Jennie- Why not?
Blackpink imagines (gxg)
Jennie and you have been friends since you were both babies in diapers. Her parent's house in korea was right besides yours, so it was only normal for you both to become friends.
When she moved to New Zealand for her studies you were all alone in Korea as you didn't have friends other than her. The occasional phone calls only made you crave her presence more and more. Even that dwindled as the years passed until there were no calls between you two.
Your early teens sucked. You were bullied in school for growing tall as fast as a weed. And your mixed genes made things worse for you.
When you heard that Jennie was coming back in 8th grade, you weren't happy. What is she forgot about you? What if she also started feeling disgusted with you and avoided you like all the kids in your school?
To avoid being seen by her you avoided her house and the street leading to it like a plague. Until, you were surprised by her in your house. Your mum had 'forgot' to mention that the Kims were coming for dinner.
You have never felt dread like the moment when she laid her eyes on you after all those years. You were prepared for a nasty comment or a disgusted eye roll. It didn't help that Jennie turned out to be gorgeous. Her dark hair longer now, falling gently over her shoulders. Her eyes as sparkly as you remembered them to be. Her mandu cheeks still present.
While you were busy checking her out, she barreled towards you at a speed you didn't know was possible for a human to gain in such a short distance.
The moment her body collided with yours, you lost your balance and fell on the ground with a small crack filling the room. But the pain you were feeling on your elbow was nothing compared to the feeling of her tiny figure holding you close in a tight hug.
"Oh my god Y/N. It's so nice to see you again." She moved her head up and away from your neck to look you in the face with a cute as hell gummy smile on her face. You felt your heart whirring like an old machine coming back to life.
"Jennie?" You whispered.
"Yes, Y/N?" She looked at you with a tiny frown on her face as if she were nervous that you had forgotten her name. Like that was possible.
"I think I broke my hand in the fall."
That was the reunion you guys had. And yes, you did break your elbow.
After that meeting, you and Jennie again became inseparable, like she never left and you never suffered her absence.
That was 10 years ago. Now, you are a photographer for various high end magazines and Jennie Kim is an kpop idol and a member of the world's most famous group, blackpink.
And yes, still inseparable, you spent almost everyday with her when she was in korea and even visited her during their tours. Your career also helped be near them.
"Y/N, come on. Get your ass off the couch. We are doing this. We haven't been to any party since ages. You are 24 not 84 so stop being a grumpy old person." Jennie said as she shook your shoulders hard while you laid on her couch on your tummy and snored loudly pretending to be asleep so that she could walk away.
"I know you are not asleep, Miss I-suck-at-acting. I have known you since we were in diapers and even know the sound and smell of your farts. Now get up before I steal your skittles." Jennie smacked you in the ass before running towards your purse on the floor.
The sound of wrapper made you snap your head up so fast that you heard a small crack. "Not my skittles!" You screamed, getting up from the couch and running towards her. She held the packet to her open mouths and you watched as a piece dropped on her tongue.
"No!" You launched at her and tried to open her mouth to get your skittle out.
Chewing dramatically m, she smacked you hands away and got out of your hold.
Jennie opened her mouth to show you that it was empty. "Get ready if you don't want the rest to end up in my tummy.", she said as she put the packed in her bra and walked away.
Sighing you walked towards her closet where half of your clothes are present because you stay at the Kims more that you stay at your own house.
"That wasn't so hard now was it?" Jennie smirked from the passenger seat with her hand on your thigh like usual as you drove towards the address where Jennie's co-worker, G-Dragon was holdin a party. According to her it was the party of the year and not to be missed.
To be honest, you had nothing against parties. It was this particular party you had a problem with because you knew that Kai from the boy group EXO and Jennie's ex is also gonna be there.
You can't say that you hated him as the guy had an awesome personality. But you were jealous of him. You have loved Jennie since forever and it was not the kinda love you feel for a friend or a sister, which you were sure how Jennie felt for you.
You never really had the guts to tell her about your feelings. And the moment she told you about Kai, you knew that she was not for you.
"Okay, we are here. Pull in through this gate." Jennie said rubbing your thigh softly.
The moment you walked through the door, you knew you would not enjoy the night. It was too crowded. Everyone was either drinking or smoking or flirting or doing god knows what.
The same can't be said about Jennie though. She has always been a social butterfly while you just tagged along with her. It kinda helped that you literally photographed everyonrme of her celebrity friends, making them your friend as well.
