Chapter 59
Hey Sweetheart
"Where is your friend sweetheart? Isn't she taking toooooooooo long?"
Shrithik asked Sameera, bouncing in his chair waiting for Shivani.
"How will I know old man?"
He pouted and started drinking the coffee that Sameera ordered for herself. He has already finished his.
About five minutes later Shivani came and smiled at Sameera. This time Shrithik was confused. She was looking like she didn't see him.
"He is here too right?"
Shivani asked Sameera sitting down beside Shrithik and Sameera nodded hesitantly.
"You can see him too right?"
Shivani shook her head.
"Only when your skin is touching his. Otherwise only you can see him."
Shrithik was silent and Sameera took it as a hint that he wanted her to question Shivani.
"So.......what is with him. And why can I see him? Why can you see him? And how can someone curse somebody else?"
She asked and Shivani sighed. Then leaning forward she asked
"I'll tell you, but first tell me that what is your religion? I mean what religion do you both believe in?"
"Hinduism? But why? I don't see the need for for you to ask this stupid thing."
"It will be easy for me to explain and you to believe. So let me continue-"
She said and shifted her gaze from Sameera to where she assumed Shrithik was.
"-Shrithik you were cursed by a yakshini."
"What? Are you serious?"
He asked spitting the coffee out.
"Uh huh. Yes I am. So a long time ago, billions and billions of years ago there started a war. In heaven. Between the devas and the asuras. In the scriptures also, it has been mentioned many times that the asuras wanted to capture the heaven and the devas and asuras faught. That war was one of these. All the heaven was in a havoc. Some of the apsaras and Gandharvas, and yaksh-jans came down to earth and became the fallen ones. The fallen angels. One of these yakshjans cursed him because he was the reason the person died whom that yakshini had fallen in love with."
Both of them were looking and listening to Shivani intently. They both were actually very interested in mythology.
"And you? How can you him? Why can I see him?"
Sameera asked folding her hands in front of her chest and furrowing her brows.
"Because I too am one of those. I too am a citizen of heaven. To stay in this world we took some bodies and this is one of them. And for you........because you are his other half."
"Other half? What do you mean by other half?"
"Soulmate. Other half means soulmate."
Sameera was about to argue when Shivani held her hand up, stopping her.
"It is not a joke Sameera. In Hinduism, the supereme lord, bigger than the devas have their soulmates. Lord Shiva, has Lordess Parvati. She is his ardhangini means his other half. Lord Vishnu has Lordess Lakshmi. Both the supereme lords in Hinduism have their soulmates. Then why can't you?"
Sameera nodded. Thinking deeply.
"Okay. But why is he having powers? A-and is he-"
"No he is not going to stay like that forever. One day, he'll become free of the curse. And for your question before.........he's not ordinary Sameera."
Shivani's eyes softened and she took Sameera's hand in hers.
"He's not ordinary. When one of the strongest dev and asur clashed there was an.......explosion. They were so powerful that none of their powers could destroy each other but it merged. The power merged and came towards earth in form of an energy body. And one day Shrithik was stuck by it. Tha-"
"When I was six years old I was struck by lightning. And nothing happened to me. Was that lightning the same energy?"
Shrithik interrupted and Sameera looked at him in shock. He was struck by a lightening?
"Yes. It was the same thing. In millions of years, borns someone who could absorb all the powers. That energy had been taken in by many, but they couldn't bear it. And the person who could also it was you."
Shivani spoke and then suddenly turned towards Sameera.
Shrithik watched as Sameera's eyes suddenly got dull and she suddenly...... dropped on his shoulder.
"What did you do to her? I swear to god if something ha-"
Shrithik seethed holding Sameera gently and rubbing her palms.
"Relax. I had something important to tell you which cannot be said in front of Sameera. It is a sensitive topic."
Shivani spoke seriously and Shrithik calmed down.
"What is it?"
"You powers. They are because of Sameera. If she will not be there, then your powers too won't be there. But that is not the thing. Only she can free you from your curse. But danger is surrounding her."
She spoke and he stilled. Danger? What kind of danger? He cannot loose her. Curse free or not, he doesn't care! He loved her and he cannot loose her.
"Danger?"
He whispered asked. Fear was clear in his voice and his eyes.
"I can't tell you much but keep in mind that in near future something big is going to happen. Keep her safe for a month. Don't even let a scratch on her.
Just for one month. And then everything will be fine. Everything."
Shivani spoke, her eyes looking into a different world and Shrithik, looking at Sameera.
"Can you please make her awake?"
