Staring down at Nova's sleeping form, my heart seemed to swell. She was curled into me.. whimpering in her sleep. Her flesh becoming hot to the touch.

Tendrils of her heat wafted into the air, coiling around my skin as my own flesh set ablaze.. calling my animal side to the surface to please her and take the pain away.

Three days.

Its been three days and we have been locked away in my old family home. I've been taking her on every available surface in this house.. pressing our combined scents into everything. The house smelled like Nova and I along with our arousal scent.

I wanted to move her in here with me. Away from the prying ears of the pack. If she would allow me...

She stirred in her sleep.. green eyes peering up at me with flushed cheeks and red lips. Her heat hadnt subsided quite yet but it was almost finished.

This would be the last day.

I could tell.. the way her scent was having less of an effect on how it paralyzed my brain from thinking..

And i have thought upon waking up this morning.

Thought about the fact im 99% sure shes coming out of this pregnant. I searched everywhere for condoms. Even made phone calls that first day but no one here had any..

Liars.

They wanted me to impregnate their Luna. I just know it.

"Good morning sleepy head. I made you breakfast." I kissed her rosy lips to which she smiled against me.

"Mmmm. Thank you.. im starving."

I had made sure she ate during her heat.. making up for the last heat we shared together.. the one where i royally fúcked up..

Yeah. This heat, i was able to do what I've always wanted to for her. Take care of her. In more ways than one.

"Sit up sweetheart." I reached behind me as she positioned herself up onto the now clean bed.. i had thrown everything in the wash last night so that she would wake up in sheets that werent covered in our... union.

I watched as her eyes lit up, seeing the bacon, eggs, gravy and biscuits with a glass of orange juice. She peered up at me with a deeper blush to her cheeks. "Thank you for taking care of me."

My smile broadened. "Anytime."

Watching her eat was such a turn on. I could watch her eat forever.

Taking the fork out of her hand despite her protest, i shoveled some eggs onto the prongs, guiding it to her lips. She couldn't hide that easy smile ive become reacquainted with as she opened wide.. lips wrapping around the fork as it slid from her mouth clean.

That's something i have yet to experience.. but this is about her. Not me.

She ate the rest of her meal with me feeding her. Something that was very symbolic among wolves. It showed how much you cared for a female.. that they meant something to you.

Ill never forget the time she watched me feeding Grace the second week she was here. I wasn't thinking.. i was trying to make Grace feel comfortable in a new place.. let her know i would be in my pups life. Then i felt Nova's eyes watching me so i glanced above at her bedroom window.. seeing her tear stained face broke my heart and i immediately stopped feeding Grace but Nova had already dropped the curtain back down.

That was a bad memory. Im making good ones now.

She set the finished plate aside on the bedside table, mischievous eyes twinking as they examined my inked body.. I could feel her gaze on me.. wherever she looked, sent electrical currenty through me. Her eyes swept over my torso.. settling on my hardened member that was visible against the material of my boxer briefs. She licked her lips hungrily.. her heat making itself known to us once again.

My dįck was raw but whatever she wanted from me i would give it to her. Three days and ive made love to her over twenty times.. its been constant.

Brows rising, i finally realised what she wanted to do so I wasted no time in lifting my hips so she could pull my underwear off of me.. my hardened length springing out, tall proud and strong.

Her hand, much smaller and softer than mine, gripped around my length as i let out a strangled noise. She seemed excited to want to try this 'something new'.

Morning came quickly, our days being cooped up in our love nest were gone. Her heat had finished, as i could smell it in her skin.

"Morning" her voice rasped with her first words of the day as she blinked the sleep away, studying my face.

"You're really handsome you know. Yet you look so different. So much more dominant than the boy i played house with in the tree house last year." Her smile was always breath taking.

Leaning down, i kissed her lips. "You are more womanly yourself. All hips ass and breasts.. with those toned muscles and that gorgeous face? You are going to cause me to kill anyone who even looks at you." I growled for emphasis as i snatched her to me in a hug, pressing our naked bodies together.

It felt like we were how we used to be. But i know it was just from the heat. We still had things we needed to talk about. Things she needed to know. But im glad i could make this special for her.. service her needs the way a male should for his female.

Im not complaining in the slightest.

She nuzzled me, lips going to my ear to nibble before a light gasp left her. "Zaryn. Condoms. We didn't use any." Her heart rate began to pick up rapidly as she leaned away. A frantic look in her eyes.

I knew she would do this..

My head fell to her shoulder as i inwardly cringed, "Im sorry. I tried. I called unmated males and mated males. There were none on the property. Well.. none that anyone would confess to having." I frowned to myself. "But Nova i tried. I could have been more prepared but your heat just came out of nowhere."

I tried to reason with her.

