Part Title 6

day of the ball

I woke up with a start as the maids around me were acting crazy.

"Get her in the bathtub! You three, go get the dress! Where are all the brushes!!!" The head maid was yelling orders like an army general as I was hoisted out of my bed and dragged to the bathtub where I was washed, dried, moisturised, massaged and then the real trouble started...

Everyone was arguing about what I should wear and what style my hair should be. One maid took out an unbelievably big dress that was hot pink and decorated with endless jewels. It looked like a souffle.

"What about this one?" I shook my head frantically. NO WAY was I going to wear that! After an hour of deciding, I chose a simple lacy blue dress that matched my eyes. My hair was styled in a side pony with my hair tie being bedazzled in sapphires.

(Her dress)

My shoes were lacy flats since I was planning on running should I get caught in unwanted trouble.

"My lady, you look wonderful!" The maids complimented. I took their word for it since I didn't have the time to look in the mirror.

"Luna, Astro, come! I'm not going to the party without you!" I carried Luna in my arm while Astro was resting on my shoulders. They weren't heavy so I carried them all the way to the carriage. My mother looked fabulous in her red dress and my father was wearing a black garment.

"Sylvi, what are you doing?" My mother asked. Oh yeah, people couldn't see Luna and Astro, I guess now is a good time to tell them.

"It's my familiar," I tell Luna and Astro to reveal themselves, "this is Luna and this is Astro." My parents looked shocked as they stared at Luna and Astro.

"Get in the carriage we're going to be late," my father finally said. Once I sat down, he demanded an explanation as to how I've gotten two familiars when I'm only six.

I explained to them everything that happened, leaving out the parts about the reincarnation and once I was done, my parents were shocked.

"I've never heard of anyone with two familiars at the age of 6," my mother muttered.

"Yes. This could be troublesome... Sylvia, do not tell anyone about your familiars until you're 11. If anyone who can see them asks about your familiars, say that you were on a trip with me and you happened to make a contract with them. No one must know that you went into the forest at five, if they did then you would be investigated and may even be used for war," my father said.

"Why would they use me for war?"

"Your familiars are none other than the midnight cat of secrets and the moonlight wolf of truths. They rule over the forbidden forest." My father explains. WHAAAAAT?!?! how could these two lazy animals be the midnight cat and the moonlight wolf.

Well, we didn't ask for the name. Who was that?

It's us, Astro and Luna. Since when could we communicate telepathically?

Well, you didn't ask. Still! would've been nice to know!

Those humans gave us that name since we would crush their hearts if they weren't honest. We were searching for a new master and all of the candidates failed because they just needed our power for immoral things. They didn't deserve to live so Luna ate their souls and I fed on their dishonesty, it's quite tasty.

I shuddered at the thought that I may have been animal chow if I was like the original villainess. THANK YOU GOD FOR LEAVING ME MY MEMORIES!!!

The humans also gave us that name since we can read into their inner selves. You're the only one who is a mystery to both of us. You're like an unpredictable puzzle, whose future is always changing. What does that mean?

You'll understand when you're older. I wonder what else you've been hiding from me...

I can hear them laughing at my thought as they continued to laze in my arms.

"Ok then... Luna and Astro, hide yourselves from everyone apart from us," I order. Luna and Astro both yawned at the same time and nodded, I guess that means it's done? As we near the palace, I tell Luna and Astro to stay with me but to hide. My mother helped me down as I held her hand. A man announces our family to the crowd.

"Duke Scilla, duchess Scilla and lady Scilla have entered!" He announces, I and my family descend the stairs and everyone is staring at us.

Maybe it's because I'm not as well dressed as them??? Since I never really looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't know how I looked. All I knew is that I had silver hair and blueish-purple eyes.

"Sylvia, go and talk to the other kids your age, me and your father have some business to attend to," my mother said to me as she and father walked up to a couple dressed in the finest gold.

I walk around, hoping to find anyone familiar and I spot Rin.

"Rin!" I walk up to her. She was wearing a black and gold dress that made her look like a golden butterfly.

