Chapter 18

Bored

The heroic villainess

This chapter is just an apology chapter since I've missed a week when I was supposed to upload a chapter so think of this as the chapter just being uploaded a bit late.

This chapter's song is: bulletproof pt 2. By bts!

It's been two months since I've stopped the assassination of Rillaine and I'm not going to enrol in the academy for another year and a half! I've already read every book and done everything that's fun in the mansion. I wish I had my phone T-T.

There's not much I can do. I'm too young for half the things I wanna do and too noble for the other half. I can't even go to town without at least two guards. For gods sake, I'm in a fantasy world! I wanna explore! Forget the whole survival thing! I'm sure that if I just don't bully the heroine then everything will be fine!

Alright, operation-ask-dad-to-let-me-explore-the-fantasy-world-and-also-think-of-a-shorter-name-for-this-operation into action! And if he doesn't say yes then I'll just ask mom! I walk up to my father's office and knock on the door. He wasn't answering so I knocked again.... IF HE DOESN'T ANSWER THIS DOOR THEN I'M BREAKING IT DOWN!

Just when I was about to kick the door open, I heard my father say come in. Humph, about time daddy dearest! My dad still looked like a runaway model, he was writing with a fancy feather pen which I think they call a quill and besides him was two stacks of papers. It's times like these when I'm happy for being a girl. I'm all about equality but I cannot be asked to do all that paperwork on the daily.

"Father..." I look up at the big desk where my father was working. I felt like I was being judged the way he literally looked down at me with those cold, icy blue eyes.

"I'm really bored so I thought..."

"To the point," he interrupted. Sheesh old man, if I wasn't mentally an adult, I would've been sent running.

"I wish to go outside."

"For what business?"

"Just to explore..."

"A member of Scilla does not simply just explore. Although you are a girl, you are still a blood member of house Scilla. Do not waste your time on silly things." So I guess that's a no... I sigh and turn around to leave.

"However..." I look back at father who rubbed his temples with his hand, " if you provide me with an acceptable reason, I may be able to let you out."

"Acceptable reason?"

"Like business, you may only be 11 years old but I know for a fact that you are much more gifted than that. It's in your blood," father replied.

My blood... So, it was something done from my ancestors?

"Thank you father, I shall be back with a much better reason." I leave the office and head straight for the library. There must be a book on the registry of the Scilla family. Aha, here it is. The book was a deep blue with a golden tree that looked like it was reflected. Blue stones surrounded the tree and intricate gold markings were decorated in the corners.

(The Scilla family registry)

Every household had a family registry. There was a copy that was given to the temple, the civil bureau and one for the household. Every achievement and crime that the household did was documented in the registry. If you weren't added to the registry then you weren't entitled to any inheritance or title.

However, the child law states that all children must be added to the family registry upon birth. If you were taken off the family registry then that would officially mean you were cast out of the family, resulting in your name, title and inheritance being taken away. You would be a nameless nobody with no family and no ties to nobility.

This happened to Sylviana in Mason's good route. She was stripped of her title for bringing shame to her family and sent either to a monastery or to live as a commoner in the village. In ace's route, the whole family collapsed and the property was given back to the crown so the household Scilla was no more. However, since I have no interest in actually doing my part as the villainess, I'm gonna live this new life to the fullest!

I look up at the older generation of Scilla and found out about all the cool things my ancestors did. Great-grandpa Ruviel helped us win the Scretan war with his amazing diamond light strategy.

Great great great great grand aunt Selene helped set the ten human laws which banned slavery and have human rights to everyone. She's a huge hero to the commoners and great great great great great great great great great grandma Julia was one of the major factors of the civilisation we live in now.

All these people did amazing things but the first Scilla did the most amazing thing ever. He was one of the people who got rid of all the demon monsters in hefelia along with the first King and actually helped in naming Hefelia.

It's so sad that all this history would've been destroyed because of sylviana. I read all about the current family tree and see my parents there. The first born sons have to inherit the family name and this may sound sexist bit in actuality, most girls are happy because this means they can choose to do whatever they want.

It says here that aunt Serena decided to become a royal designer and now she designs clothes for the King and queen themselves. Oh, and granduncle Sylvester became a merchant leader. He imports and exports luxury goods and lived a good life, passing his business to uncle Preston and his wife.

Even the food is thanks to the Scilla family. It says here that my great great great. (Times by three) grand aunt Aristide reshaped the culinary world from crummy bread to delicious roasted beef and stews. With all these cool genes, I'm surprised that Sylviana didn't turn out to be a prodigy in the world. Or she might've thought that she didn't need to since she was engaged to the prince in the game...

In my case, I'm still engaged to ace and frankly, I don't really mind it but if he ever tries to kill me or dump me for the heroine, it's good to have a back up plan. My goal is not just survival, I wanna live this life out! I think it'd be nice to be royalty but if it isn't in the cards then I'm good with having my own business like... Weaponry!

I was a weapons nerd in my last life. It was my friend Kyoko who introduced me to Otome games before I died. If I didn't die, I'd sign up in the military so I can get my hands on those sweet sweet babies! (I mean weapons!)

