Chapter 102

Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love

Chapter 102 Her Ears Are Burning Outside the door, Jason repeated his question with concern. When Corynn heard it, she blurted out, “What condition?”

For some reason, as soon as Elliot finished speaking, Corynn noticed a sly smile on his face. Not even one second after asking him that, she regretted it.

“I haven’t decided yet. I’ll tell you when I figure it out,” he answered.

“But you can’t ask too much. If you want me to break up with Jason, you’d better give up,” Corynn firmly stated.

Just as Elliot opened his mouth to speak, Corynn got up from the bed despite the pain and pushed him into the bathroom. “Go in, and don’t make any noise!”

With that, she shut the bathroom door.

Elliot stood there, his lips pursed in frustration.

How annoying this was!

After calming down, Corynn tidied her messy hair and opened the door of the ward.

“Hey, Jason. Sorry to keep you waiting,” she said with a forced smile.

“I thought you weren’t feeling well. I was relieved to see that you are fine,” Jason thoughtfully said.

Without further ado, he followed Corynn into the room. When he saw her awkward walking posture, the smile on his face faded slightly before he looked away.

“Why is the door locked?” Jason asked as he helped Corynn sit down. When he spoke, he acted as if he hadn’t noticed anything unusual.

“Oh, I was afraid what happened last time would happen again, so I locked the door,” Corynn explained.

Jason nodded as if he believed her.

While tucking Corynn in, he noticed a box of ointment at the end of the bed, and the white quilt was a little wet.

Corynn lifted her gaze and saw Jason staring at the stain. What Elliot had just done flashed in her mind, making her ears red.

She expected Jason to ask something, but he simply looked away, opened the thermos, poured a bowl of soup, and handed it to her.

“Come on. Have some soup.”

Chapter 102 Her Ears Are Burning Corynn glanced at him and quickly lowered her head. Did Jason suspect anything?

She could easily explain the stain by saying she got it wet after coming out of the bathroom. However, she couldn’t bring herself to lie to him.

Silence seemed like the best way to get through this moment.

Corynn took a sip of the soup absent–mindedly. She was uneasy due to the fact that Elliot was hiding nearby.

About ten minutes later, Jason suddenly stood up.

Corynn’s heart leapt into her throat.

“W–where are you going?”

“To the restroom. What’s the matter?” Jason asked while staring at her with a frown.

“Oh. N–nothing.” Corynn replied. Desperate to concoct an excuse, she shouted to Jason, whose hand was on the doorknob. “Wait a minute!”

Puzzled, Jason turned around to face her. “What’s wrong?”

“T–the toilet’s clogged! Don’t go in!” Corynn blurted out. She couldn’t find a better reason than this.

Jason’s curiosity was piqued. “If it’s clogged, I should have a look.”

“No, don’t!” Corynn interjected. “How can you do such a thing? Besides, it’s stinky inside. You shouldn’t look at it!”

If Jason went inside, he would definitely see Elliot. Besides, there was nowhere else to hide in the bathroom.

Jason turned around, and his eyes landed on the ointment again.

The ointment was labeled in a foreign language. It wasn’t produced domestically. As far as he knew, this brand wasn’t sold in the country. It was unlikely to be in the hospital either.

Someone must have come to see Corynn.

Jason looked at the bathroom door, suspicion growing in his mind.
