'Okay Kacey, you've suffered short-term memory loss by hitting your head, I'm so sorry,'

'What year is it?' I ask in panic

'It's 2016,'

'No!'

The nurse nods her head sympathetically,

'W-Will it come back?' My mum stutters,

'It's hard to tell, it will most likely come back but there's no way of predicting when,'

Without another word, my mum stands up and walks out of the room along with the nurse.

Seconds later, a tall boy walks through the door and holds my hand,

'I'm sorry I-I don't know you?' I ask in confusion,

At that point I see his face drop and fill with worry, he tells me his name is Perri and that he's my boyfriend but I'm only a small child, I'm sure I am. Although my body looks a lot older? He shows me pictures of us and I don't believe it's me until he tells me I'm 16, he seems pretty genuine so I believe what he says, he tells me we met by bumping into each other, then he saw me in the park and I told him about what happened to my Dad, when I asked what happened he stood up and left the room,

'Oh Kacey,' My Mum sighs,

'Mum? What's wrong with Dad?' Then tears begin to form in her eyes,

'Mum,' I say again in worry,

'Kacey, your father died of cancer in 2011,'

'No?' I shake my head not believing her, and it's not until I look at her face again until I realize it's true. It was only yesterday we were playing football in the garden, eating our homemade cakes and talking about how English was better than science,

I burst out crying,

'NO,' I cry, 'No, not dad,' I sob, turning my head into my pillow and crying even harder,

'Shh, shh,' My mum says, standing up and hugging me in attempt to comfort me,

I cry hard into the crook of her neck and she rocks me gently, just as she did when I was a child.

'And you have a baby brother,' she whispers into my ear waking me up. I open my eyes and realise she's laying next to me, twirling my hair in between her fingers,

'I do?'

'Yeah and you're still best friends with Malin and Cam,'

'Good,' I chuckle,

'And that boy that came in, his names Perri, he's your boyfriend,' She nods her head to Perri through the window, he was sat on the chair outside the room with his head in his hands, tapping one foot on the floor.

My mum sits back in the chair and I turn around to face her,

'He's been sat there all day,' She smiles,

'And he's so good looking,' I whisper,

'Yep, he's very handsome,' She chuckles 'And he's all yours,'

'I feel like I've seen those other two before,' I mumble,

'Yeah they're from diversity,'

'NO WAY!'

'Yeah,' She laughs,

I didn't really pay much attention to them but I know they're amazing dancers,

'That's the little kid with the afro!' I gasp,

My mum nods smiling,

'He's so big now!' I still can't believe it,

'He's amazing Kacey, he cares so much for you. The reason you're in here is because my boyfriend Joe, spilt petrol in the kitchen and forgot to clean it up, then you and Perri made pancakes and left him some mixture so Joe could have one, but when Joe cooked his, he forgot to turn the gas off and the petrol caught alight, causing a huge explosion. Perri woke up and looked for you, when he found you it was your hand he noticed but you were covered in rubble, he dug you up and you woke up, your ankle was trapped and you told him to go and find Joe, The last thing you said to him was 'I love you,' Then you kissed him and he went to go and find Joe, but he came running back when he heard you scream, when he got back he saw a huge pipe that was about to fall and crush you but you couldn't move because you're ankle was stuck, so guess what he did,'

'What?'

He stood directly underneath the pipe with his hands up so the pipe wouldn't fall on you,'

'Oh my God,' I whisper,

'You managed to get your ankle out but when you both dived out the way you hid your head on something sharp and you knocked yourself out, the paramedics told me that he didn't want to let go of you and he wouldn't stop crying, he said that he promised he would take care of you and he insisted on carrying you out of the house himself and he didn't want to leave go of you when he reached the ambulance van,' When she tells me this I feel a row of tears form in my waterline, I decide to just let them fall down my face,

'Could you get him for me mum? Please,' I smile,

'Of course,' She smiles back and gets up out of her chair, I watch through the window to see what he does,

'Perri, Kacey wants to see you,' I hear her say, He jumps up immediately and his face lights up,

'Really!?' He asks in shock, my Mum must has nodded because he heads towards the door,

'Hey,' He smiles, closing the door behind him,

'Hey,' I smile as he sits down

'You feeling okay?'

'Yeah I'm fine thanks, the nurse said I'll get my memory back, she just doesn't know when,' I smile knowing I was breaking overwhelming news to him,

'NO WAY!' He jumps up and goes to hug me, but then stops himself and blushes,

I laugh and put my arms out to give him a hug, he leans in and gives me a hug that feels so familiar.

'My Mum told me you risked your life for me,' I say and he sits back down,

'Yeah, I wasn't just going to stand there and watch you struggle, about to die, I mean-' Then he hesitates,

'Go on,' I smile,

'I love you,' He mutters, he looks down at his hands and his face breaks my heart,

'You don't understand how much you've helped me Kace, you've taught me so much about life and about myself.'

'Tell me about how we got together,' I give him an intrigued smile,

'Okay' He lightens up a little and gets comfortable, 'Okay so I told you we were talking, then I secretly slipped my number in your phone when I pretended to text my friend,' He chuckles, I burst out laughing and shake my head,

'Anyway I dropped you off and then later on I got a text from you saying 'I can't stop thinking about you' but then you said it was Malin. Anyway did your Mum tell you I'm in diversity?'

'Oh my God yeah I love you guys!'

'You always told me you've never heard of us,'

'Yeah I was only nine when you won, I've probably forgot by now. Oh my God that's crazy, to me you only won two months ago,'

'Yeah, that is crazy,' he laughs, shaking his head, 'Anyway, I came on the T.V and you were so shocked, then you messaged me asking why I never told you and I said I thought you would go off me,' Then he gets his phone out and finds the messages to show me,

'I came for you the next day, you danced at our studio, I took you to nandos and we both got a salad because we're vegan,'

'Wow,'

'I know, I took you to this place and told you about myself then you fell asleep and I picked you up and brought you back to your place, then your Mum answered the door and told me your room was upstairs so I put you to bed, then we went to the beach with Malin and Mitch, oh by the way they're together, so I asked you to be my girlfriend and you said yes, then you were talking to Malin and you were like 'I couldn't have waited any longer for Perri, I liked him too much and I wanted him to be mine before he got the chance to meet anyone else' And you turned around and I was stood behind you and I just thought, I can't believe I've been so lucky to meet this girl'

'So we're really close?'

'You're my best friend, people call us inseparable'

'Aw,' I smile and he smiles too,

'And you're best friends with the whole of diversity too,'

'NO WAY! They all actually like me!?' I buzz,

'Yeah,' He chuckles, 'Want me to get 'em?' He smiles,

'Oh my God yes please!' I clap my hands with excitement, going into total fangirl mode.

'Okay,' He laughs and steps out.

He comes back into the room with seven boys,

'Hi I'm-' Jordan begins,

'Yeah I know who you all are I saw you on BGT Ashley, Jordan, Sam, Mitchell, Ike, Terry and warren,' They all laugh and give me a brief hug,

'Oh my god asif you guys are my best friends like I'm legit a fan,'

'You said you've never heard of us before?'Michell asks

'Yeah I said that,' Perri chuckles,

'Yeah maybe I've forgotten, I know who you all are I just don't remember meeting any of you,'

'Don't worry about it,' Ashley smiles, 'you'll get your memory back soon enough,'

'Yeah, I will,'
