Chapter 44
Hey Sweetheart
Sameera was in deep thought. She was sitting with her legs crossed on the seat in Indian style, with her elbows on her knees and her face in her hands.
Jay said that he loved her. It was too much to handle. Love? Like, was he even serious. How can someone fall in love in just ten days? And in those ten days he has only seen her for not more than 50 hours. How can someone just fall in love at first sight. Sure someone can be attracted to someone, but Love is a big thing.
She was almost proud of herself that she handeled him pretty nicely. But she seriously wanted to be rude. If it was for not Jay being such a good guy, Sameera would have been so poisenus that he himself would have eaten poisen. And not to mention she slaps people pretty hard.
"What did you two talk about?"
Shivam asked from beside her. Starteled she looked at him and then shrugged.
"He said that he loved me. Love at first sight. I'm so confused. Should I have said yes to him? But I don't feel anything. He's a good guy. My mind knows that but it also knows that I don't have any kinds of feelings for him."
She said looking at him and he smirked.
"Confused?"
"No. What if he does something to himself? Was I wrong?"
"Don't lift your spirits too high up. He's not gonna do anything to himself. He's too much of a pussy to do something."
She grinned.
"You think that too?"
He rolled his eyes.
"Of course I do. That's why I'm saying it right."
She smiled and nodded. Looking out of the window she once again zoned out.
"What are you thinking now?"
Once again Shivam asked startling her.
"Nothing."
"Okay."
He said and once again started reading a magazine.
"He kissed me, goddamit. Even if it was a peck. He still kissed me. How can I just forget it and be calm about it?"
Shivam coughed his water out and with wide eyes, stared at her.
"He kissed you? When? How? I mean you didn't te-"
"Yeah I know. I didn't tell anyone, but I didn't sleep well till the day I was wasted. Maaya just heard our conversation and got to know it. I was so agitated at that time that I beat a 14 year old boy. And after that I didn't speak to Jay. I just didn't want to make an issue out of it. Madhu's wedding was just a week away and.......you know right?"
She asked getting irritated and he laughed.
"Yeah. I get that. But I would have preferred if you would have just beaten him."
She nodded.
"Me too. But..... what's happened is happened."
"Yeah. Hey, do you know there's a new season released to this so good anime."
"Really, which one."
And like that they both started talking about various animes.
Sameera asked Shrithik about how he will go back to Hyderabad but he just shrugged and said
'Don't worry sweetheart. I have some work to do here. I'll be back soon.'
So she was cool about it.

Sameera was happy now that she was back. No more Jay, no more of a good guy who doesn't deserve to be talked rudely. And no more somebody else's house.
She quickly made her way towards the stairs. She was feeling really excited to be back that's why she took the ridiculous decision to just climb up till the 13th floor.
As expected she took the lift after the seventh floor, out of breath.
When she was in front of her house door she was surprised to see the electricity and water bill, stuck in the door knob.
Taking it out she opened the door and went in.
Now that she remembers she hasn't paid the bills since two months. Yeah. She hasn't got any calls from the landlord, she hasn't seen any bills for electricity or water.
She kept all the bills on the table and picked up a broom to clean the house. Afterall it has not been cleaned for five days.
It took her an hour to properly broom and mop the whole house. After that she took a nice cold water bath. Pulling all the curtains she stopped the bright sunlight and switched on the fan.
It was big no for A/C in her house.
Throwing herself on the bed of her room she sighed. Then held the bills up she took from the table.
How come she has not payed a single bill in two months. And the bill she held now was also normal for a month's usage.
Slowly her eyes started to drop, looking at the bills and soon she slept.

She heard the sounds of knocking but ignored them. Then she heard the sound of door opening and closing and she ignored it to. But then something clicked, she's sleeping, Shrithik is not there, and nobody else lives with her. So who opened the door? And did she forget to bolt down the door?
Opening her eyes wide and getting off of the bed in one move she ran towards the door of her bedroom and slammed it open. But when she saw Shrithik walking on his tip toes with big wide eyes, and his tounge stuck out, she tsked.
"Tsk..When you come home, from next time you should shout loudly 'sweetheart, I'm home'. Understand?"
She asked with a very dangerous expression and he could do nothing else but nod.