He asked in an almost broken voice and Shivani smiled.
"Don't worry. You both will be fine."
And suddenly something changed. Suddenly Sameera was up eating her ice cream and Shivani was nowhere to be seen.
"I'm glad to know that I am your soulmate. Now I'm sure that you really will not be able to cheat on me."
She said grinning and Shrithik smiled adoringly at her. He understood what Shivani has done. And -wait! What?
"You think I'll cheat on you? How can you?"
He asked and she grinned.
"I cannot trust you. What if you marry my TV. I really can't trust you."
She grinned and he snatched her ice cream away and ate all of it in one scoop.
"My ice cream! What did that poor thing do to deserve a cruel death like this! Oh Lord! Answer me!"
She dramatically yelled and kept her hand on her heart.
Whole cafe turned towards her and she smiled sheepishly.
"I'd like one more ice cream please."
She said slowly and turned towards Shrithik and pressed her lips together.
"I'm gonna eat two more ice creams and if I get cold then remember what I'll do of you."
She threatened and he nodded his head, chuckling.
While Sameera ranted about something excitedly, he was busy about what Shivani said.
Sameera was in danger. But what was that danger? From what did he has to protect her from? Will she get attacked like last time? He'll definitely kill anyone who dares to even harm a hair of hers. He'll chop of their heads. Grind their lungs and mash their hearts. He'll-
"Hey. What happened?"
Sameera asked. Her eyes showing nothing more than concern looking at Shrithik, who was grinding his teeth and having a murderous look on his face.
His eyes softened and to her surprise he suddenly leaned down and softly took her lips in hers. A small peck left Sameera surprised. Though it was a small kiss it still was intense.
"Are you okay, old man? A-"
She was once again by him capturing her lips. But this time it was not a peck it was a long deep kiss.
Her eyes closed involuntary. His hands went on her face as he cupped her face. Caressing her cheeks lightly and Sameera's hands held her wrist.
Slowly she was pushed down. Her back touched the bed and he crawled up on her. His hands supported his weight and he hovered over her.
Then suddenly her eyes snapped open and she pushed him away and sat up.
She was in her......room?
"Why do you always do that? It's so confusing."
She said and crawled up on his lap.
Straddling his lap she kept her head on her shoulder.
"What happened sweetheart?"
He asked five minutes later when he felt a tear drop from her eye.
"I don't want you to go anywhere, old man. Will you stay with me? Always?"
She asked and he nodded and kept his head on hers.
"I'll never leave you, sweetheart. But why suddenly all this?"
"I don't know. Recently I've been having these kinds of thoughts a lot."
He nodded and slowly patted her back.
"Oh yeah. We are going back tomorrow. I forgot to tell you."
She said and he nodded.
"That's great. And don't you ever think that I'll leave you. I'll always be there."
He said sternly and she nodded.
Her lips kissed his skin. He stilled, gulping. Her lips trailed there, slowly going up to his neck and Adam's apple.
She pushed him on the bed and bit his earlobe.
"Oh no sweetheart."
He somehow groaned and sighed simultaneously and she hit his chest laughing.
Then suddenly he pulled Sameera on him and squeezed her and she laughed.
"Old man! Are you going to kill me?"
She asked and he nodded.
"Of course I am."
"How"
"By drowning you in my love."
He said and she laughed.
"Cheesy."

ASURAS
Asuras (Sanskrit: ठसà¥à¤°) are a class of beings in Indian religions. They are described as power-seeking clans related to the more benevolent Devas (also known as Suras) in Hinduism. In its Buddhist context, the word is sometimes translated "titan", "demigod", or "antigod".Rakshas is also used to describe Asuras, which are power seeking deities that lack divinity. They are often depicted as antagonists in Dharmic religious scriptures
According to Hindu scriptures, the asuras are in constant battle with the devas.â Asuras are described in Indian texts as powerful superhuman demigods with good or bad qualities. In early Vedic literature, the good Asuras are called Adityas and are led by Varuna, while the malevolent ones are called Danavas and are led by Vritra. In the earliest layer of Vedic texts Agni, Indra and other gods are also called Asuras, in the sense of their being "lords" of their respective domains, knowledge and abilities. In later Vedic and post-Vedic texts, the benevolent gods are called Devas, while malevolent Asuras compete against these Devas and are considered "enemy of the gods"
Asuras are part of Indian mythology along with Devas, Yakshas (nature spirits), Rakshasas (fierce man-eating beings or ogres), Bhutas (ghosts) and many more. Asuras have been featured in many cosmological theories and legends in Buddhism and Hinduism.
