." He grumbled to which i laughed.  My father calling his own Alpha a little sh!t.

Zaryn may be the Alpha, but in dads eyes he will always be my mate first.

"Dad.. theres still time for that. Besides.. he mentioned wanting to have a one on one with you."

Dad faultered, his expression turning lax. "He did eh? Well.. that's more like it. I need the chance to grill him anyway."

Mom scoffed, "oh Jack!" She swatted him playfully.

Zaryn, i sort of just told my dad you wanted to have a one on one with him. I froze! They know about the pup.. hes a little upset we did things backwards but they are happy for us and happy about the pup so please add that to your to do list for me?

He never really said anything about a one on one... i just sort of volunteered him out of panic.

Okay sweetheart.  Not a problem. I knew he would know...

I could hear the humor in his tone through the bond as he planned things out with the Alphas by his side only yards away.

Which reminded me..

"Um. Mom? Dad?" I peered at them nervously. Dad knows about the war tomorrow but doesnt know the who where when or why. Only the what.

"What is it punkin?" Dad frowned, the tiny smile lines making themselves known as he held my mom in his arms.

"I need to tell you something... both of you."

The night had progressed and some wolves could still be heard out in the backyard, howling at the full moon.

I laughed, hearing the drunken mutts as I brushed my long dark waves out with my fingers.

It had gotten late and I was tired so i linked Zaryn that i was ready to go home. He was still having the discussion with Conrad and Maxim.. it had been well over an hour and boy were they going to hear about it tomorrow..

Zaryn insisted my dad and Gerald, the other beta, escort me to his old family home. Which they did so gladly. My dad was even impressed that Zaryn demanded it.

I wondered why he had been staying in his parents old home as of late... the house he grew up in. It was a large two story home.. big enough for a family of 5. When i first came here, he had been staying in the Alpha's quarters in the pack house.. but with me being pregnant and present in his life.. i realised he wanted us to have our privacy. He knew my discomfort of 'doing things' together while we stayed at the pack house. It was horrible the day after i healed from our heated session, seeing wolves grin at me knowingly.. whispers and giggles.. the maids even had to fix his room..

Afterwards females even stared at him a few moments too long - knowing what he was capable of.

Bad memories.

Once i was safely inside the house, Dad kissed me goodnight and made sure i locked the door behind me. This house was the most secure you could get. Top of the line everything.. bulletproof glass. Silver locks that were impenetrable.. there was no way anyone could get in this home if no one wanted them to.. and dad knew that which is why he had no qualms over me staying here with war in our midst..

I had told my parents everything.. from the dream i had to the part where Deacon warned me about the war and the tatoo the moon had given me. Dad was speechless and mom was panicking. But most of all they looked at me as if i were some sort of anomaly which i didnt like.. i wanted to just be Nova to them.

Pride could be tasted off my dads scent.. he was proud of me. His pup.  The one female the world to have this honor..

But i didnt even know what my duty was... all that i was told was that the moon chose me to deliver truths and because of that i had to suffer but i was being rewarded for my suffering. What is the moon up to?

Dad immediately went to Zaryn after our conversation.. ready to help plan for the what ifs. Both Conrad and Maxim knew that anything could happen to where war could break loose and they both pledged that of one of their members did something out of line... started a fight... that they would handle them. No one wanted bloodshed on what was to be a happy day.

The huge house felt so lonely with just myself here. I knew now why Zaryn had stayed at the pack house before. With pups running around it would be so much more delightful..

I wonder what our pup will look like.

It was hard to get used to the idea that i was infact pregnant... but slowly its beginning to sink in. My wolf is only present in my mind now.. still giving me nudges of what she wants to eat... what she wants me to smell see or do.. and her emotions which as of late have been so happy.

I smiled to myself as i finished getting ready for bed in the ensuite bathroom of Zaryn's childhood bedroom, which could be mistaken for a master bedroom. Biting my lip, i stared at my reflection.

I was glowing with the increased hormones pumping through me.. the extra blood beginning to course.. i breifly wondered if indeed the moon would give Zaryn and I a long happy life. Tomorrow was sinking into my bones... giving me anxiety.

I decided then and there that i would spend this night with Zaryn..

That we would take this time to love one another..

Frankly, with all the extra estrogen, i was already excited just thinking about him bending me over..

With my decision made, i quickly discarded my dress and heels... rummaging through my suitcase of clothes that my mom had packed up for me last minute. Knowing her... there would be something sexy in here. I just knew it.

My fingers fumbled over different materials until they touched something lacy. I smiled triumphantly, pulling out a garter belt and stockings that had price tags on them with the matching bra. All black with cream netting on the garter belt.

It screamed sexy.

I'll have to remember to thank her. Even though this was extremely strange to consider my own mom packing this. Well.. strange for me. Not for her. This is her norm.

Pulling the garments out, my eyes landed on some silk and i tugged it out of the bag. It was a new red silk robe that would come to mid thigh..

Perfect.

Making my way to the bathroom, i felt the corners of my lips pull up into a grin. I took my panties and bra off and decided on a quick shower, leaving my hair up so i wouldnt mess it up.

Once dry and lotioned, I slipped on the black lace bra with rhinestones in the center woth matching lace thongs. I slipped on the garter belt and my stockings, carefully snapping the lace at the tops of the stockings to the garter. I found a pair of black stillettos i had left here the other day and decided they would be much sexier than the wedges i wore earlier this evening.

Once i was fully dressed, i inspected myself in the mirror.

My makeup still looked good.. my hair fell in loose waves down to my waist. My skin glowed and i was still all curves and toned muscle, no baby bump yet. My stomach was flat and toned.  i had to admit i looked sexy in this lingerie..

He wont be able to control himself...

Applying some red lipstick, i knew it would be smeared off the moment his mouth landed on mine but there was something sexy to me about smeared lipstick over two mouths that couldn't stay away from each other.  My thighs were already clenching together.. my excitment for my mate to take me how he wanted to..

Smirking to myself, i sent images to Zaryn through the mind link... of me in extremely tantilizing positions with the both of us bare of any clothing..

He would come running...

Donning the red silk robe, i tied it securely around my waist and sat on the bed.. waiting patiently for the door to slam shut.

Aaaaand .. there it is.

Giggling, i stood and causally waited for him, leaning against the wall as i heard him bounding up the stairs in a hurry..

The things a woman can do to a man with a little imagery...

And Penelope is looking sickly.. her pregnancy at 38 is taking a toll on her. Poor Gabe. Shes about maybe... what? 4 mos now?

I know im horrible for not knowinf this so if any of my awesome readers remember the time frame she was impregnated let me know! Its a crucial detail.

I love Nova's parents i gotta say lmao. Her mom is that embarassing mom who isnt agraid to talk sex and her dad is that shotgun 'im gonna shoot you if you hurt  my baby' kind of dad. He doesnt care that X is Alpha.  He is just Nova's mate in his eyes but he respects him for being a good alpha.

We see zaryn is changing for the better. Even ede comments how she can be around him now!! That's Nova's doing ;)

I spent all freaking day on this chap. I hope you like it!!