"Hi, Sylvia! I was wondering when you would come! Lemme introduce you to my friends! This is Violetta Ayala Abberson, and this is Monique Layla Deveraux. "

(Violetta Ayala Abberson)

I looked at the purple-haired girl. She was so cute! Almost like a doll.

"My name is Sylvia de crystal Scilla, daughter of duke Scilla, a pleasure to meet you," I curtsy.

"My name is Violetta Ayala Abberson, daughter of prime minister Abberson, pleased to make your acquaintance," she said as she curtsied as well. I looked at the other girl next. Man, why we're all these girls so kawaii? The second girl had dark hair and blue eyes. She had an elegant aura around her and she also spoke elegantly.

(Monique Layla deveraux)

"My name is Monique Layla Deveraux, daughter of the Minister of Finance, nice to meet you,"

"And I, you," I say. Looks like all my manners lessons really paid off.

"Sylvi, come and meet my brother, he's with his friends!" Rin says as she drags all three of us by our arms. Rin was like a firecracker, no wonder Len felt so empty without her.

"Brother!" Rin called out as she headed towards a boy who looked exactly like her. I know rin and Len were twins but they look like mirror images of each other. The only difference was the clothing and their voices.

"Rin, don't run! You might fall!" Allen scolded her.

"I'm sorry but I really wanted to introduce you to my new friend! This is Sylvi!" Rin pointed at me.

"It's rude to point!" Allen said as he grabbed his sister's hand and put it down, "I'm terribly sorry, please excuse my sister's behaviour."

"It's no need, my name is sylviana de crystal Scilla, and I'm a friend of your sister. Please call me Sylvia if you'd like. "

"Pleasure to meet you, my name is Allen Alberto Kagamine. You may call me Len, I don't really care for titles when it comes to my sister's friends." Me, Rin, Len, Monique and Violetta talked for a long time and I nearly forgot about my plan to stay hidden.

"Excuse me, but I would like to explore the palace. Please go back to what you were doing," I quickly head for the secret garden I planned before and sat down on a low tree branch.

Luna and Astro appeared before me and lay on my lap. I started stroking them as they curled up on my lap while I was looking at the night sky. It was very late.

"Hey, Luna,"

"Yes, Sylvia?"

"D'you think I'm weird?"

"Why do you ask that?" Astro says.

"When I came to the ball, everyone was staring at me. I know I didn't really go all out for the birthday party but I didn't know that my clothes were that bad."

"I say your clothes are okay. It's you," Luna replies.

"What, am I ugly? " I guess I didn't inherit the looks of the villainess...

"No, you're not ugly!" Astro starts but I cut him off.

"Who cares anyway, I don't care if I'm ugly or not. The problem is that we live in a judgemental society so if anyone says I'm ugly... I'm going to SUCKER PUNCH THEM!"

Astro and Luna laughed at my statement, "I never said you were ugly, I meant you're otherworldly, it's not every day you get a silver-haired girl here. Silver and gold are mostly linked with royalty. Your looks aren't half bad," Luna clarified.

I sighed in relief, in the last life I was avoided for being "ugly" so I have a bit of anxiety about my new looks.

"Excuse me..." I look back and see a boy with silvery grey hair. How'd he sneak up on me and not set off my personal radar?

"C-can you direct me to the ballroom please, I got lost..." The boy whimpers. He was so cute! Goddamn everyone is so kawaii!

"Um sure!" I say as I take his hand and lead him to the ballroom. The boy looked my age but when I turn back to ask his name, he disappeared into the crowd. Creepy... When I try and escape back to the garden, my mother calls me over to meet someone. I knew I should've just hidden under the buffet table... I take a deep breath and head over to my mother...

And that's a wrap folks! My hands feel like they're about to fall off from all the writing I've been doing. Lemme tell ya, writing ain't easy. First is the draft, then redraft, then proofreading and adding pictures and running it through someone else so they can check if it's readable. And that's for all the chapters! I need a nap.