Her eyes were wide, fearful. I kissed her cheek, hugging her to me. "Its okay. Im here for you regardless of what happens. You are my mate." My deep voice usually soothed her but right now she was throwing the covers off her.. jumping out of my arms and off the bed.. pacing.. completely naked.

"Hey. Hey. Dont freak out sweethe-"

"Dont tell me to not freak out!" She snapped, turning on me.. eyes blazing. "You wanted this. Didn't you? Im not ready for this Zaryn! Im not! You... you did though didnt you." Her eyes watered as she pointed her finger at me accusingly.

My frown deepened. "Excuse me?" I rose out of the bed.

"You heard me!" She came chest to chest with me, the both of us naked.. my erection not making anything easier. "Y-you lost one pup so now you decided to have another didnt you? Using it as a tactic so I'll have to accept the Luna position now.. sneaky snkeay." She scrunched her perfect face in dusgust.

Anger pulsed through me from her accusations and i pulled her into me, my hands holding her face so she was forced to look me in the eyes. Taking deep breaths, i tried to calm myself. "Nova don't you fúcķing even go there! How dare you even suggest that! I know we arent ready for that yet.. but we are mates. I wanted to be here for you this time. I just couldn't find any condoms and you know as well as i do that once we start, pulling out is sort of out of my head because im not actually thinking!"

Its true. We may not have snapped like the first heat.. well aside from those two times the wolves came out to play. And we had been more coherent this time.. but when I was in her.. all i could think about was her pleasure and mine.

Tears ran down her cheeks and it made my heart crumble seeing her this way. "I.. I need to go." She sniffled, moving my hands from her face, grabbing a clean tshirt from my closet along with her now laundered yoga pants she wore days ago.

My pulse quickened, "Nova! Stop!" I grabbed her wrist lightly but she sent me a scowl, jerking away from me.

"Just let me be Zaryn! I need time!" She began pulling clothes on.. i began to panic.

My eyes were wild as i watched her.. i couldn't let her leave. "No!" It was growled, my lip raised as i jerked her front to mine, looking into her pain filled features. "You always run away Nova. You promised no more of that! This time you stay and you talk to me. We are in this together whether you like it or not so stop being a brat and running away from me. You're eighteen now. Its time to start acting like an adult." I managed to grit out without yelling at her.

Her green eyes were watery as they gazed up into mine before her features crumbled.. tears spilling, rolling fat and heavy. "Im scared."

My heart broke as i wrapped my arms around her, holding her to me.. "shhh. I know.. i know. Me too but its going to be okay. I promise.."

"How can you be so sure." She sniffled against my chest.

"Because... its me and you. Granted, it is a little soon for all this but, i will be by your side." I whispered in her hair, kissing the top of her head.

Her sobs were muffled as she cried into me even harder. I couldn't take this. Her being sad.. it just wasnt right. Nothing was right when she wasnt smiling.

Pulling away, she wiped her eyes. "Can I just... i just really need to think.. im sorry i just.. i want to be by myself."

Will she ever get used to me? Shes my key to sanity..

"Okay." I whispered, letting her go.

she struggled to get her clothes on and ran down the stairs, leaving me standing there feeling like my heart had been run over only to be backed over again.

I didnt do this on purpose.

Sighing heavily, i ran my hands through my hair. Just once i wish things would just go smoothly. Just once.

I heard the front door shut, signaling she had left.. probably to go to her parents house.

I guess its a good time for me to see the damage that's been done. She said she wouldn't leave again. I can give her some time to herself..

Once dressed, i ran out the door and kept running.. all the way to the pack house. It was still breakfast.

Walking in the dining hall, everyone stopped what they were doing... eyes going to me with fear. I forgot to mention... a male with a pregnant female is even more violent than a male whose female is in heat...

They were all afraid.. wondering if i was expecting now.

Wondering if their Luna was having a pup.

"X! Over here." Maxim waved me over to where he and Gabriel were sitting across from Jack, my place at the head empty.

Walking over to the table, my brows creased. I forgot Gabriel had been here. "Hey. When did you get here, Gabriel?" i took my seat, helping myself to breakfast. Jack was sitting on my right... a broad smirk on his face. He minded his own business for the most part.

Maxim chuckled. "You mean.. while you've been pinned up?" He winked. "I called Gabriel here the morning of the challenges. I wanted to stay for a little while but he had some time sensitive documents i forgot to take care of. Would've told you... but you were M.I.A that morning." His brows wiggled. "By the way. You only lost ten males. And one pathetic female." He continued eating his bacon while glancing around every now and then..

Jack grunted, "Could've showered first Zaryn. You smell like my little girl." He grumbled, eyeing me with looks that could kill.

We both spent our last session in the shower last night so i know her arousal wasnt on me.. but her scent was. Sighing, i ignored his comment.. my eyes landing on Gabriel.

