Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love

Chapter 7 Come Back To My Side After several rounds of drinks, Corynn set her glass down on the table, feeling a bit stifled inside the private room.

Seeing that Jason and Erick were still chatting happily, Corynn excused herself quietly, mumbling something to Shirley about needing to go outside for some fresh air.

She had drunk quite a bit, and though she could still think straight, she had started to feel a bit dizzy.

Corynn headed to the bathroom to splash some cold water on her hot cheeks. She looked up at her reflection in the mirror, only to see that her face was flushed.

She leaned against the open window and drank in the fresh air, which sobered her up a little. Feeling satisfied and refreshed, she did a quick touch up of her makeup then grabbed her bag, ready to return to the private room.

But just as she stepped out of the girl’s bathroom, she nearly ran into a tall man clad in black.

“Oh, excuse me, sir-” Corynn instinctively stepped back apologetically, only to find that the man she had run into had no intention of moving. Frowning, she looked up, her words catching in her throat as she recognized who it was–the man was none other than Elliot.

“I said, excuse me,” she reiterated, her eyes downcast.

Elliot stood there, motionless, staring at her familiar face in silence. Three years ago, Corynn had been delicate and demure, her straight, unremarkable hair a testament to her innocence. Now, her vibrant curls lent her a maturity that only deepened her allure.

Most poignantly, her eyes no longer held the familiar affection he once knew.

During the years Corynn was gone, Elliot dreamed of her every night, a persistent ache of loneliness gnawing at him.

Without a word, he suddenly grabbed her and pulled her into a stall in the women’s restroom.

Pressing Corynn against the wall, he locked the door behind them. They were so close that even their clothes couldn’t fully block the body heat between them.

Aghast, Corynn growled at him angrily, “Are you insane? This is the women’s restroom!”

Instead of answering her, Elliot inhaled her long–lost scent greedily. Pinching her chin, he forced her to look up at him and demanded, “Where the hell did you go all those years ago?”

“Excuse me?” Corynn retorted, her voice icy. “Do I know you?”

16:38 Elliot’s grip on her hand slowly loosened. “Corynn, I need you...”

Hearing this, Corynn almost laughed out loud. This heartless man had been so cold to her back then. How could she believe a word he said now? She was no longer the young, naive, and lovestruck Corynn who was willing to follow him to the ends of the earth.

“Sorry, I don’t believe we’ve met.”

Corynn pushed him away and tried to escape, only for her arm to be seized again. Taking a deep breath, she glared at Elliot from over her shoulder, her expression frosty. “What the hell do you want?”

“Corynn, come back to my side.” His low, familiar voice filled her ears.

“How many times do I have to tell you that I don’t know you?” Corynn’s patience was wearing thin. The face before her, once capable of sending butterflies to her stomach, no longer stirred any feelings of love in her heart.

“Corynn, you can’t fool me,” Elliot said with a soft chuckle.

“Fine, the jig’s up. I know you. So, what? We broke up, so we might as well be strangers,” Corynn finally snapped, forcefully prying his fingers off her arm.

“You’re the one who told me to leave, so I left. Now, you’re telling me to come back, so you expect me to come back? Do you think I’m your pet, someone you can snap your fingers at? Elliot, I’m a human being! I have my dignity!”

She was growing increasingly angry, unable to believe a single word that came from Elliot’s mouth.

“That’s not what I meant...”

“Then what do you mean? Do you want me to come back and keep your bed warm, is that it? Humph! You’re the esteemed Mr.

Andrews, while I’m just a nobody! I can’t afford to play your stupid games!”

Back then, because she had stubbornly refused to know her place, her family had become a laughingstock. In Elliot’s social circle, few people respected her.

Corynn finally succeeded in prying Elliot’s hand off her arm. She locked eyes with him, enunciating each word clearly as she said, “Mr. Andrews, I’m sure someone of your stature won’t lack women. I, on the other hand, have learned my lesson.”

Indeed, she wasn’t about to make the same mistake twice.

“Corynn...”

“Elliot, if I come back to your side, what then? Do you think I’m so cheap that I’d be willing to be your mistress?”

When Elliot didn’t respond, she suddenly burst into laughter. She reached out and cupped his cheek, her thumb resting on his thin lips. Despite all the time that had passed, he hadn’t changed–he was still noble and handsome, yet just as cold and unfeeling.

“If you want me back, then announce to everyone that I’m the one you’ll be marrying.” She looked at Elliot with a grin, knowing full well that such a condition was impossible for him to fulfill.

Sure enough, Elliot’s continued silence was the answer Corynn expected. She let out a light chuckle, withdrew her hand, and quickly walked away, her high heels clicking against the floor.

Elliot watched her retreating figure, his hands clenched into fists.

The cool touch of Corynn’s fingers had instantly triggered a long–dormant desire within him.

His breathing became heavy, and he had to splash cold water on his face several times to quell it. @

Only after a year of Corynn’s absence, he realized–much to his chagrin–that his body had become accustomed to Corynn. This meant that only Corynn could arouse his desire.

No one else could stir his passion but her.
