Today is the day of the Halloween dance, At first I wasn't going to attend but Scarlett convinced me to go with her.

I sat at my vanity doing my makeup—- no way I was going way out for this, I decided on just doing a skeleton on my face.

I wasn't bad at doing makeup up but I also wasn't the best.

After I finished doing the design I put on my black halter neck dress and paired it with my black heels.

I straightened my hair—- I was tired of maintaining my curls so I washed my hair yesterday night and straightened it.

I sprayed some of my perfume before I grabbed my phone off my bed and made my way towards the kitchen.

"Girlll you look great you're gonna have all eyes on you tonight" Scarlett said once I walked out turning her attention towards me.

"Thank you" I chuckled nervously before I looked at her outfit she looked so amazing—- her theme was an angel.

So she had on a tight white dress that was a corset at the top and she had the halo above her head which was clipped into her hair.

"You look great too" I smiled making her smile as well. " thank you, now let's get going Nick is here to pick us up" Scarlett said as she grabbed her purse and phone.

I was sitting at a table with my friends we were talking and laughing having a good time together when Dylan walked up to me—- I haven't talked to her since Avery pulled me away from her.

"Do you want to dance—- I-uh to like make up for the last one" she asked shyly as she refused to make eye contact with me.

"Sure" I smiled lightly before taking her hand—- we made our way through the kids that were dancing.

Once we found an open spot we started to dance together—— before we started talking.

"How have you been? Sorry if it seems like I've been avoiding you" Dylan started cutting through the silence between us.

" I've been good, and it's okay I understand how have you been" I questioned as I let my gaze wander around the room.

"I've been good, I-I've missed talking to you" she said and just as I opened my mouth to reply she put her finger up telling me to wait.

"Listen what happened a few weeks ago I don't want to happen again I mean don't get me wrong your a great person but I have my eyes on someone else—- I still want to be friends with you though" she quickly explained rambling a bit.

"I was going to say the same exact thing— I think we had a great bond before everything happened and I hope we can get it back" I smiled lightly just before my eyes connected with dark brown ones.

This is exactly why I needed to stop looking around the room.

She was leaned up against the wall, talking to one of her teacher friends but she was paying them no attention as her gaze was on me and Dylan.

I watched as she nodded her head across the room my gaze followed before it connected with the bathroom.

I rolled my eyes at her before turning my attention back towards Dylan.

"Hey I'll be back— gotta do something real quick" I said before quickly walking through the crowd and towards the bathroom.

Thankfully when I got there, no one was inside.

I stood in front of the mirror reapplying my lipgloss when I heard the door slam shut and the click of the door locking.

" I'm surprised you came" I heard Avery's voice before I turned Around to face her , her eyes trailing up and down my body before connecting with my eyes again.

"Yea me too" I replied before I looked down at the ground not really interested in this conversation.

"I'm Sorry" she started off making me let out a heavy sigh as I pushed my self off the sink, ready to leave.

"Wait" she said before she pushed me up against the wall keeping me from leaving.

"I was scared" she breathed out making me look up at her. " about what" she rubbed her face in her hands as she backed away from me.

" of this Arabella! I'm feeling things that I shouldn't, you're my student this isn't okay" she said angrily—- it seemed as if she was more angry at herself.

" I don't want to risk anything okay—- I like you Arabella obviously but you— you I can't put you in this position anymore that's why I pushed away" she said as she held a heavy gaze with me.

I closed my eyes tightly as I felt tears start to form.

"It's my choice Avery not yours—- if I'm willing to risk my chances at getting expelled then so be it!" I replied angrily.

" No—- you've made it this far , this isn't an easy school to get accepted in and your here for law there's no way your gonna ruin your dreams for me" she added making me feel so much more angrier she can't choose for me it's my decision.

"Then why am I in here right now—- if you're not going to let me pick" I questioned as I crossed my arms.

I slowly walked towards her—- she backed up until she was against the wall no where else to go.

"Let me pick Avery" for once I seen something more vulnerable flash through her eyes.

Not long after her eyes trailed down to my lips before they quickly connected back with mine.

It was like my words brought a charge to the room—- both of us leaning in slowly.

Our lips connected together—- her lips were soft she pressed harder against me before she flipped us my back against the wall now.

A rush of heat rushed through my body, my lips parting as the kiss deepened, matching her pace my arms wrapped around her waist pulling her closer if that was even possible.

Her hand finds its way up to cup my cheek while the other one lightly holds my back. As the kiss continues my hands come up to her hair pulling it lightly making her release a soft groan.

The kiss is so much more than I thought it would be—-we both pulled back slowly needing to catch our breath.

"You come trick or treating with me and Calista tomorrow" Avery asked still out of breath.

" yes but I'm still mad at you" I replied angrily before there was knocking at the door.

"Yo I need the bathroom" a voice was heard from behind the door. " we'll talk about this later" she said as she fixed my hair for me connected our lips one more time before letting me leave the bathroom.
