Chapter - 24 ᴄᴏɴᴄɪᴏᴜꜱ

I opened my eyes and saw Ansh Bhai sleeping; he looked like a baby. His features resemble mom's, and looking at both of us, one could say we are a combination of mom and dad.

I got up and saw he was sitting and sleeping, he might get back pain. I woke him up and he rubbed his face and looked at and gave smile and I reciprocated. "Princess should I make you the breakfast"

"It's not necessary. I have to go to the hospital and check on Aarav," I said, remembering him, and the thought of him slipping into coma made me sad.

"Aanya don't worry that guy is strong and he won't leave our lives so easily" He chuckled while saying and I just nodded

"Do you know Aarav? Like in the past??" I asked as I felt he knew him better than anyone else. And he nodded at my response.

"Yes we were best friends??" I frowned 'were??'

"It's just we didn't have any contact with each other and now I guess he can't even recognise me as I'm a bit changed" He said and I nodded at his response.

We got up from the couch and went to our respective rooms. Yes, I have a room here, though I don't know when or how my things were arranged. I shrugged off the thought and went into the bathroom to freshen up. After finishing, I came out and put on my outfit: a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and a jacket in case I felt cold.

I came out of the room and saw Bhai standing in the living room busy with his mobile. He looked up and saw me as I gave him a questioning look..

"I'm coming with you" He straightforwardly said making me sigh.

"I'm going to my work" I retorted

"Yes I'll accompany you"

I shrugged and nodded. We both went outside and sat in the car. He drove towards the hospital, and after some time, we arrived. I got out and headed straight to Aarav's ward, where Uncle and Aunty were sitting. Seeing them made me feel bad—they love Aarav so much.

As they saw me, uncle came towards me "good morning uncle" I wished both of them and they reciprocated.

"Aanya beta when will he regain his consciousness" Aunty asked

"I'll check on him and say it to you, aunty don't worry he'll be fine soon" I went towards him and saw his pale face, his eyes were closed, and the steady beeping of the machines filled the silence in the room. I took a deep breath, trying to push down the lump forming in my throat. Gently, I placed my hand over his, feeling how cold it was.

“Aarav,” I whispered softly, "you have to get better. We’re all waiting for you."

I start to examine him and wait for some signs. We have some time, and I hope he regains consciousness; if not, he could slip into a coma, which is the last thing I want.

I sat next to him and stared at him, if only he wouldn't have broken my heart we would be married or live happily with some bickering. I held his hand and kissed it, though he broke me I can't stop loving him, in these two years I couldn't forget him. After sometime I went outside to inform the details,

"He isn't showing signs but we will wait for sometime and I hope he regains his consciousness if not he'll slip into coma.." Aunty had tears in her eyes listening to me and it's quite heartbreaking that parents have to see their children in this condition. I hope everything will be normal after Aarav recovers, then I will move on and mom is hell bent to get me married. So I guess it's a good chance that I agree with it. Aarav and I aren't made for each other, destiny is not in our terms..

Someone shook me and I saw Jiya and smiled at her though she reciprocated but the smile didn't reach her eyes. I can understand she had gone through a lot and now her brother is on the verge of dying..

"He'll be fine Jiya, he's strong enough to fight and come to consciousness" She shook her head as the tears spilled out drenching her face.

"He was strong di, but now he looks as if he willingly didn't want to stay alive. How can I be so ignorant that my brother was suffering and I was just blaming him." I shook my head and said

"It's not your fault jiya, stop blaming yourself and do you think Aarav will love it when you blame yourself. I know he neglected you but we can't ignore the fact that he loves you more than anything.." she nodded and wiped her tears.

"But everyday when he used to come home late, he looked tired as if something was bothering him, h-he looked lifeless and I saw him but didn't ask him. He would always come to me and ask me how I'm but I didn't even bother to ask if he had eaten or not." Tears filled my eyes, was he really... No he broke my heart and he wouldn't be sad because of me. Why would he??

"Dr Aanya there's a patient you've to check" Alice said and I nodded.

"I'll come in the evening to check on him ok and don't worry your brother will be fine" she nodded and I left from there not before glancing at his ward.

• Somewhere •

"Sir he's in hospital and from our resources we got to know that he isn't conscious yet and has high chances to skip in coma.." The person in front smirked when listened to his man.

"Make sure he dies then I can get my Aanya" The man nodded and left.

"Aarav Singh Rajvansh, you have to die! Because of you, I had to stay away from my love for two years. But now she's here, and you'll die!" he laughed maniacally looking at the portraits of the beautiful girl in front of him.

• Hospital •

Author's pov

Aarav was still unconscious and others were tensed, Vihaan and Atharva were handling his work and Aarav's parents were staying in the hospital. His chacha and chachi were handling things in the palace even though they were worried as Aarav was and is everyone's sweetheart, he has given his 100% to protect everyone and they are always proud of him. Seeing him in this condition broke their heart.

A nurse came with an injection but was stopped by the bodyguard "I have to give him this dose, Dr Aanya had sent me" She looked nervous and they were suspicious but let it go as she was sent by Aanya. They nodded and let her inside, she hurriedly went inside and her hands were shaking. She took out the injection and was about to inject it in his IV but was stopped by Aanya.

"What are you doing?" Making her flinch, Aanya went towards her but she pushed her and ran outside.

"Guards catch her" Aanya shouted, listening to this everyone rushed inside.

"Princess your hand is bleeding" Ansh said holding her hand

"It's nothing first let me check him" she checked Aarav and sighed

"Thank God I was there in time if not.. "

"Aanya beta what was she doing here and guards said she said you had sent her" Aarav's dad said

"No uncle I would never send any nurse to give any sort of dose and as you've seen from yesterday it was only me who personally checked him. She lied to them" She said

"I guess she was sent by the ones who shoot Bhai" Vihaan said making us nod

"I guess so and she has dropped this injection, I'll send this to the test then we'll know what this is," she said and called Alice to take the injection to the laboratory.

Atharva went and sat near Aarav and held his hand, seeing this everyone smiled in the room. Whatever happens but these brothers will never leave each other in any situation and vihaan and Atharva had handled the work perfectly in his absence.

"Bhai sa's fingers moved, h-he held m-y hand" Atharva shouted and tears spilling out of his eyes. Aanya rushed towards Aarav to check.

His eyes were closed but his orbs were moving as if he wanted to open his eyes but couldn't. She held his hand and caressed to calm him down in an instant he held her finger afraid to leave. Slowly he opened his eyes looking directly in her Ocean Blue eyes and spoke

"Alora"
