25|| Operation Mole Rat

Today I felt confident.

I felt like today was going to be a good day. No not just because I got great sleep last night.

But because I will get answers today. Hopefully.

Anywho my brothers and I were on our way to school. Driving in silence as usual.

Even though nobody talked I could tell all three of them were tense. Maybe they didn't get good sleep.

I don't know. I won't stress about it though. Today I have a mission.

I almost felt like Kim Possible. Except I don't have a cool pager or a naked mole rat sidekick. But hey, I can still be a good agent.

Once we arrived at school I hopped out of the car and went straight to the first period.

Harlow, Hunter, Gaby, and Jacob are all gone.

Gaby said she would be moving and Jacob would be transferring schools.

You may be wondering "wow when did that happen?" Or "I wasn't informed!" Yeah sista, we're in the same boat.

Both Gabby and Jacob sprung it on us in the same week.

Hunter and Harlow are sick with a cold. They are twins I didn't expect both of them to be sick at the same time.

Anywho back to the mission. I should name it, 101 get answers? Nah to elementary.

How about Operation mole rat? Yeah! I like it.

Operation mole rat is on the go. Well not really I'll start the mission at lunch but that's beside the point.

Dot dot dot

After the fourth period, it was lunchtime. I searched for about ten minutes until I found River.

As soon as I saw his face I got nervous. He's intimidating and hot. Who wouldn't be nervous?

He was sitting in the school garden while on his phone. By the looks of it, he was upset. He was rapidly tapping on his phone while his face was in a scowl.

I was behind a tree scared to come from behind it. I soaked up his appearance he was wearing black jeans and a white shirt with a black leather jacket.

Maybe I should postpone this mission. Yeah, I'll just live the rest of my life cluelessly.

"You can come out now!" River yelled. I cringed because I was most definitely caught. I let out a small huff and came from behind the tree.

"Hi" I greeted him quietly. "Hi" he deep voice responded.

He stood up and walked toward me while I took steps back.

He was a few feet ahead just as my back hit the tree I was hiding behind not long ago.

He kept walking toward me and was now inches from my face.

"What were you doing behind that tree? Hmm?" He whispered.

"N-nothing" I stuttered.

"Nothing? I don't think spying on me is nothing." He said.

"I- I just wanted answers," I said

"Okay, what questions do you have." He asked as he stepped back a little.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Well, why doesn't Ace like you?" I asked.

The river rose his eyebrow while his eyes held amusement and curiosity.

"Who are you?" He asked. "Hey, that's against the interrogation rules. You don't answer a question with a question." I said.

"If you want to get technical you never specified why type of answer you wanted." He said.

"Yo- I- ugh! Forget it my name is Taliah." I said.

"Sweetheart I asked who you are not your name." He said.

"Well to bad. Now answer my question what's between you and Ace Moretti?" I questioned again.

"No." He said.

What does he mean no?!

"No?" I questioned.

"No." He replied.

"Okay fine then," I said as I crossed my arms and looked at him questioningly.

"If you don't answer that question answer this one, and not with another question. Who are you?" I asked.

"River." He answered then walked away.

Didn't he just say he didn't ask for my name?! I didn't ask for his either, I already knew it. Whatever.

So back to the mission, did we get answers? No not really.

Was Operation Mole Rat a failure? Partially. But I'm not giving up.

After school, I was the first one inside my house. I went to my room and took a quick shower.

I was now in sweats and a tank top.

I went to Ace's room and knocked on his door.

"Who is it?" He questioned from the other side.

"Me" I said.

"Me who?" He taunted "ha ha very funny. Seriously Ace I need to talk to you." I said.

"Fine fine." He said as he opened the door.

I came in and sat on his bed he sat next to me a few seconds later.

"Ace, I'll get straight to the point. Who is River and why do y'all have beef?" I said.

"Just a little high school rivalry that's all. Hey how about we go out for ice cream? We'd have to sneak so we don't have to bring anyone else any." Ace said. I quickly agreed.

Who dosent love ice cream?

After Ace and I  "snuck" out not so quietly. The whole family went out for ice cream. Well everyone but Roman and Vincent.

Unfortunately, they had work to do.

I fell asleep that night peacefully.

The next day was Saturday.

I didn't wake up in pain or fear.

Funny how life works eh? I go from hatting Saturdays to liking them.

I got up and made breakfast for everybody. There were pancakes, bacon, eggs, and orange and apple juice.

Just as I was flipping the last pancake I heard someone sniff.

No seriously.

"Eggs, pancakes. And, *sniff* bacon!" The voice said.

Seconds later I saw Matteo running in the kitchen.

"Did I ever tell you how good of a sister you are?" Matteo said as he was making his plate.

I chuckled and made my plate just as the rest of the boys came down probably smelling the food from upstairs.

Everyone thanked me and sat down at the table to eat.

All I hear is fork clicking on the glass plates while everyone is eating.

"Taliah. Umm, I want to take you to The Spot today." Romano said.

"Oooh can we come??" Mateo yelled.

"I think it's a good idea." Vincent said while nodding

"Yeah we haven't been there in years! Not since..." Ace stopped.

Romano cleared his throat loudly, "Yeah, but today it's going to be me and Taliah." Romano said which made everyone shut their mouths.

After I ate I went to get dressed. Am I surprised? Yes. Am I upset? I don't completely know. But we'll see how today goes.

I apologize if there are any mistakes, they can be fixed later. Thank you for your patience and support it means a lot. I also aced 2 test this week yay me! QOTD: Most embarrassing moment? Me? Well once in 4th grade I had a huge crush on this guy his name with be bear. I used to stare at bear (I got rhymes) all the time. So once we were going to after school programe me bear and a few other kids. And he called my name. I was like omg this is it he's about to say he likes me omg this is it! Bear said "Why do you always stare at me in class?" 🙈 I ignored his question and I probably died of emmbarsment. He left the school in 5th grade. The End. Don't forget to VCF!
