Chapter 37

Family

Playboy's Heart

After their marriage, everything in Nani and Sky's lives changed a lot, except for one thing, their unwavering love for each other. Nani had to take on a lot of responsibility after Mr. Nirav retired and handed everything over to him.

The soft chime of the bell above the jewelry store's door sounded as Nani stepped inside, a sense of calm washing over him amidst the sparkle of diamonds and the quiet hum of classical music.

It was his mother's birthday, and he wanted something special, something that would bring the same radiant joy to her face.

"Good afternoon, sir," a salesperson greeted with a warm smile. "How may I assist you today?"

"I'm looking for a diamond necklace," Nani said, his tone thoughtful. "Something elegant, timeless, just like my mom."

The salesperson nodded knowingly and began arranging several exquisite necklaces on the display counter. Nani leaned in, his focus intent, as he examined each piece carefully.

The gentle chime of the door sounded again, and familiar voices broke through the serene atmosphere.

"Well, well, isn't this a surprise," a playful voice called out.

Nani looked up, a soft smile spreading across his face as he saw Win walking in, his usual confident stride matched by the quieter presence of Dew beside him.

But what truly caught Nani's attention was the tiny figure holding Win's hand, Ariya, his and Sky's beloved daughter.

"Papa!" Ariya's voice rang out, bright and full of joy.

Nani's heart swelled at the sound, and he crouched just as Aryia let go of Win's hand and dashed toward him. Nani crouched down just in time to catch her up, planting a quick kiss on her forehead.

"What are you doing here, sweetheart?" Nani asked, brushing a strand of her jet-black hair behind her ear.

Win grinned, standing by the display counter. "We were out grabbing a bite when this little one decided she had to stop in. Said she needed to find the perfect present for her Grandma."

Dew, ever the quiet observer, smiled gently. "She was very determined." he added, his soft voice carrying warmth as he watched Ariya snuggle into Nani's chest.

Nani laughed, his heart feeling lighter than it had all day. "Is that so?" He looked at Ariya, his tone playful. "And what did you have in mind, young lady?"

Ariya pointed toward one of the necklaces on display, her eyes wide with excitement. "That one, Papa! It's shiny and pretty, just like Grandma."

The salesperson, clearly charmed by Ariya, carefully brought out the necklace she had chosen simple yet stunning diamond pendant.

As Nani held it up for a closer look, Ariya's face lit up. "Do you think she'll like it, Papa?"

Nani smiled, his voice soft and full of love. "I think she'll love it, sweetheart. Especially because you picked it out for her."

Win smirking. "It's a good thing Sky's not here. He'd probably cry over how cute this whole scene is."

Nani rolled his eyes, though the corners of his mouth twitched upward. "You know, Win, not everything has to be a comedy routine."

Dew chuckled, his laugh quiet but warm. "You two are like this every time, aren't you?"

"Every single time," Ariya chimed in, her giggles bubbling up again.

"You're too smart for your own good, little one."

As the necklace was carefully wrapped in a velvet box, Ariya leaned against Nani's shoulder, her tiny fingers playing with his shirt. "Papa, can we get cupcakes after this?"

Nani laughed softly. "Of course. Anything for you, young lady."

Win raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. "What about me? Don't I deserve a cupcake too?"

--

As Nani, Dew, Win, and Ariya arrived at the mansion, the sound of excited barking echoed through the whole mansion. Nani couldn't help but smile as he recognized the familiar chaos.

"Do you hear that?" Win asked, grinning as he nudged Dew.

Dew chuckled softly. "I think someone's chasing something."

They stepped into the living room and were met with the sight of Sky, looking slightly out of breath, chasing after a giant white puppy that was bounding around the room. The puppy's fluffy fur swished as it dashed from one side to the other, clearly enjoying the game.

"Sky!" Nani called, unable to contain his laughter at the sight.

Sky stopped for a moment, his face flushed with both amusement and frustration as he looked up at them. "This giant puppy is too fast for me!" he exclaimed.

Arya giggled. "Daddy, you can't catch him!"

Nani laughed as he walked over. "Looks like you're losing the race."

Sky gave a sheepish smile. "I can't keep up with him!"

Sky finally managed to catch the puppy, lifting it up with both hands. The giant white furball, still wriggling energetically, let out a happy bark. "Alright, alright. You win this round," Sky said, panting lightly.

Arya ran over, excited. "Can I hold him, Daddy?"

Sky smiled and carefully passed the puppy to her. "Of course, sweetheart. He's all yours. But be careful, ok?"

As Arya cuddled the giant puppy in her arms, giggling as it licked her face, Nani, Dew, and Win shared a quiet laugh together.

Just then, Bright, Groya and Prim also arrive with the gifts.

The group moved to the dining area, where Mrs. Hari and Mr. Nirav was seated, surrounded by flowers and decorations for her birthday. The table was filled with delicious treats, her favorite dishes, and a beautiful cake in the center. The entire family had gathered, and there was a sense of joy that filled the air.

As everyone settled around the table, laughter and conversation flowed easily. Dew sat next to Arya, talking softly as she continued to cuddle the puppy, while Win and Groya exchanged playful banter about the day's events. Prim and Bright shared a few jokes, causing everyone to laugh.

Sky gently placed his hand on Nani's, the warmth of his touch grounding him in the midst of the busy room. As laughter and chatter filled the air, Sky noticed how Nani looked content but also a little weary.

"You look tired," Sky said softly, his voice full of care.

Nani didn't need to answer. Instead, he leaned his head onto Sky's shoulder, eyes closing for a moment to soak in the peacefulness of the moment. The sounds of their loved ones laughing, talking, and the playful thump of the puppy's paws on the floor wrapped around him like a cozy blanket. It was a beautiful day, full of joy and celebration, but there was also the weight of it all on his shoulders.

Without needing to speak, Sky wrapped his arm around Nani's shoulders, pulling him a little closer. "You don't have to do everything on your own, next time, Let me help you, ok?"

Nani simply nodded, a soft smile curling on his lips as the sound of Arya's giggles filled the air and the puppy's playful barks echoed in the background. With Sky beside him, it felt like everything was just as it should be. Safe. Loved. And perfect, in its own way.
