Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love

Chapter 72 You Can’t By the time tilise returned to his senses, Jason’s car had already disappeared from sight. He hurriedly changed #ars and pursued the other vahide Elliot had comevited with the doctor himself, and was told that Corynn’s legs were prone to scarring. And so, he had traveled abroad to procure the specific medication and other specialty salves that would help her treat her Other than that, tillot was also carrying a diamond ring he had personally designed. It was nestled inside a velvet box, tucked inside his jacket pocket. He planned to win Corryn back and put it on her finger.

toe had rushed over straight from the airport, not even stopping for a simple snack. What greeted him was the sight of Corynn holding Jason’s hand.

Just like that, he felt his entire world crumble before his very eyes.

At last, Elliot spotted Jason’s car parked in the driveway of a nearby hotel. He quickly followed suit, but a waitress stopped him before he could even enter the building “Apolonjes, sir,” she said with a polite smile. “I’m afraid we won’t be receiving any guests today.”

“I am a friend of the guests who went inside just now,” Elliot ventured.

He knew all too well what it meant when the hotel turned away all prospective guests–Jason had chartered the whole place.

Even from where Elliot stood, he could see the well–decorated hall. There were flowers everywhere. He would bet good money that Jason was going to propose to Corynn today, at this hotel.

The thought plunged Elliot into a pit of despair.

No, he could never allow Corynn to marry Jason.

“Is that so?” the waitress murmured, pulling him back to the present. “Then you must know their names-”

“Corynn and Jason,” Elliot said impatiently.

The waitress nodded and courteously stepped aside.

It wasn’t until Elliot was inside the hall that he realized just how extravagant the decorations were. The whole floor was filled with baskets and vases of roses, leaving only enough space to make a small path. Corynn stood amidst the roses, and Elliot watched in horror as Jason slowly walked up to her and got down on one knee.

He wasn’t particularly loud when he spoke, but his words reached Elliot very clearly.

“Thank you for choosing to be with me, Corynn.”

Elliot felt a stabbing pain in his heart. He swallowed the scream that bubbled in his throat, demanding Corynn to reject Jason.

But when she reached out a hand toward the roses, Elliot’s heart lurched inside his chest. It was as if his body 12:59 had a mind of its own, and it acted on pure instinct.

“You cannot be with him!”

A tense silence filled the hall as everyone turned in Elliot’s direction.

Corynn immediately withdrew her hand without her even realizing. She wasn’t expecting to see Elliot here.

How did he even know where to find her?

Jason, Erick, and Shirley all had dark expressions on their faces.

The couple were particularly disappointed, as they had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Why did Elliot have to appear and ruin everything?

Who did he think he was to tell Corynn what to do?

Erick stormed toward the door, with Shirley trailing behind him.

“What the hell are you doing here? This is an important day to Corynn, I will not have you spoil it. Now, go away! You are not welcome here!” Erick once had a good impression of Elliot because the young man had saved Corynn’s life, but it was short–

lived and now completely gone.

He wondered why the staff had even let Elliot in. They should have known that he was here to cause trouble. Shirley sidled up next to her husband and spoke to Elliot in a stern voice. “Look, it hasn’t been easy for Corynn to move on with her life. Can’t you just let her go, once and for all? You’ve hurt her more times than any human being deserves to suffer!”

Elliot was rooted to the spot, shaken by the confrontation, yet choosing to ignore the couple in front of him. His eyes were fixed on Corynn’s face. “Corynn, please... You can’t...”

“How dare you dictate her decisions?!” Erick roared in fury. “You have no right! I am telling you right now, this is the only marriage that I approve! Her mother and I both approve!”

His eyes were burning with rage as he glared at Elliot. Corynn’s best days were well within her reach. Erick couldn’t let this bastard destroy that.

Elliot didn’t acknowledge the angry couple. Instead, he took a deep breath and strode past them before breaking into a run. He rushed to Corynn without even glancing at Jason. Then, before anyone could react, Elliot grabbed Corynn’s hand. He was going to run away with her.
