We love because of him
Daily devotional
Scripture:
1 John 4:19-20 (KJV):
19 "We love him, because he first loved us."
20 "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"
Reflection:
Everything started from God. God was the first to love us; He is the source of love. If we can love today, it's because He was the first one.
If we truly love God, we will love those who are near to us because it's very clear in this Bible verse. You can see those who are near to you, but God you don't see. So how is it possible that you don't love someone you see, but love God whom you don't see?
As Christians, we need to love our neighbors; it's the will of God for our life. It's impossible to love God without loving those who are near to us and whom we can see.
Application:
Think about your love for God and your love for your neighbors.
Prayer:
God, thank you for this devotional and help me to love more and more every day my neighbors. Thank you also for your love; everything started from you. I love you because you first loved me. Thank you again, God, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
