Chapter - 27 ꜱᴏʀʀʏ

Her Royal Destiny

Few days later

Here I'm sitting in my room, I got discharged in the morning and my family members aren't letting me do anything not even letting me step out of the bed. Mom is more strict towards my diet and medications. Dad also visits tho he doesn't show but he cares. My brothers, my pillar of support, managed everything making me proud of them and  Aarohi came to visit me and started weeping like a kid saying 'what will happen to family if something would've happened to me'.

I wanted to reply that it would be good if I wasn't here. I wanted to stay away from them but seeing maa sa I couldn't. But I was still in guilt that I wasn't there for my little princess Jiya, she thinks I didn't notice her presence but I did how could I ignore my princess. I felt happy that after everything she was there for me. I don't know why but I feel lost like I have lost something and I need to get it — The lost piece of My life, My heart, My Aanya..

I want her in my life naah I need her, she is the need which will complete me, heal me. Yes, I agree I made a big mistake to hurt her, break her, to let her go away from me. She came to me, to find the solace, she trusted me but instead I broke her. I'm ready to mould her as mine, she's my destiny even if she isn't I'll make her my Destiny — the Destiny of Aarav singh Rajvansh.

I came out of my thoughts and smiled knowing the little princess is here and today I have decided to face her and seek forgiveness. She slowly opened the door of my room and peeked, this made me chuckle. I cleared my throat and said

"Come in"

She flinched and the door opened fully giving me a full view of my fragile princess whom I hurt. She was looking down with a cute pout as if she was nagging to the floor. She entered and looked at me, her innocent doe eyes made my eyes filled. Seeing tears in my eyes she seemed to panic and rushed towards me

"Bhai sa what happened? Is it paining? Should I call the doctor? Wait let me call Aanya di?" Instead of replying I held her and she looked at me.

"I'm sorry" I let the tears fall and she immediately hugged me

I continued "I'm s-sorry, I failed as a brother, I should've been more attentive. Please forgive me my princess. I'll do everything to earn forgiveness, give your brother a chance to resent." She cried out and hugged me tightly.

"I'll never neglect you my princess, I  know I did wrong ignoring you and ill do everything to make up to you" I said hugging her more tightly. We remained same for some time and she looked at me with her innocent eyes, I smiled and pecked her forehead.

"But bhai sa I'm still angry at you, yes I understand you have your reasons  but the truth is you ignored me and neglected me. so i won't let go of this easily " she said with a stern voice and i nodded accepting my mistake.

"Promise me you'll take that step, whatever you are feeling you'll come and share with me aur anyone in the family. if they don't listen to you you can come and complain it to me." I said to her and she kept her hand on my and promised

"Even you promise me that you'll never ignore me, even after you get married and have a family of your own" She said teasing me and in return i whacked her head.

"bhai sa...." she whined

"From where do these stupid things come in your mind??" i asked

"Hehe, one or the other day you'll get married and i heard from Maa sa that  she,ll get you married soon" she replied making me shock.

"NOOOO!!!!" I Screamed and hearing me others rushed in the room.

"What happened, Aarav? Is it hurting somewhere?" Maa asked as I looked at her in shock, and Jiya burst out laughing. And everyone looked at her amused, seeing her laugh like this made me happy.

"Mera bacha aise hi khush aur hasti rahe" Maa sa held her face with her palms and kissed her forehead making jiya smile. And then she turned towards me and gave a questioning look "Why did you scream?"

(May my child always stay happy and smiling like this.)

I Gulp remembering what jiya said, i don't wanna marry some other girl, i only need her in my life. "Maa sa i heard you are planning to get me married"

" And who said this to you?" she asked

My gaze went towards jiya who was indicating to not take her name and i chuckled "udti, udti khabar aayi mujhe "

( I just heard some rumours)

"Haa mujhe pata hai kisne ye udti khabar dii" she said looking towards jiya, who was avoiding her gaze

( Even i know who gave you this information)

"On serious note Maa sa, I'm not interested to marry any one"

"AARAV SINGH RAJVANSH, YOU BETTER COME IN TRACK, IF NOT IT WON'T TAKE ME A MINUTE TO DO THAT" She yelled making everyone flinch

"OK you both calm down, well talk on this matter later and aarav you better rest and work will be handled by your brothers" Papa ordered in his authoritative tone and everyone went out living me alone.

Ugghhh!!! Maa sa won't listen now, she'll do what she wants but only want her not any other girl and the girl i need is not even ready to talk to me.

