Chapter 53
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 53 Heâs Like That With Everyone âElliot, how dare you?!â Jeremy reprimanded, his voice growing increasingly loud.
Before Elliot could respond, he pointed a finger at Elliot and continued, âBecause of your groundless accusations, sheâs crying her eyes out alone in her room. What on earth were you thinking?â
Turning a deaf ear to Jeremyâs scolding, Elliot simply said, âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâm leaving.â
He turned and walked away without waiting for a response.
His blatant disrespect only added fuel to the fire, causing Jeremyâs anger to boil over. He roared, âElliot, do you even care about my daughter?!â
Elliot didnât even look back, striding out of Willis Mansion as though nothing had happened.
Seeing no reason to stay, Jason also took his leave.
Jeremy clutched his heaving chest, seething with rage as he watched the two men walk out the door.
This bastard didnât give a damn about his daughter at all!
After taking a few deep breaths to calm his boiling anger, Jeremy went upstairs and knocked on Amandaâs door gently.
Amanda, who was crying in bed, buried her head under the covers when she heard the knock. âLeave me alone!â she yelled, her voice muffled.
âAmanda, itâs Dad. Please open the door. I need to talk to you, okay?â Jeremy coaxed her patiently.
Amanda begrudgingly climbed out of bed and opened the door, looking up woefully at her father like an injured child.
âDo you still want to marry Elliot?â Jeremy asked gently.
Amanda nodded without hesitation.
âBut you saw what Elliot did tonight. He doesnât care about you at all. How can I rest easy, letting you marry a guy like him?â
Jeremy asked in a strained tone, his heart aching.
Amanda was his only child, born to his late wife. He couldnât bear the thought of handing her over to a unfeeling bastard like Elliot.
âDad, Elliotâs like that with everyone. Donât worry about it. Besides, didnât we already agree with Owen that I would marry Elliot on my birthday?â Amanda tried to reassure him.
Jeremy still hesitated. After all, Elliotâs attitude just now was eyeâopening to just how cold he really was.

12:14 âDad, maybe Elliot will warm up to me once weâre married. And in our circle, who doesnât have a past? Besides, our union with the Andrews family will only make us stronger,â Amanda reassured her father.
Jeremy sighed, stroking Amandaâs head dotingly. âI just worry about you.â
Amandaâs obsession with Elliot wasnât anything new, but he still feared for her happiness.
It seemed that he had to take matters into his own hands now. He couldnât let Corynn live any longer, or else Elliot would never be able to marry Amanda and settle down.
âWas it you who ordered the attack on that woman?â Jeremy suddenly asked.
Amanda clung to his arm, pouting like a spoiled child. âOf course not! I would never do such a thing.â
Jeremy patted her shoulder. âGood, good. Youâd better not get involved in such things, understand?â
He didnât want his daughter tainted by the dark side of humanity; he preferred to handle those matters himself.
Amanda nodded dutifully.
âBut donât worry, my dear. I wonât let anyone mistreat my precious daughter!â Jeremy vowed.
âAnd I wonât let anyone mistreat me!â Amanda echoed, releasing his arm. She walked over to her floorâto- ceiling window and looked out.
Jasonâs car had just pulled out of the driveway.
âDad, I really envy that woman. She has both Elliotâs love and Jasonâs, too. Even though sheâs not as good as me, she has such good luck,â Amanda murmured discontentedly.
Jeremy walked over, hugging her close.
âYouâre my one and only daughter. Iâll give you whatever you wantâeven the sun, moon, and stars are all yours,â he said dotingly.
Amanda responded softly, a satisfied smile playing at her lips.
