Kimberly noticed Laura's sour mood and wondered why her mommy was sad, she hasn't said anything since they had breakfast."Mom are you okay? Is my baby brother giving you trouble?" Came her adorable little voice."Not you brother but your dad, he is so annoying." She complained like a child."Let me tell you a secret that will cheer you up." She clasps her hands in front of her chest. "Dad is scared of roaches" Laura burst into uncontrollable laughter, she laughed so hard that her stomach hurt."I am serious" Kimberly pouted"How can the almighty Alexander Quinn be scared of roaches? I find that hard to believe." Kimberly curved her lips into a little frown."You don't believe me? Come with me, I will show you" they went to her room, she opened her toy box and removed and plastic roach and they went to Alex's study where he was busily working.Laura knocked on the door, they were told to come in so they went in, they sat down on chairs in front of the office chair behind the desk."Any problem?" He asked with raised brows"Mom is sad and she said it's all your fault." As she was talking, she tossed the roach under his table."I am doing what I am doing for her good." Laura rolled her eyes"You should settle your matters. Dad, what is that little thing under your table?" She suddenly asked"What?" He checked under his table and noticed the roach, he yelled so loud that the maids in the house heard him, and he climbed on the desk not wanting it to touch him unknown to him that it wasn't moving."Oh my gosh" Laura laughed, Kimberly joined her. They laugh until they cried, Laura couldn't believe that the almighty Alexander Quinn is scared of roaches."Calm down dad, it is plastic." She picked it up and waved it in the air and chuckled"I will kill you, Kimberly, I have told you never to pull such pranks on me again." She held her ears still laughing and muttered an unapologetic sorry."How can you be scared of roaches?" Laura asked after calming down from her laughter."Who isn't? They look like they will eat you, their antennas and tiny legs, I don't want to see those things." He sat down on his sit and rolled up his sleeve. Laura pecked his lips "you are cute but don't think I am not angry 'cause I still am roach boy." They left the room laughing."Demons" he muttered and checked under his table just in case.Later in the evening, Alex decided to take Laura to her parent's graves, they were buried in the same cemetery. They went there just the both of them, he held her hands protectively as they walk through the numerous graves which have either a skeleton or a decaying body buried under them.They finally got the first grave which was her mother's, it had the name Elizabeth Warren written on it. Dried leaves were everywhere, the grave looked unkempt. She sat down on the lawn next to her mother's grave and cleaned the dry leaves."Hi mom, it's been a while," she said with a sad smile "I am sorry for just coming, life hasn't been alright since you died, it just got better recently.""How is the afterlife?" She suddenly remembered the flowers they brought for her, so she took them from Alex and placed them on her grave "I still remember lilac is your favorite flower, I miss you, mama, why did you leave me" Alex held her shoulder to stop her from crying."You are probably wondering who he is, he is Alexander Quinn my..""Fiance.." Alex interrupted before she could say, boyfriend. She chuckled"Meet my fiance, he is nice, a little overly protective and possessive but he is caring, loving, and above all a good dad." She said looking at Alex."I love him so much." She smiled making him smile too"I am expecting, I am going to be a mom for the second time, you are probably wondering who the first child is, she is Kimberly I'll bring her here next time, she is adorable." After spending time with her mother, went to her dad's grave.Alex stayed behind to say something to her "I promise to love and cherish your daughter, I will protect her with every fiber of my being and I'll make sure she is always protected." He bowed his head as a sign of respect before leaving.Her dad's grave read Eric Warren "hi daddy, it's been a while, why didn't you tell me she was poisoning you? You just let her do as she pleased." She said trailing the carved letters on his grave."I miss you, dad, they are no more in our lives. I wish you were here with me, I love you" she muttered with a smile"Do you know she sold me off like a chip?" She asked "shocking, right? I couldn't believe it too she was never a good person." She talked to her dad's grave for a long before finally leaving with Alex.They went home, took a shower, and had dinner. Laura fell light like a big burden has been removed from her shoulders, she missed them and today she had a chance to talk to them.She looked at Alex with so much love in her eyes, he is the light at the end of her tunnel and the light is bright. She kissed him and lay on his chest."Are you okay?" He asked and she nodded"I am just feeling blessed. Thank you for coming into my life, thank you for saving me from Lady Poppy and not letting me end up with another man." He caressed her hair lovingly."I would have gotten you one way or the other, we are destined for each other and there's nothing or no one who can separate us." He kissed her hair and held her with both of us.
