Chapter 5: Lights, Camera, Friendship!!

A few days later,

At the movie theater:

(The theater lobby was bustling with people during the interval.

The aroma of popcorn and sizzling burgers wafted through the air as Kiaan, Kiara, Abhir, and Shruti (Abhir's girlfriend) stepped out, their voices mingling with the chatter around them.)

Abhir: (stretches his arms, looking relaxed) Bhai, that fight sequence was insane! Woh car chase wala scene... uff!!! it was crazy!!!

Kiara: (rolls her eyes playfully) Bas kar, bro!!! Ek toh tumhaare reactions, movie se zyada entertaining hote hain. Woh hero punch maar raha tha, aur tum yahaan se 'maar saale ko!' 'maar saale ko!!!' chilla rahe the.

Kiaan: (chuckled, adjusting his hoodie) Abhir ki live commentary toh bonus hai. Matlab theater experience ka poora paisa vasool!

Shruti: (giggles) Honestly, Abhir.... I think the people sitting in front of us were more interested in your reactions than the movie.

Abhir: (smirks) Well, what can I say? Main naturally dramatic hoon.

Kiara: (nudges him with her elbow) Dramatic nahi, overdramatic hai tu!!

(They head toward the food counter, where a queue snakes around impatiently.)

Kiara: (nudging Shruti) Waise, Shruti, action movies pasand hai ya bas Abhir ke chakkar mein dekh rahi ho?

Shruti: (teasing) so toh hai.... I like rom- coms more!!!!

Kiara: (teasing) oh ho.... Abhir!!!! Tu jaata hai phir?? Romantic comedy movies dekhne?

Abhir: (mock sighing) Pyaar mein sab kuch karna padta hai, Boss!!! Meri madam ne toh already keh diya hai... Aryan Khanna ki new romantic comedy movie aane waali hai.... 'Right swipe wala pyaar' and we have to watch it for sure!!!!

Kiara: (mock gasping) Haye.... Bechara Abhir!!!! Kya kuch karna padta hai issay!!!! Tujhe romantic comedy dekhna pad raha hai? Matlab teri life full-on 'torture wala pyaar' hai!!!!

(They all burst out laughing as their turn came at the food counter. Abhir scanned the menu board, rubbing his hands together.)

Abhir: Alright, pehle food finalize karte hain. Mujhe ek large popcorn aur cold coffee chahiye.

Kiara: (raises an eyebrow) Cold coffee ke saath popcorn? Strange combo, bro.

Abhir: kya karun??? Main hoon, thoda hatke!!!! (he teases her) aur tu kya legi??? Tere toh nachos ke bina movie complete hi nahi hoti!!!

Kiara: Exactly!!! (she steps forward to place her order) Bhaiya, ek large nachos with extra cheese, aur ek Sprite.

Abhir: (turning towards Abhir) Tum kya logi, Shruti?? burger and coke???

Shruti: (grins) yes... you know me so well!!!!

Abhir: (smiles at Shruti, then turns to Kiaan) aur Kiaan bhai??? Tera kya scene hai?

Kiaan: ek large fries bol de, yaar!!!

Kiara: (rolling her eyes dramatically) uff.... Kiaan and his fries!!!! (teases her) Mihika jealous nahi hoti? ki tum Uss se zyaada, fries ko pasand karte ho!!!

(Kiaan shoots her a mock glare. Abhir smirked at Kiara's comment)

Abhir: woh kya hai naa Kiara, fries are loyal. They don't fight over why I didn't text back in two hours!!!!

Shruti: (laughing) Savage! Mihika ko yeh line sunani chahiye!

Kiara: (giggling) Usse mat sunana, warna woh, Kiaan ke fries confiscate hi kar legi!

(The group erupts into laughter, while Kiaan shook his head with a playful smirk.

As they waited for their food, the group found a small empty corner and gathered there.

Abhir started mimicking the hero's exaggerated fight moves, earning chuckles from Kiaan and Kiara.)

Kiara: (leans closer to Shruti) You're used to this, aren't you? Abhir ki nonstop nautanki?

Shruti: (sighs dramatically) Used to it? Kabhi- kabhi lagta hai yeh mera boyfriend nahi, mera baccha hai.... I have to discipline him every time!!!!

Abhir: Excuse me!!!! (points a mock-offended finger at her) Main tumse zyada mature hoon!!!

Shruti: yeah... right!!!!

(Their laughter echoed in the busy lobby as the food arrived.

They juggled trays of snacks, laughing and teasing each other, as they head back toward the theater.

On the way, Kiaan quickly snagged a couple of Kiara's nachos.)

Kiara: (annoyingly) Kiaan!!! Tumhaare fries kaafi nahi hain kya?

Kiaan: (dodges her swat) arrey bas, taste test kar raha hoon!!!!

Shruti: (looks at Abhir and smiles) Mujhe lagta hai, interval ke baad, movie se zyaada, dhamakedaar fight scene toh yahaan, live dekhne ko milenge!!!!

Abhir: (nods his head) Sahi bola!!!! Yeh dono ke fights bahut hi dhamakedaar hote hain!!!!

(They laugh as they settle back into their seats, the screen lighting up with the second half of the movie.)
