Nova

Everything froze..

Quiet.. so quiet you could hear blood pumping through our veins.

I was in shock to say the least. Eden layed slumped over on to the breakfast nook in her cabin. Her last words: "i think I've been p.."

"Poisoned?" I asked myself in a soft voice as i stared at her limp form, my eyes widened .. my body not allowing myself to react.. my feet glued to one spot , lips parted.. trembling.

There's something i was supposed to do... something ....

The doctor!!!!

Getting my bearings back, my heart racing double time, i ran to Eden's purse that lie on her queen sized zebra printed bed, digging out her cell phone. Clicking through her contacts, my hands shaking, breath coming out in pants, i found Doc's number and dialed..

My eyes frantically searched her form.. unconscious yet still breathing.. i could hear the steady strum of her heartbeating slowly, letting me know she was there.

This isnt the time to go into shock. Do something..

"Hello?" The other side of the line finaly picked up after a moment..

I began pacing, my words coming out too quickly. "Doc quick!!! Eden has been poisoned i think. She's had a seizure.. foaming from her mouth before she colapsed. Come quickly! Send someone! Anyone!!" I yelled out hysterically.

He seemed to understand me even though i couldn't even understand myself and hung up, apparently getting into his truck with his medical supplies. He wouldn't have time to transport her.

Fast as lightning, i ran back to Eden, pulling her up right and picking her up .. her weight and height much more than my petite frame as i hoisted her in my arms, carryng her to her bed to lie her down flat. Her pale skin seemed to be translucent.. aside from the dark circles under her eyes.

I thought of wiping her face from the sunstance that came from her mouth but Doc needed to see everything.. to know.

"Eden" i took her hand in mine gingery, worry as well as anxiety filling me. She hadn't stopped breathing yet which was good. But her heart was weak. I began shaking . My hands tremoring..

Without warning, her door burst open revealing Old Doc who rushed in, a seriousness about his older balding form. Alpha Blake and my Dad strode in right behind him.. serious faces.

All business when facing life or death.

"Nova you should leave. If it is poison, we wont know the source. It could be any one of the items here." Alpha Blake commanded with the authority only an alpha can. My wolf had me bowing my head down in submission this time.

"Nova." It was my Dad..

Peering up at him... feeling lost.. along with more heart ache, he strode forward, taking me hand and leading me away from Eden's unconscious body as my head kept whipping back  back with worry.

"Honey you need to get out of here. I dont wamt anything happening to you either." An urgency underlying his worry.

I pled up at him with my eyes, his tall bulky form blurred from the unshed tears in my eyes. "Dad please make sure she's okay." My heart hung in a dark abyss by a single strand..

His light green eyes looked down at me with understanding, the kind that tells me how well he knows me. "Doc is going to save her. Now go. I'll send word as soon as she's stable and back at Doc's." His voice gentle as he kissed my forhead, walking me out onto the old wooden porch.

Sighing, i wrapped my arms around him tightly.. pieces of my shattered heart quivering in my chest. I felt scared.. for my friend.. and for my dad.. "I love you." I clutched him to me, not wanting to let him go.

"I love you more baby girl."

My eyes opened, peering under his shoulder.. the cabin further down staring me in the face.

Grace's cabin she now shared with the healer.

My gaze narrowed as i focused on that cabin..thoughts swimming in my head from what Eden had said..

Be careful.. she loves Grace like a daughter.

Two coal eyes stared back at me through the curtain.. two enraged soulless eyes that made my hackles raise, a deep growl emitting from my chest.

"Angel, you alright?" Dad pulled away to study me, and i realized then that he needed to know about this danger as well.

Eden couldnt go to Doc's unless she was guarded. It had to be Anita.. the witch.

she's coming for me.

I found myself antsy.. everything setting me on edge as I waited impatiently for Eden's results. I told my dad everything Eden had warned me of. Alpha Blake knew now as well.. i could see the worry lines of sleepless nights affecting him now like the rest of us.

The sun had disappeared from the sky, huge dark clouds with bellies full, hung gloomily overhead. Just like my mood, overcast.

I had no one to go to right now and that was fine. Zaryn abandoned me.. Decaon isnt Deacon anymore considering his new found infstuation with me, my brother was stalking my arch nemesis and Eden was...

The hard scowl set on my festures didnt go unnoticed by my peers as I passed them through the pack house yard.. they all stayed out of my way, sending me looks of worry.. as if i was out to wreak havoc.

As soon as i reached the path that led up the mountain to my special spot, i chucked my heels off near a tree and made the journey up hill, so many things on my mind..

Why was my life turning out this way? Over a guy.. my mate. Everything bad happened because of him. This was all his fault!!

Passing through the pines , I reached the small clearing and felt myself slowly relax. I was literally loosing my mind with so much built up emotions.. piling on.. stacking up like a deck of cards. How many until I fall?

The last emotion after sorrow then rage and numbness was.. well i wasnt sure. It could either be more anger or something that would break me to insanity..

I paused as i reached the clearing.. familiar scents reaching me throughthe slight breeze. Being cautious, i ducked down, listening as i let my wolf decipher if there were anything here of a threat.

Then i heard it...

"Im sorry. I'm just so confused.. i dont know where my life is heading anymore." It was Zaryn... his voice soft and painful.

"I know.. and im sorry because its all my fault. I know you dont want to be with me. I do. But for our pups sake... we should try. Nova doesn't want you, you said it yourself." And that would be Grace.

I rose from my crouched position, my eyes wideneing and narrowing in anger. My wolf surfaced slightly.. claws digging into my palm as i stalked out of my hidden barrier to witness the both of them leaning in, Zaryn's lips brushing hers slightly in a chaste kiss.

My shattered heart quivered, my wolf whining at his.

