Chapter 23

Mr. Nirav sat in his dimly lit office, the city skyline stretching out behind him. The quiet hum of the room was interrupted by a knock on the door. His trusted aide stepped in, holding an iPad.

"Sir, the statement has been released," the man said, placing the device on the desk before stepping back.

Mr. Nirav picked up the iPad, his sharp eyes scanning the screen. Sky's statement was brief, calculated, and carefully worded. It confirmed the blurry photo was of him, but it gave no mention of the other person in the picture.

A small laugh escaped his lips as he set the iPad down. "This actor is really willing to sacrifice his reputation for Nani." he murmured, his voice carrying a tone of both amusement and intrigue.

It had been his plan all along, leaking the photo to stir the pot. He needed to uncover Sky's true intentions. Would Sky exploit Nani's identity, the fact that he is dating the heir of one of Thailand's wealthiest families to secure his standing in society? Or would he carry the burden alone, protecting his son at all costs?

A slow sigh escaped Mr. Nirav as he leaned back in his chair. "Protecting someone else at your own expense," he murmured, his voice thoughtful. "Not many have the backbone for that."

The man who had handed him the iPad earlier stood by the door, silent but observant. Mr. Nirav glanced at him, his expression softening just slightly.

"Nani doesn't need someone who bends to every whim of society." Mr. Nirav said, more to himself than to anyone else. "He needs someone who can stand tall when the storms come, someone who will shield him even if it means facing the world alone. Sky... he's proven that he's willing to do just that."

The man by the door hesitated before speaking. "So, does this mean you approve, sir?"

A faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Approve? Let's just say I no longer have doubts. If Sky is willing to risk everything for Nani, then he's earned my trust. And perhaps... he's earned a place by my son's side."

The man nodded, a hint of relief crossing his face.

Mr. Nirav's sharp gaze softening ever so slightly as he picked up the iPad again. "Love like that isn't easy to find. If Nani has found someone who cherishes him like this, who am I to stand in the way?"

Nani had just landed in Thailand, and he was already dialing Sky's number. Sitting in the back of his family's black car, he stared at his phone, hoping Sky would answer. But as each call went to voicemail, his worry mixed with frustration.

His fingers drummed impatiently on his knee, his jaw tight as he glanced out the window. Sky shutting him out again. The new could impact Sky's reputation so much and still, he was handling it alone, stubborn as ever.

"Damn it, Sky." Nani muttered under his breath, his tone a mix of worry and annoyance. He rubbed his temples, trying to suppress the growing urge to yell at the Sk the next time he saw him. Should he teach Sky a lesson this time?

"Stubborn puppy, you're going to learn not to handle things alone when I'm here for you." He could already picture Sky's wide, guilty eyes, the way he'd stammer excuses. Nani knew he wouldn't stay mad for long, but that didn't mean Sky didn't deserve a little pushback.

Nani's phone buzzed, pulling him out of his thoughts. Without hesitation, he answered.

"Any updates?" Nani's voice was sharp and direct.

"Khun Sky is heading to his place now. As for the person behind the news, we're still tracking," the man reported.

"Good. I want every detail, find out who's behind this. Keep me updated," Nani replied before hanging up.

He turned to the his man who is driving, his tone firm. "Take me to Sky's place."

Divika and Ter had insisted Sky go home and rest after posting his statement, reassuring him that everything was slowly coming under control. But even in the quiet of his apartment, Sky's mind wouldn't stop racing. The weight of the situation bore down on him, each thought spiraling into another.

Lost in his overthinking, he nearly jumped when he heard a knock at the door. His heart skipped a beat as he cautiously walked over and opened it.

Nani stood in front of Sky, looking frustrated and worried. Sky was taken aback—this was the first time they'd seen each other in a year. He instinctively stepped forward, wanting to hug Nani, but Nani stopped him.

"Don't touch me," Nani said, his voice cold.

Sky's eyes widened, and he felt his chest tighten. He knew Nani would be mad, but hearing those words still hurt. His eyes filled with tears, and he reached for the edge of Nani's shirt, not wanting to be so far apart.

"Don't try that puppy face. It won't work this time," Nani said, seeing through Sky's attempt to soften him.

