"Taliah please, one week is all we ask," Ace said.

"One week?" I questioned skeptical about the whole thing.

"One week. Just to prove how sorry we are. We never meant to hurt you fiore." Ace said.

"Okay see you on Sunday," he replied.

"Bye." I ended the call.

River was still asleep on my chest looking as beautiful as ever.

"Baby." I cooed to wake him up.

"River my love it's time to wake up," I said as he stirred.

"Go back to sleep," he whined

"I'm leaving tomorrow." hopefully that will wake him up.

He shot up from off of me and held my face.

"Why? Did I do something wrong? I promise I'll fix it. Was it me? Is it the house? Are you mad? Sad? Why are you leaving me?" he looked sad.

"No River, I'm not mad at you at all. My brothers and I made a deal for me to go back for one week so they could prove how sorry they were. You did nothing wrong. You perfect." I pecked his lips.

"Oh, I thought you didn't want me anymore." he pouted.

"My love, don't ever think for a second I would want to leave you. You the best thing that's ever happened to me. I- I lo-" My rant was cut off by my river phone ringing

"One second Ragazza carina" he kissed my forehead and went to the bathroom.

I trapped a pillow and screamed into it.

I can't believe I was about to tell him I loved him!

I could have ruined our relationship!

After a few minutes River came back with a smile on his face.

"What are you so happy about?" I raised my eyebrow.

"I'm happy that I have the prettiest girlfriend ever," he said.

"Well, I'm happy I have the handsomest boyfriend ever." I stood up and hugged him.

He picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist.

"Aren't I heavy?" I questioned.

"No not at all." he kissed my face cheek.

"Now tell me what you were going to say before we were interrupted," he said cheekily.

"Oh, I just wanted to know your nationality. Because you speak French." I played with the strings of of Rivers hoodie I was wearing.

"Well I'm mixed with French and Italian," he responded.

"Ooh cool. I know I have Italian but I don't know what else." I said.

"Well let's have a lazy day before you leave me tomorrow." he jokingly pouted.

He carried me downstairs sat me on the kitchen counter and started cooking French toast.

Did I mention he's still shirtless?

We he is, and it distracts me.

"Like what you see darling?" he asked.

"Yes, very much," I said.

"Oh? And what do you like so much huh?" river smirked.

His hands were on either side of my body and his face was close to mine.

"I like your tattoos. What does that one mean?" I pointed at a black and white butterfly.

River stiffened, moved away from me, and turned back to the stove.

"River? I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked." I rubbed his back.

"No, it's okay. Just sit at the table the food is almost done anyway." he shook his head and shrugged my hand off.

"O-okay then." I grabbed the plates and forks and brought them to the table.

We ate in silence until I broke it.

"River what's wrong? I know I stepped over a line but you can talk to me." I explained while putting my hand over his.

"I know Taliah, it's just okay- I'll start from the beginning." He stuttered.

"No it's okay-"

"No. I need to tell you." He cut me off.

"It started with my parents, my dad worked as a personal assistant and my mom was a waiter at a diner. They met at my mom's work and hit it off. After a few months of dating my dad popped the question and they got married a week later. A couple of months after they married my mom found out she was pregnant, with me. She wasn't ready to be a mom she was only 18 but she made it work. She wasn't a very good mother she always yelled at me for stuff I didn't do I was only 10 years old. Sooner or later she got hooked on drugs and she became a drunk too. My dad couldn't take it anymore so he overdosed and killed himself. He always said he loved us or he cared for us me and Leo. Gosh, Leo was only a baby only 6 years old Taliah. He didn't deserve to be neglected by his mom he never knew our parents and I'm glad it ended up that way. After my dad died my mom found out she was pregnant. It was a girl. I learned how to braid hair for my baby sister. No matter how hard my life was I was still so excited to meet my baby sister. But As my mother continued drugs things continued going badly she went to the doctor because she started bleeding heavily and she told me she lost the baby she had she said she was glad "it" died because she couldn't live with another monster ruining her life. She was the real monster. After a few months, she up and left. I was so happy. So happy she was gone for good. I raised Leo on my own I continued school and found a job at 11 I was bigger than the average kid so they thought I was 16. Now hears later here we are." River finished as he sniffled.

I grabbed him and brought him into a tight hug.

I knew how it felt to be so neglected to grow up and be an adult when you were still a little kid. To lose a parent.

It was the worst feeling you could ever feel. It made me feel so broken. And to have a little sibling to take care of, to be a parent to? I can't imagine how River felt.

"It's okay my love, it's all over now," I whispered to him.

"Thank you Tereso. I like you so much." he mumbled.

I love you.

"I like you so much too." I kissed his forehead.

Hey how about we chill and watch a movie?"I asked him while massaging his head.

"mmm" he mumbled.

He was about to fall asleep, he needed it.

He deserves the world and more.