"Hey Jen. Hey Y/N." You saw a tipsy Rosé jumping towards you two with a dopey smile plastered to her face. The girl was always a ball of energy. Adding alcohol to it makes her completely hyper like a kid pumped with sugar. You could only imagine the kinda antics she would pull today.
Pulling Jen into a hug first, she turned to you and pulled you into a bone crushing hug.
"I didn't think you would come tonight, Y/N. Jen said you pretending to be asleep. Guess she convinced you. What was it this time? Skittles?" She mumbled against you neck. Pulling her away she gave your cheek a kiss, leaving you a blushing mess.
"Maybe." You say looking away from her eyes, trying to hide the fact that her kiss made you heart speed up a little bit.
If you weren't so head over heels for Jennie, you were sure that you would fall for Rosé.
"Where's Lisa and Jisoo?" Jennie asked Rosé, her mood suddenly plummeting when she saw your blush.
Rosé pointed at the direction of the living room and dragged Jennie who wrapped her arms around as the three of you walked towards the sofa.
Jennie was not suprided to see Jisoo playing video games on the large TV with Sakura, despite the big crowd and the eardrum breaking music, and Lisa sleeping on her shoulder with drool coming out of her mouth.
There was even a tiny crowd surrounding them, waiting for a chance to get their hands on the controllers.
"Hey Jendeuk. Y/N. I would give you guys a hug if I wasn't busy playing this very very very important game or this monkey wasn't sleeping on my shoulder." Jisoo greeted Jennie and you without taking her eyes off of the TV.
Sometimes Jennie wondered if Jisoo had a third eye with how she she noticed things so much despite always being on her phone or on her comouter.
After sharing greetings with everyone, Jennie decided to grab both of you a drink.
You watched as she went to the kitchen with Rosé following her, muttering about wanting another drink. You took a seat beside Jisoo, planning on being settled here for the night.
When Jennie didn't return with the drinks even after 30 minutes while Rosé came back like an eternity ago, you decided to go look for her.
Bumping against people from left and right, you finally managed to reach the kitchen, wishing that you didn't, when you saw Jennie talking to Kai.
Your heart broke a little even though you knew that she wasn't into you and never will be. But the heart wants what it wants and right now it wanted to wither and die.
Feeling suffocated you turned around and decided to walk out to the balcony, where you knew the population of drunk people would be much less.
On the other side of the room, Rosé, Jisoo and a now awake Lisa were watching the scene unfold. "You guys thinking what I am thinking?" Rosé asked the others, while pointing towards her two close friends being oblivious to each others feelings.
"Mhmm. We should totally eat some chicken." Jisoo said, making both Rosé and Lisa to turn towards her with a frown on their faces.
"No, unnie! What we are thinking is that we should do someting about our Jendeuk and Y/N. They obviously love each other. Jennie even dated Kai to move on from Y/N. Don't you remember her drunken confession?" Lisa said exasperately, looking at the oldest as if she were dumb.
"That was exactly what I was thing." Jisoo said with a cheesy smile on her face.
When Jennie returned to the living room she noticed that you weren't sitting in thr sofa along with the three troublemakers. "Hey, Jisoo unnie? Where is Y/N?" She knew that you didn't like crowded spaces and would spent 90% of your time in parties with her members.
" I think she went out to the balcony." Jisoo pointed towards the direction yiu went and again became busy playing games on her phone. The other two nodded their heads.
Jennie didn't reply, feeling anxious to get to you. She didn't want you to have a bad time or make you feel like she abandoned you in a party. But the thing she was most anxious about was the many girls and boys that were most probably gonna flirt with you.
Despite you not being in a relationship with her and Jennie not being brave enough to confess, she always imagined that you were hers and she was yours. She imagined that you both were in a relationship cause she wanted you so bad that it literally hurts her whenever she watches you smile at someone else's joke or flirting.
And her intuition turned out to be right when she saw Nayeon from Twice talking to you with a look of awe that everyone gets when they talk to you. You have always been a quiet girl, making the moment you speak even more breathtaking, making the listener feel special.
Jennie watched as Nayeon unnecessarily kept on touching you arm and felt the green monster creeping up on her like always. Jealousy was not called a sin for nothing as Jennie felt the rising need to smack one of her oldest friends for touching what was meant for her.
Not being able to take the smile that crept up on your face as Nayeon did an aegyo, Jennie stomped towards you two, feeling her cheeks puff out.