How dare he bring her here.. to my place. Our place. Mine his and Deacons as pups... i found this place.

Hearing my approach, both their heads turned to face me, Grace's arm now in a sling as the bones have mostly healed in one day.. her eyes widened as soon as they laid their muddy brown orbs on me.

Shifting my glare to Zaryn, who had already heard the whine from my wolf due to the bond, guilt was written in those sad blue eyes that my wolf wanted to comfort.. i wouldn't let that happen ever..

"What are you doing here!" It came out a low guttural and feral like sound.. my wolf didnt like her territory being encroached by the likes of these two fakes.

Zaryn stood slowly, eyes watching me carefully as he helped Grace up from the ground by the stream carefully. She hid behind him slightly, body shaking.. terrified. She wasn't too terrified to do what she did at breakfast the other day..

"She happened upon me here, thinking. Im sorry. I know its your spot. We will leave." Zaryn's guilt was eating him alive. He wanted to talk to me but it was too late for that. I held my wolf in all I could muster, letting Grace scurry past me in haste as i growled lowly at her.. Zaryn next.. watching me as he passed, sadness seeping from him with a mixture of guilt.

"Nova... I... what you saw..."

"No!" I snapped at him with my teeth. "You dont get to talk to me. You dont get to do anything! You know you've been tricked and you fall for it because you're no real alpha wolf. Not really!" I was angry.. seething at him. My skin side taunting his wolf. "I cant wait until this mark disappears.. i want no trace of you left on me. Your beloved little unmated tainted she wolf's demon witch of an aunt just tried to kill Eden... yet your here.. putting your mouth on her. You're disgusting. Sick. You're a gullible little boy!" I spat, shoving my face in his.

The wolf was mad inside me.. she didn't like her mate touching another female intimately. She wanted a fight. Grace was out of sight.. far back down to the pack house by now as i watched Zaryn's eyes shift to a dark almost black, his wolf surfacing.. canines extending.

"Take that back Nova. This is what you wanted. If she tricked me il find out but shes the one who wants me right now. Not you." He growled low as we circled around one another, both our wolves partially out.. claws.. teeth.

He didn't like his Alpha blood being questioned.

"I never would tell you to be with that whore who spreads her legs so easily.. one who uses tricks to get what she wants. Her aunt is a fucking healer who uses medicines and potions. If you haven't figured out why you didnt smell her heat then you are even dumber than you look. " i roared at him, not being able to controly wolf as she shifted through my skin, fur piercing out of pores, bones crackling throigh the air as his wolf did the same.

In the next moment, we were both crouched down, snarling at each other.. his wolf telling mine to back down but she wouldnt. This was her territory up here.. and he made a bond with her. If he wanted to put his lips elsewhere he would reap the consequences.

Hackles raised, ears laid back on her head as her tail thumped in anger, she lunged, attacking him but he was quick. He stood on his hind legs, meeting her attack as teeth snapped in every angle between them until finally she caught him on the nose with a canine going right across it, slicing it.

His wolf whimpered slightly before pouncing on my retreating form.. not in fear but so she could attack again. He snarled, his massive Grey wolf knocking her backwards, the crack of her landing on the rocky surface echoing throughout the air as she whimpered. His teeth were around our neck in an instant..  not to cause harm.. but to show dominance.. wanting her submission.

The wolves were not our skin sides. They had different feelings and reactions. She thrashed as his teeth sunk a little into her skin, growls coming from him as he attempted to calm her. After tiring out.. knowing she couldnt push her mate off of her, she let out a huff in defeat, lying still .. his growls muffling down. She angled her neck upward, showing her submission at which i cringed at inwardly. How dare she?!

He let us go, licking the blood from out neck.. pressing his nose against the mark on our shoulder junction, inhaling deeply.

Something inside my wolf snapped.. as if she cut me off from interference. Her mind switched over.. she began to feel territorial, instinct taking over to claim what's rightfully hers..

Zaryn's unsuspecting wolf was still nose deep in her fur when her anger surged forward once more. She lunged upwards... sinking her teeth hard and deep into his neck...

Completing the bond of both our wolf sides...

I screamed inside our mind at her.. but she didn't listen to me.. she was filling up with pleasure.. it radiated inside of her as she sensed his own pleasure and bliss.. being marked makes both animals, and skins for that matter... feel utter blissful pleasure as if it is the only thing in the world.

I could feel his wolf's wants as he couls feel mine now.. drunk on pleasure, he stumbled, rolling onto the ground half ontop of her , deep rumbles purring from his chest.

His wolf wanted this so badly. Mine did too.

I did not.

Once the clouded visions wore off and i could truly focus, i shifted back instantaneously, throwing her back in my mind as i crouched down, naked and wide eyed.. watching as he slowly snapped his bones back in place.. skin showing.

Crouched with his head down, he slowly lifted his eyes up, peering at me in surprise as I stared at him in horror. I didn't want this!!! My mouth hung open and i felt myself begin to hyperventilate.. my breathing becoming shallow as tears filled my eyes..  "no no no no no!" My words kept coming out.

Realisation hit him like a ton of bricks as he reached me, hands gripping my shoulders, staring into my eyes frantically. "Nova. Nova calm down! Its not your fault,  i know that. I know you dont want this. Please. Calm down." He attempted to soothe me but it was a lost cause... the electric currents seemed intensified when his skin touched mine, making me feel light headed.

Scooping my naked body up in his strong muscled and tanned arms as if i weighed nothing, he carried me into the forrest, a safe haven away from the entrance that I came from.. That buzzing sensation from his skin on mine driving me insane.

My mind convulsed inside my head...spinning around in curcles.. black dots speckling the beautiful dark overcast clouds before they became black.

I let the darkness pull me under.. welcoming it.
