3 Steps to Get Back to the First Love

Scripture:

Revelation 2:5 (ESV):

"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent."

Reflection:

When we read this text, we can see that there are three steps to get back to the first love. The first is to remember where you have fallen. The second is to repent. The third is to do the works that you did at first. When we truly apply these principles, we get back to the first love. It's necessary to take a moment to remember what happened for you not to be in your first love. Once you have remembered where you have fallen, you need to ask God to forgive you. If you want to get back to the first love again, it's completely important to ask for forgiveness and repent of the things that you were doing. You also must do the works you did at first. Following these steps, a revival will happen in your life. You will have hunger and thirst for God and return to your first love.

If you are not living the first love in your life right now, apply these three steps and ask God to help you in this process.

God, thank you for this devotional, for this time that I can read your Word and meditate on it. I ask you to help me apply these three steps in my life to return to my first love. That’s what I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