"Hey Nayeon." Jennie hugged the girl. She was a good friend, even though Jennie didn't want to call the girl her friend at the moment.
"Hey Jenjen." Nayeon pulled away and smiled at Jen before giving her undivided attention back to you.
Taking a deep breathe internally, Jennie turned to you. "Here's your drink bubby." Jennie held out the unopened can of beer towards you with the sweetest smile she could muster at the moment.
You looked at the can then back up at Jennie's face. Despite wanting to be far away from her as the images of her and Kai kept rolling in your mind, you knew that you could never do anything to hurt her in any way possible.
Taking the can from her you placed a gently kiss on her cheke and thanked her.
"So, what you guys talking about?" Jennie asked as she got between you and Nayeon to wrap her arms around you.
"Oh nothing much. I was just trying to convince Miss beautiful here to go out on a date with me." Nayeon said winking exaggerately, making you laugh a little.
Jennie looked at you with a small smile and nodded her head. "And was she convinced?" She asked Nayeon, while still looking at you.
"Not yet. I will talk to you guys later. See you around." Nayeon winked at you and rubbed Jennie's shoulder before walking back to the living room.
"So. You gonna go on a date with her?" Jennie asked looking straight ahead towards the city lights.
You shrug. "No. She is a good friend though." You say as you look at the bustling city too, missing the way Jennie breathed out in relief.
After a few minutes you both walk in and settle with the other girls and a few other in the sofa section.
As hours pass, the crowd dissipated to only a few close friends of G-dragon which included the members of blackpink, big bang and ikon.
"You guys, lets play truth and dare. We haven't played that game in such a long time." Rosé said suddenly, too drunk to sit straight, getting mixed reactions from everyone.
Eventually someone started the game. "Rosie, truth or dare." Bobby asked with a smirk on his face.
"Pft. Truth. I see that smirk on your face you know. Imma play it safe tonight." Rosé said with a smug smile on her face.
"Fine-" Bobby grumbled as he asked her a question. As the game proceeded, you started having fun, laughing at the things that were said and done.
"Okay. Not it's Y/N's turn. Truth or dare girl?." Lisa asked you while tapping her fingers against each other as if in deep thought.
"I don't wanna get off this couch, so truth." You smiled at the friendly boo's.
"Fine, be a pussy. If you had a chance would you date Jennie Unnie?" Lisa asked making everyone snap their heads your way with curiosity shining bright in their eyes.
Suddeny feeling like the something was pressing you down with all the attention on you, you turned to look at Jennie who looked at you with a small smile.
Before your brain could even come up with the pros and cons of your answer, your tongue ran automatically and you said 'No'.
Someone whispered out a confused 'what' but you couldn't focus on them as you watched Jennie's face change from a smile to a cresent fallen expression.
As the game continued, you tried to comprehend what her expression meant. Was she sad that you didn't want to date her? Or were you just imagining things? Shaking your head you dismissed the thought and tried to focus on the game.
When it was finally time to go home, you decided to give the girls a lift as you only drank half of your beer while the others, except for Jen, were piss drunk.
Dropping all the girls at their respective homes, it was only you and Jennie in the car as you drove towards her house.
"Hey you okay? You seem quite silent tonight." You say as you look at her yo see her looking out the window, before looking back towards the road. She didn't even have her hand on your thigh like usual. Was she upset about something?
"Why not?" You heard a whisper.
"What?" You said as you tried to understand her question.
Turning around and looking at you with tears nearly falling off her eyes, Jennie asked again. "Why not? Why wont you ever date me?".
Never having seen such a look on her face before, you quickly pulled by the side of the road.
"Jennie, where is this coming from?" You held her hands in yours and rubbed away her tears.
"I have loved you since forever Y/N. And I probably always will. All i have ever wanted is for you to be with me. All i want is you. Why cant you see that. And trust me I have tried to think of you as only my friend, but i can't. I even dated Kai to move on but i couldnt even like him like that cause everytime i met him i thought of you. I-" Jennie stopped talking when you suddenly moved forward and kissed the softest pair of lips ever.
Pulling away you looked her in the eyes. "I have loved you since I was a teenager Jen." You kissed her again.
You looked at her as a blinding smile formed on her face, she pulled you in a tight hug.
"By the way, where is my packet of skittles?" You ask, abruptly remembering her taking it. Jennie pulled away, scoofed and smacked you repeatedly.
Grabbing her hands in yours, you pull her close. "I love you Jen and I ways will."
