"All I want is a reaction from you Alex, you can't be fine. Give me something, scream, shout, just do something." She sobbed."You want a reaction?" He asked, "here it is, I wish I didn't kill Mason, his death was way too simple for him, I wish I could resurrect him and kill him again and again and again until I am satisfied." He screamed at her face "but one thing is for sure, I am not mad at you, I am not angry." He hugged again and this time she didn't push him away, she held him instead"But I am pregnant," she whispered."It could be mine and even if it is his, we will raise it together. It didn't ask for such a life." He kissed her hair."Why are you so kind?" She asked out of the blue."It's only for you, you know I am not this kind when it comes to the world." he tried to make her laugh and it worked. "You should rest Laura, I need a bottle or two of beers." He muttered.She lay on the bed and he covered her with the duvet. The moment he walked out of the room his face changed, he had this deadly look in his eyes, it could send shivers down one's spine."Is that bitch still here?" He asked with a face that made them understand he is in a bad mood."It turns out, all she wanted but money, I paid her off." Dexter said and Alex scoffed."I won't take any more chances," he snapped his fingers, and two guards came. "Take care of Alice, make sure it's a clean job." He instructed, and they bow and left."Why the foul mood?" Massimo asked, they are currently in a bar."There's a possibility that Laura is pregnant and a bigger possibility that it belongs to Mason. Why wouldn't he just die and stay buried? He is still causing me trouble and Laura is thinking of an abortion." He gulped his father's glass of scotch."What is your say in this?" Dexter ask."I have to make sure she doesn't push through with it, she will never forgive herself." He said with a sad face."The Alex I know wouldn't think twice to drag herdown the clinic to get rid of it." Dexter chuckled."You know me Dexter, but I can't do that to her because I know she will live to regret it." he gulped down two more glasses."Easy on the alcohol, we don't want you getting drunk." His dad warned."On a different note, not relating to Mason, seriously I thought you would let Alice go free. I was asking myself, when did Alexander Quinn turn soft?" Dexter laughed."She had crossed the line, she tried pushing Laura into the pool but Laura was fast in pushing her in first." he remembered the incident, and he couldn't be more proud of Laura."I'll be taking her to the hospital tomorrow, she needs to see a doctor, maybe seeing the sac will change her mind." he gulp one more glass and left them.The next day as Alex said, the both of them prepared to go to the hospital for her check-up, the ride to the hospital was an uncomfortable one, Alex didn't know how to act since she was unwilling to talk.They got there and we were asked to wait for the doctor's call. Laura felt nothing inside, it was like she was dead, a living corpse."Mrs. Quinn, the doctor will see you now." The nurse announced. They went in and he asked them to sit which they did."How do you feel Mrs. Quinn?" the doctor inquired."Dead," she said with no emotions. Her attitude frightened Alex to the core."We all have that moment when we don't know how to feel, let's get on with your test." He took her blood first and sent it to the lab."I thought you said we were here to meet a Sonographer, why did they take a sample of my blood?" She asked Alex a little confused."Let them do their job, I thought it would be good to confirm your pregnancy first." He held her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.The doctor came in a few minutes later, he looked at them weirdly before sitting down."Mrs. Quinn, before we open your results, can you me why you think you are pregnant?" The doctor asked. tell"It's the same feeling I had when I was pregnant the first time, I sleep more than I used to, the morning sickness, constant nausea." She narrated."Mmm," the doctor hummed. He opened the result and read it, "Looking at your results, it shows you are not pregnant ma'am," he looked at them."What do you mean by that? Do another test please." She muttered. Alex was too stunned to talk. The doctor did another test and the results were still negative."You see Mrs. Quinn, it shows that you were just tired and your brain needed rest. Did you go through something traumatizing? We can help you," the doctor explained."So I'm not pregnant?" She asked just to be sure, and the doctor nodded. "Thank you, Lord," she smiled. Her words shocked the doctor, he looked at Alex but his face was expressionless."We will take our leave now doctor, he shook the doctor's hand and they left. The doctor just looked at the closed door confused."How do you feel?" Alex asked her, they were on their way back to the hotel."I feel good, Alex I'm sorry, I shouldn't have jumped to a conclusion." She felt embarrassed."I'm happy this misunderstanding happened, you got the chance to say what you felt. Laura holding things could be dangerous, you don't have to act like you are okay when you are not, we are here to help you with your worries." He hugged her and they stayed like that for some time."Let's go home, Mrs. Quinn" he kissed her before hitting the road.