"Gabe." My voice was deep with testosterone still pulsing through me. "Hows everything been going for you?"

He shot me a proud smile and a wink. "Great. Wonderful actually." He chuckled. "My mate is having a pup. A boy. At least it will keep her hands busy so she wont be throwing things at me all day." He shook his head, exasperated.

Jack chuckled slightly, amused as he ate.

Gabriel growled, "oy, what the hell is so funny shıt stain?"

Jack narrowed his eyes at Gabriel and Maxim both before continuing his meal, not bothering to reply.

As i began eating, wolves began whispering from other tables.. talk about Nic dominating a few males from the training feild days ago. Which reminded me. "How the hell did Nic get out of the clinic that day in the training feild?"

Jack decided this question was worthy of his response. He smirked, "Actually i let him go."

This caught my attention as i turned my body towards him, "what? How did you know that Nova would-"

"My mate." He answered without having me finish. "She could smell the change in Nova's scent that morning. She got a little worried and had me check on her. I came to the training feild in time to see you two walking off and three males step forward. I knew the rest would turn on you... Gabriel had just gotten here with Penelope.. I told him and Alpha Maxim to go to the feild and wait. Thats when i went to get Nic. I knew with his agressive state, he would be good in the fight." He shrugged, looking back down to his plate.

Pride swelled inside me. This was good leadership. I couldn't think of a better Beta to have by my side. "Good thinking, Beta Jack."

I felt eyes on me from around the room and my wolf peered out.. a growl tumbling. "Does anyone have something to say?" I bellowed, standing up to my full height. All the wolves in the dining hall turned back to their food.. shoulders hunched.. shaking. I had a feeling i knew what this was about.

"The wolves that died a few days ago were killed in challenges! As you all know, its your own choice to fight to the death in a challenge. My choice just so happens to be death, as is my mates." Jack peered up in surprise.

"None of you have reason to be afraid. Unless you challenge me for whats mine. Are we clear?"

Mumbles and nods filled the room, shoulders relaxing from my words. I guess i need to do damage control.. the families of the wolves that were killed would be mourning still.. and Jazz.. her mother is probably angry as the rest of them...

Clearing my throat, i took my seat again as Maxim side glanced me with a sly smirk. "So.... how was the heat? Heard you couldn't find any condoms."

Jack sputtered, choking on his food as a rumble vibrated from him.. his eyes narrowing on Maxim who fought to hide his laughter. Jack slammed his hands on the table, catching our attention.. a feirce look in his eyes. "Thats my baby girl you're referring about.. her.. heat.. is none of your business!"

Gabriel chuckled, "But what if you are a grandpa? Dont ya wanna know?"

Jack paused, his eyes shifting to me for a moment as they widened in realisation. "S'that true? Am i gonna have a grandpup?" He was struggling with himself.. unsure of what to feel.

I didnt want to talk about this with my mates father.. this is too awkward.. "Uh. You might. Don't know yet... but.. its a 90% possibility. Nova isn't too happy with me right now." A frown made its way to my forehead as i shoveled my eggs around on my plate. I didnt like her being upset with me.

Jack burst with genuine laughter of joy, clapping my shoulder with his heavy hand, "Im gonna be a grandpa! Hey. Dont worry X. She will come around.. give her time." He grinned at me before his features turned serious.. "but if you ever hurt her again, Alpha or not, I'll kick your ass." Green eyes glared at me.

Rolling my eyes, "Jack, if i hurt her again, you have my permission to hurt me any way you like but thats not going to happen. I always said i wish i knew Nova was mine sooner.. none of this would have happened. But the moon is in charge. Not me." I cleared my throat, easing the tension.

Jack sat back in his seat thinking while Maxim and Gabriel smirked over at me. "Congrats." Maxim grinned.

I shook my head, "We dont even know yet. Besides.. im sure Nova doesn't want anyone talking about this. So shut up. The both of you." I glowered, shoving my plate away from me.

"Oh." Jack leaned in, "I forgot to tell you. Conrad is coming into pack lands soon with his unmated wolves."

"What!?" My eyes widened as i jerked to stare at his somber expression. "For what reason?"

His brow rose. "Um.. its time for the mate pic nic."

The mate picnic... i forgot all about it.

Every year, we have a gathering with one of our allying packs. This year was Conrads turn. We take turns between hosting, this year is our turn. A mate picnic is when a pack comes and brings all of their unmated wolves, female and male alike. Theu sniff around, looking for their mate. If a male finds his female from another pack, that female goes with the male to his pack. Its always been like that.

I ran a hand through my already disheveled hair, "This is just great. When is it." My Alpha tone was back.

"Tomorrow they arrive. Picnic is the next day." Jack smirked. He loved causing me torment at every turn I've come to realise.

