Chapter 64

Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love

Chapter 64 Delivering The Invitation When Amanda dialed Elliot’s phone once again, an automated voice informed her that his phone was turned off.

Gritting her teeth in anger, she unconsciously gripped her phone tightly until her knuckles turned pale.

She had been trying to contact Elliot for the past week without success. Even Kaden hadn’t told her anything of value when she asked him about her fiance’s whereabouts. He had only said that Elliot was busy.

What on earth could he possibly be busy with?

Most likely, he was keeping himself occupied with trying to find out the culprit behind the attack on that bitch, Corynn!

The only reason Amanda hadn’t run mad already was because Owen kept reassuring her that all would be well. She had already received her custom–made wedding dress and the distribution of the invitations to the wedding was already been undertaken by the Andrews family. There was no official announcement yet, but Owen had told her that he would release the news in Orelens at the beginning of the month.

Pursing her lips, Amanda looked at the delightfully decorated wedding invitation in her hand and her anger inexplicably subsided.

Standing up, she instructed a maid to get her bag for her, donned her sunglasses, and walked out of the door with a smile on her face.

There was someone special who definitely had to receive an invitation.

After having some high–quality tonics prepared, Amanda gathered an entourage and headed to the hospital together with them.

Corynn had just managed to find a moment of peace and was on the verge of getting some much–needed sleep when she was derailed by the news of Amanda’s visit. Though she wanted to reject seeing Amanda initially, Corynn changed her mind, believing she could use the opportunity to ask some questions about her ordeal.

The moment Amanda walked into Corynn’s room, she scanned it from top to bottom, then took off her sunglasses and turned to look at Corynn. With a scoff, she said, “Your room is quite underwhelming. I expected better.”

“Just tell me why you are here and skip the pretense, We know each other too well for that,” Corynn replie with a wave of her hand.

Amanda chuckled lightly and said, “You are right, there’s no need to beat around the bush. I am actually here to see how much you have recovered. Though the fact that you survived doesn’t delight my heart, that doesn’t mean that I was behind your attack.”

< Chapter 64 Delivering The Invitation Remembering how Elliot and Jason had confronted her, Amanda shook her head and chuckled mockingly, saying, “I’m really interested in knowing how you do it, Corynn. How on earth are you able to get men to flock to you and defend you? I’m not ashamed to tell you that I’m envious of such impeccable ability.”

Corynn simply frowned and said nothing. Seeing this, Amanda walked up to Corynn, pulled out an invitation from her bag, and handed it to Corynn.

As she collected it, Amanda said with a sneer, “I really wished you were dead when I got news of what happened to you. Alas, you survived, and I got wrongly accused of what had happened. Anyway, the card in your hand is an invitation to the wedding between me and Elliot. It’s scheduled to be held next month and your presence would be welcomed.”

After she finished speaking, a look of triumph appeared on Amanda’s face.

However, Corynn found the whole situation quite ironic.

Less than two hours ago, Elliot had been here, professing his love to her. And now, his fiancee was here to hand her their wedding invitation.

“I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to be there. After all, I intend to stay as far away as possible from both of you,” Corynn said and tossed the invitation aside like it was the most useless thing she had ever come across.

“That would be smart of you. However, I didn’t come all the way here to just hand you an invitation card, I also brought you some tonics. After all, we do know each other quite well,” Amanda said and called out for her entourage to bring in the tonics, which quickly took up half of the room.

“I meant what I said before, Corynn. You are someone that I admire a lot. It’s quite a pity that we can’t be friends,” Amanda remarked and pretended to be in a saddened state.

“If that’s all, then you should leave now,” Corynn said without an iota of emotion on her face as she looked at the piles of tonics Amanda had brought.

“Why are you trying to get rid of me so quickly? We can catch up on other things,” Amanda said, then stood up and began to inspect every corner of the room, even taking a peek into the toilet, clearly searching for someone.

“I’m the only one here,” Corynn said with a hint of irritation in her voice.

Amanda said nothing and kept searching the room until she was certain that there was no one else around. With a huff, she turned toward the door and headed out, closely followed by her entourage.