This kingdom's military is good but they deal with swords only and only magicians can use spells but I bet no one has ever thought of combining the two! If I manage to pull this business plan off.... I'll be rolling in money! I'll be so rich that I wouldn't even care if the engagement is cancelled or not. The real question is how do I make these magical weapons. I don't have compatibility with metal or all the basic elements.

Wait... I know someone who does! Well, I know two people who do! Violet has an affinity for metal and Niki has an affinity for all the basic elements. If they join hands and make a weapon, and I sell it then we could be filthy rich! But first I need to talk to them about it... I'll ask mother to invite them.

Now I need to make a business plan and need to go venturing for a good place to set up shop, not to mention business alliances... All this work is so much fun! It's way better than just rereading all the books in the library! I spent the rest of my time making a business plan and soon, Lilian comes in saying it's time for dinner. Apparently, it's been three hours since I started but it only felt like ten minutes.

"Miss, what is this?" Lilian asks, looking at the messy floor filled with papers and writing.

"You'll see Lilian," I smile as I make my way to the dining room. Dinner was always the best, this time it was a delicious beef Wellington topped off with lots of different foods and drinks. The dessert was a fruit jelly since it was summer. As I ate my dinner, I stopped to talk to my mother.

"Mother, I'd like to invite over a few friends of mine."

"Oh my! Are you hosting a tea party?"

"Sort of, I'm thinking of creating my own business." Father looked up when I said that.

"So you've thought of something worthy of the Scilla name?" He asks.

"Yes, I've read all about the Scilla family line and the revolutionary things they did and I want to reshape the world with my creations," I say.

"So what's your business plan?"

"I've noticed how only magicians can cast spells and knights can wield weapons, so I thought about combining the two in a magical weapon of sort," I explain.

"Too risky," my father comments.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"It's never been done before, just the thought of a weapon that can do magic can turn the tide of war, or maybe even start a war."

"I've thought of that, these weapons won't be invincible, they'll need careful maintenance not to mention that magic isn't infinite. Think of it like a glass of water. If I drink the water then I need to refill the glass. In this case, the water is magic and the glass is the weapon. And I've also heard of a certain type of rune that can account for all the weapons made. So if it should ever get stolen, the rune will activate and destroy the weapon. It's steal proof," I explain.

"My, what an ingenious plan! I think it could really work!" Mother said.

"It could work yes, but just how do you plan on making these weapons? You don't have an affinity for metal," father questions.

"My friends Monique and Violetta have affinities for metal and all the basic elements. With this, we can make a good business to strengthen the military and make a profit for ourselves."

"Oh, the prime minister's daughter and minister of finance's daughter! They're very well known in high society," my mother says.

"Do you have what it takes?" My father asks.

I smile and say, "I'm a Scilla after all."

My father actually smiled at my reply and actually agrees to help me with my plan.

"I'll send a message to your friends for a tea party," mother says.

"Thank you mother."

"Thank me when you succeed. I believe in you silver drop," mother replies. The rest of the dinner was spent talking about my new plan for making weapons. Father even offered to help me expand my plan and we spent the rest of the day working on it in his office, it was nice to have a little father-daughter time even if it's over business.

I worked on my proposal late into the night. I didn't know it was almost midnight had Luna not told me.

"This plan of yours... It's revolutionary y'know. In all my years, I've never seen anything like it," Astro says as he hovers over my head, staring down at my papers.

"I hope you know what you're doing, this could pin a target on your back," Luna says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Just imagine. A girl who came up with a way for people to use weapons with magic they don't have an affinity for, people would literally kill to get their hands on you, especially the royal family." Luna says.

"But I'm already engaged to the Royal family."

"There's more than one Royal family," Astro says. Oh yeah...

Quick recap on the new world: gamaria.

There are two continents in the Otome world gamaria: the ruby and sapphire continent. The ruby continent is for humans. There are three countries in the ruby continent:

Hefelia, the country where I live which is in the west.

Froslia, the country in the north.

And ecellia, the country in the east.

The sapphire continent is made up of:

Mysteria, the country for mystical and mythical beings like fairies and dragons.

Drogaria, the country of demons

And prevelia, the land of the elves and dwarves.

"Relax, I've been training my magic, plus I have you two. And doesn't hefelia have a peace treaty with the other countries?"

"Anything could start a war, even if there's a peace treaty or not," Luna says.

"Well then I'll just have to be careful, and besides, if my weapons cause a war then I'll just as easily get rid of it. It's not hard with the right rune."

"I don't remember you having an affinity for runes." Says Astro.

"I don't. But Aiden does, and he works for the Royal family who I'm engaged to. It's a win-win for both sides if these weapons are made so I doubt they'll put up a fight."

I don't know how long I stayed up working or when I fell asleep but the next morning, I was in peeling off my paper from my forehead and washing imprinted ink off. Today was gonna be a busy day...

Finally, the villainess gets off her lazy ass and does something productive. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get on my lazy ass and watch her do something productive.