The beast inside me felt uneasy.. especially after the challenges and my mate going into heat. Being with her calmed me down but at the same time, made my wolf and I feel.. protective. If she is pregnant, I'm going to turn into an overly protective animal.. literally. My wolf is going to want to take over and guard Nova. I didnt with Grace because she wasn't my mate.

"Is Grace and Eden coming too i assume?" I voiced my thoughts.

Jack nodded and Maxim perked up slightly, his eyes lightening a bit. " i heard she miscarried.. Eden..."

"Yeah." I watched as a ghost of a smile appeared and left as soon as it had. Poor guy. Eden isn't the 'stick with em' type..

Maxim turned to me, "How about we make it a huge party? I get my unmateds here... we all benefit from that.."

As i mulled it over in my head, Jack cleared his throat. "Bad idea. Gabriel and Conrad don't get along."

"Because Conrad made my sister kill herself from the way he treated her!" Gabriel snapped, glaring at Jack.

Jack huffed in response, shaking his head. "Dont you think the guy is sorry about it? He has had to live this whole time thinking about that. Hell, he was raised by Maximus. Even Maxim can attest to that savagery."

Maxim nodded, "Dad had a knack for holding Conrads title over his head. But still. We can get along for one night. My males need their mates. It makes a wolf go crazy when they cant seem to find their mates.." he had that far away look he gets whenever mates are brought up..

I silently wondered what had happened to him. If he had really never met his mate or if something else happened entirely.

Standing from my seat, my gaze drifted between the three wolves next to me. "I'll allow it. Bring them. Jack, let the cook know we are going to have more wolves. Tell the guest concierge as well so she can ready the rooms. How many do you have, Maxim?"

"Just forty. Twenty five males and fifteen females." He grinned up at me, his broad shoulders spreading outward. He was an Alpha.. excited for the prospect his wolves had on finding their mates.

"Alright." I gave him a nod. "We'll have the mate picnic. I have some business to handle.. we can go over the fine details later." I moved away from my chair as Jack grumbled. But his eyes would meet mine every now and then.. the idea of being a grandpa in his head.

I left the dining hall, wanting to talk to Nova.. but i knew she wouldnt want to see me just yet. The day after tomorrow was the picnic. Once the wolves all got here tomorrow, they would want to settle in and relax and i would be on edge. This would be a weekend long event. Maybe the biggest even we've ever had.

I just hoped everyone acted with maturity.

I breifly wondered where Nic was.. if he was staying at his parents now or if he was back at the clinic on lock down. I should have asked Jack.. but secretly my mind was on Nova the entire time.. she could be pregnant. I could be a dad...

Heading upstairs to my room at the pack house, i walked in and was instantly met with Nova's scent mixed with mine. That night we spent together left my room in disarray yet her scent clung to everything she touched.

It was a good feeling to have her back...

Her accusations.. accusing me of purposely trying to impregnate her.. that wasnt at all true. I really did try to prevent it. Its not just all on me.. she could have been prepared too. Why is it always the males responsibility?

She hadn't even decided if she had even wanted me to help her through her heat.. we were just sort of thrown in it. But once it starts, theres no separating a mated pair. The moment i told her i couldn't find any condoms.. there was no going back at that moment.. the wolves pressed us to mate. I just simply wanted to alert her to the situation.

Being a wolf has its down sides...

But being able to have a mate.. a gift from the moon. Someone that was made perfectly for you.. it took precedent over every bad thing that came forth with being a wolf.

Part of me hopes shes not pregnant.. for her sake. But the rest of me is excited that she might be. We may be young to outsider eyes.. but as a wolf, well, wolves mate as soon as they find their mates. Theres no courting.. we find them.. we mark them.. we mate them. Some wolves who find their mates at seventeen after a shift? The lucky ones? They usually mark and wait until they are considered an adult at eighteen before they spend a heat together because almost always, a female is pregnant afterwards.

It would blow my mind if she wasnt pregnant if im being honest. I spent a lot of time inside her this past week..

A lot.

I just hope she would let me talk to her soon.. to have a moment between she and I. We really needed to get to that point.

I cant keep doing this back and forth thing anymore. Its always hot or cold..

Im tired of it and the wolf is becoming restless.

A knock at mt door sounded, jolting me out of my thoughts.

"Come in." I could smell who it was.. just the person i didn't want to see.

The door pulled open, revealing crystaline blue eyes that held pain and joy all at once.

"Hello my son." She gave me a gentle smile.

Dun dun dun

Well that was a doosie.

Nic nic nic... he's trying to fight his beast back down.

Obviously penelope is back with Gabe and Maxim is lusting after eden.

Nova is freaking the f out.

Wonder what is gonna go down when conrad shows up with his wolves and the rest of dark moons unmated wolves show up as well!?

Grace will be coming too..