Sky's shoulders slumped, but he still held on to the edge of Nani's shirt.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to shut me out when you have problems? Do you think I can't handle this as well as you? That's why you always do this to me." Nani's words cut deep, his frustration clear.

Sky shook his head, tears spilling down his cheeks as he softly clutched the shirt, trying to explain himself. "I'm sorry... I just didn't want you to get involved in this mess because of me."

Nani's jaw tightened, and his voice hardened, "Sky Wongravee, since when did I care about what other people think? You're an actor. Your reputation is the first thing you have to protect. And I don't need you to protect me, okay?"

Sky's tears flowed freely now, his heart aching with each word Nani said. The weight of Nani's harshness hit him harder than he expected.

"Don't you dare crying when you had the courage to hide this from me." Nani's voice wavered, frustration mixing with pain. "Did I ever ask you to protect me?"

Sky shook his head, unable to speak through his sobs since the words wouldn't come out.

Nani bit down on his cheek, trying to suppress his own emotions. He knew Sky was just trying to protect him, but he hated seeing Sky carry all the weight alone, especially when Sky was using himself as a shield to protect him. Nani didn't want that, not from Sky. He just wanted to be there for Sky.

Sky's teary eyes met Nani's, his chest heavy with emotion. Slowly, he leaned in, wrapping his arms around Nani's waist, and rested his head on Nani's shoulder.

Nani let out a deep breath, knowing that every time Sky acted like this, he found himself giving in, unable to stay angry. It was like Sky knew just how to break down his walls, leaving him helpless.

"Stop crying." Nani said, his voice softer than before as both of his hands wrapped around Sky's broad shoulders.

Sky lifted his head, standing tall as he gently kissed Nani on the cheek. "I'm sorry. I will never do that again.

Nani looked into Sky's eyes, his expression a mix of frustration and concern. "Can I really believe you?" he asked as he knew Sky would still did the same thing if this happen again. "You always do this. Shutting me out when things go wrong. Every time I try to scold you, all you do is cry, but you never seem to remember what I said."

"I just don't know how to handle things sometimes. But I promise, I'll try... I'll try to be better. I won't shut you out again."

"You can say whatever you want, but I'm not gonna believe you anymore, idiot." Nani said, his tone soft but firm, as he gently wiped the tear from Sky's face.

Sky pouted a little at Nani's words, but Sky was surprised when Nani stood on tip toes and kissed Sky on the lips.

Sky froze for a moment, eyes wide in surprise, before slowly closing them as he felt Nani's lips against his. It was brief, but the warmth of the kiss lingered in the air, leaving Sky speechless. When Nani pulled away, their gazes locked.

"That's what you get for being stubborn," Nani said quietly, his voice a little hoarse.

Sky leaned in again, his heart racing, as he couldn't help but crave the closeness, wanting more of Nani's warmth and the feeling of his lips. Nani part his lip slightly to let Sky shoved into his mouth, to feel the tastes inside.

Sky could feel Nani's hand inside his shirt. Sky pull back slightly as his mouth find the way to Nani's neck leaving marks there. And kissing Nani's mole on his neck hard. Sky come to Nani's lip again, more aggressive than before.

Without breaking the kiss, Sky began to unbutton Nani's shirt. and throw it on the floor. Sky's hand go around Nani's body, make Sky realize that Nani become more skinny than before.

Sky deepen the kiss and want Nani to be weak on his feet so he can lift Nani up. Nani pushed Sky slightly as he trying to catch his breath. " I can't breath."

Sky ignored Nani's protests and lifted him up, just like he always did whenever they kissed. Nani wrapped his arms tightly around Sky's neck, holding on for balance. Sky walk into the his room and drop both of their body on the bed.

Sky look at Nani's face and couldn't bring himself to look away. Nani's lip were slightly red and swollen. Nani has round eyes as a kitten and now his eyes become more round as his feeling is in a messy state right now.

Sky softly pressing his lip on Nani's eyelid, before going down to kiss him again.

Nani's hands found their way on Sky board shoulder. Sky move form Nani's lip, kissing down until he reach Nani's nipples. Sky suck one of his nipple and move to nibble the other one one hard make Nani let out a moan.

At this point, Nani knew there was no way he could bring himself back to London, no matter what. But if he really had  to return to London, he would do anything to take this stubborn puppy along with him, because being apart again wasn't something his heart could bear.
