Chapter 13
The Educator
I wake up the next morning at around eleven in the morning. Jesus, I missed the schedule fore the water activities. I immediately grab the phone and call front desk. They inform me that I missed my slot and could no longer give me another schedule for today. The next open slot would be for tomorrow. I fall on my bed in disappointment and apologize for missing my schedule with them and well as thanked them for accommodating me. I grab my phone and head downstairs. I see Elliot sleeping on the couch, his laptop open and his iMessage pinging. I see him scrolling through the water activities on the hotelâs website. I see the messages on his iMessage. I see a message from his friends, it was from a group. I open it and scroll to the top most message, at least from three in the morning. I know, it was inappropriate but I was just curious. It was messages from his friends, making suggestions on what to do in Koh Samui. No wonder he was looking at water activities. One of his friends asked if I was a shopper type of persons. He said no and that I didnât even use his credit card when he left it with me. There was another friend who said, maybe you could take her on a spa day because thatâs something that his girlfriend would always ask from him. Elliot said that we already did that and one particular message hit me.
âI really want her to enjoy and not regret being married to me. I know she doesnât love me or anything but I want to at least build some sort of relationship with meâ Elliot said.
A suggestion comes âHow about water activities then a private meal on a different islandâ
I close his laptop and take a look at Elliot. That was really sweet of him, I have to admit. Elliotâs very warm and to be honest, if circumstances were different, it would not be so hard to love Elliot. Heâs kind, charitable, sweet and a real gentleman. No wonder girls swoon over him. Just not me.
Too bad we missed the aquatic activities today. I take the blanket from his room and cover him up. I walk over to the phone and call concierge to connect me to the restaurant and order a special American breakfast for two people. Itâs already so late and even if we wanted to do something today, weâre not going to be able to maximize it. I thank the restaurant personnel and wait for our breakfast. Elliotâs things are on the counter where there are stools, it probably doubles as a breakfast nook as well. I carefully organize his things back to his room and I let him sleep in peace. I go upstairs and take a quick warm shower. When I step out of the room, fresh from the shower and clothed. I can hear people talking downstairs and I look down and I see the waiter with our food and Elliot thanking him for bringing the food to our room. I run down and smile at Elliot. He was still fresh from his sleep, his hair up and eyes extra small. I help Elliot pull the trolley near the nook and I start placing the plates properly. While I place the plates, Elliot faces the cups up and he poured me a cup of hot chocolate and cold water in another glass. We sat across from each other and Elliot look around the room.
I point to his room, âItâs in your room. I just cleared out the nook awhile ago because I ordered breakfast for usâ I say.
âThanksâ he says his voice a little rough and bigger than usual. He steps down from the seat, walks to the room and comes back with his laptop and charger. He plugs it in, types in his password and he scans the messages for a moment. He glances at me, as if he knows that I did in fact read his messages. He doesnât confront me about it. I take a few pieces of the pancake and a bowl of the clam chowder to my side.
I clear my throat, âWhile I was fixing your things, I accidentally opened one of your messages but I didnât read them. Donât worryâ I say and I drink my hot chocolate. I place an eggs benedict on his place, a couple of pieces of bacon, toast and I pour him a cup of coffee. Elliot just nods but continues to typing.
âAre you going to be working today?â
He shakes his head, âNo. I told you, Iâll be spending the day with you. Butâ he starts with his but again, âIâll be out again tomorrow. Iâll be meeting with some people for another project. You still have my card, right?â he asks.
âYeah, I doâ
He nods and he chews his food, âGood. The driver will still be available at your convenience. Call me when youâre going to leave the suite and where youâre going. Just in caseâ
he says. âSoâ he closes his laptop. âWhat do you want to do today?â
I put my fork down and sip my hot chocolate, âActually,â I start to say, âI had the whole day planned out because I know youâre stresses and all that. I thought we could go on aquatic activities but I woke up late so ...â
He crosses his arms, places both elbows on the nook and leans forward to say, âYeah, I know you planned a day of activities today. The woman at the front desk called this morning to confirm your ten oâclock schedule. I informed her that weâd have to cancel because weâre both tired from last nightâ he wiggles his brows maliciously at me.
I raise my brow. I take a piece of toast, break it and throw it at him. He moves a little to the side and the toast falls on the floor. âPervertâ I say with eyes squinted.
He shrugged, âWhat? Nothing happened and itâs true that we were tired from everything that happened last nightâ
âItâs not what you said, itâs how you said itâ I reason out.
âYeah, sureâ he says in an annoying tone. Elliot and I continue to eat while we watch a movie on Netflix. When we both finish breakfast, we place everything on the trolley.
âWe should go swimmingâ I tell him He looks at me, âWhat? Now? ITâs one in the afternoon, the sunâs going to be outâ
I look out, âOh, yeahâ
The Educator ï¤Chapter 12: 12 Elliot looks at me, âDo you want to take a drive around the area? Maybe go check what Koh Samui can offer?â he asks.
I raise a brow âWill the driver be with us?â
He shakes his head, âNoâ
My face lights up and I say, âIâll change really quickâ