I opened my eyes and saw my brother sleeping while I was hugging him. In that moment, it hit me that we had fallen asleep. To be honest, it felt as though Dad was with me, embracing me. My brother is like a father to me, and I'll never let him go.

I got up and went to my room to freshen up. After half an hour, I stepped out of the bathroom and walked to the closet to pick an outfit. I changed into a navy blue co-ord set, styled my hair into a ponytail, and paired the look with white heels. After doing some touch-ups and spraying my favorite YSL perfume, I grabbed my coat and stethoscope before heading out of the room.

I saw Ansh Bhai in the kitchen cooking breakfast, I went and sat on the stool near the kitchen island. He looked at me and I asked "what's for breakfast?"

He replied "Dosa"

I smiled because, of course, it's my favorite. I always used to nag my mom to make dosa for me. Sometimes she would make it, but most of the time, she avoided doing anything for me.

Bhai placed the dosa on a plate and handed it to me. I took a bite, and the flavors burst in my mouth—the perfect combination of dosa and sambar. Ummmaahhh! Bhai's cooking skills are truly amazing.

I looked up at him, smiling. "Bhai, this is so good! You've outdone yourself."

He chuckled and sat down across from me, serving himself a portion. "I learned from the best," he said, winking.

As we ate together, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort. Moments like these, shared over good food and laughter, made everything feel right in the world.

"Okay, Bhai, I'll leave now; it's getting late," I said, hugging him. He kissed my forehead, and I rushed out, heading straight to my car to start the day. Sliding into the driver's seat, I started the engine and drove to the hospital.

The city was already buzzing with morning activity, the streets alive with honking cars and hurried pedestrians. My mind raced through the appointments and cases lined up for the day. As I pulled into the hospital parking lot, I took a deep breath, preparing myself for another demanding shift.

Walking through the main entrance, I was greeted by the familiar scent of disinfectant and the rhythmic beeping of monitors. The receptionist waved as I passed by, and I nodded in acknowledgment.

"Doctor, your first patient is in Room 203," she informed me, handing over the patient's file. I flipped through the pages, skimming the details, and mentally geared up for the day ahead.

🤍

As the day came to an end, I closed the last file on my desk and leaned back, rubbing my temples. It had been a long, draining shift, but I felt a sense of accomplishment. Just as I was about to head to the changing room, my phone buzzed on the desk.

"Mom" flashed on the screen.

I hesitated, staring at the name. We rarely spoke, and when we did, it was usually strained. Sighing, I picked up the call.

"Hello," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral.

"Come home," her voice was curt, almost commanding.

"Why?" I asked, already anticipating an argument.

"We need to talk," she said, her tone leaving no room for negotiation. "It's about your marriage."

The words hit me like a cold wave. I knew this conversation was inevitable, but I wasn't prepared for it today—not after a tiring day at work.

"Mom, I'm tired. Can we not do this now?" I said, trying to deflect.

"No," she snapped. " This, can't wait. Just come home."

I let out a deep sigh, knowing she wouldn't let it go. "Fine, I'll be there," I replied before hanging up. Tossing the phone into my bag, I leaned against the wall for a moment, bracing myself for what was about to come.

The drive home felt heavier than usual, the streetlights casting fleeting shadows on the dashboard. My relationship with Mom had always been complicated—polite on the surface but filled with unspoken tension underneath. And now, the prospect of discussing my marriage made the tension unbearable.

I parked the car in front of the house and sat there for a moment, staring at the familiar facade. Taking a deep breath, I stepped out and walked up to the door. It felt like walking into a storm I wasn't sure I could handle.

I stepped inside, and there she was, sitting in the living room with the rest of the family. I sighed inwardly but kept my composure as I walked towards her. I greeted her and the others politely—I hadn't forgotten the values I was raised with, the importance of respecting elders and even the younger ones.

Without wasting a moment, she dropped the bombshell. "You'll be getting married next month," she announced, her tone as matter-of-fact as if she were discussing dinner plans.

I blinked, stunned. "Excuse me?" I asked, my voice was low but firm.

"You heard me," she said, her gaze piercing. "The proposal is good—everything's been decided."

My chest tightened, and I clenched my fists to keep my emotions in check. "You can't do this to me.."

"It was your dead father's wish, won't you fulfill it?" She asked more like blackmailing me.

"Ofcourse why won't I, but I have rights to see the man and even if dad was here he wouldn't have forced me" I exhaled sharply, trying to suppress the frustration bubbling inside me.

I turned and walked toward the door. "When you're ready to have a conversation instead of dictating my life, let me know."  With that, I left the room, the weight on my chest feeling slightly lighter but the storm in my heart far from over.