Before he could say something else, she went inside her room and flopped on the bed. And soon she was again sleeping.
Shrithik bathed himself and then made his way to the kitchen. Opening the lid of evey utensil he got to know that Sameera hasn't cooked anything and has probably not eaten as well.
He looked at the clock to find that it was 4:00 pm and she has last eaten at 10:00 am.
He sighed. She must've been really tired. Cooking something he went to wake her up.
Upon entering her room, he saw that the room was dark as the curtains were on. But what almost took his breath was her lying in the centre of the bed in z shape. With the duvet that was supposed to cover her, beneath her. And her hair. They were wide open. Long black hair, spread widely.
That sight was oddly satisfying.
"Wo....."
He breath out. But then keeping his thoughts aside he woke her up.
"Sweetheart. Get up. Eat something."
She made a sour expression and opened her eyes. And then pushed him away. With an extremely angry face she yelled
"Let me sleep. I don't wanna eat. Go away."
In the end some tears escaped her eyes but her expression remained extremely angry.
"Sweetheart -"
"I said I want to sleep. Will you please, by the god's grace leave?"
She said calmly looking him directly in the eye.
He couldn't understand why was she suddenly angry? Did she fight with someone or was this the anger of something happened earlier. Or was it just a mood swing.
"Okay. Have a goodnight."
He said smiling brightly and left the room.
He was not exactly unicorns and rainbows by the idea of her being so rude. But everyone has mood swings or just a bad day.
With a slight frown he served for himself. He was just about to sit when he heard the bedroom door opening and turned around.
Sameera was standing there with a frown on her face as well. Shrithik smiled brightly looking at her, though it was fake and asked
"You want to eat something? Shou-"
"I'm sorry. I was just sleeping and then you came and I just got the idea of a theif and after that when I went back to sleep, there was a pen on my bed and my hair got stuck in it. So I was really irritated. And then Jay had kissed be before and according to me didn't do what I should have done so I was really frustrated you know. I didn't mean to take it on you. It just......"
She trailed off looking down. She was such a bad person. He was just worrying about her and she snapped on him. But before anymore guilt can consume her, he spoke with a slight smile.
"Well, I've heard that a hug can help you release your stress and frustration."
She looked up and couldn't help the upward tug of her lips. She used to do the same when her mother got angry. And without wasting a minute she jumped on him and hugged him.
It was a really surprising thing that they both have hugged just as much as she and Maaya and they have known each other for just four months.
"Now get off of me because I am hungry. If you want to eat you can too."
He said and she nodded, unwinding her arms from his neck. And for some reason she was blushing. There was this smile she was trying to stop but couldn't and her cheekbones were covered in a shade of pink.
Now, you tell me, how can somebody not like this guy? She talked to him so badly yet he didn't even think that it was her fault. His thoughts were that she must've fought with someone.
Such a gentleman.
"Why are you staring at me? Hey, you aren't eye raping me are you?"
Shrithik asked covering his chest with his hands.
She glared at him and he grinned innocently.
"I am not having such bad days that I stare at you."
"Liar liar pants on fire."
He mocked and grinned once again.
"Wish I could just shut you up. But I can't handle a frowning you. It's too depressing."
She mumbled to herself. It was really depressing to see such a happy and handsome guy frowning. And believe me Sameera finds nothing depressing.
Well, obviously except a frowning Shrithik.
"I know right. My whole face changes when I frown. My nose also stretches I guess."
He said like a child telling his grandfather that how iron man can fly.
She knew that he was talking gibberish just to lift her mood. She smiled at him and slowly all the sounds faded. It was only him. His lips were moving but she couldn't hear anything.
"Sweetheart?"
"Uh?"
She still couldn't hear him.
"Sweetheart? Are you okay?"
She felt him shaking her and suddenly she was back to the normal world. But her breath hitched.
He was just two inches away. Just two inches away.
But as soon as her breath hitched she released it also because he leaned back.
"Are you okay? Don't tell me that there is something in that curd."
He said narrowing his eyes at the bowl of curd and she shook her head furiously.
"Naah. Nothing's wrong. You can eat. I'm going. Thanks for the food."
She said and got up. Washing her plate she made her way to her room and sighed heavily.
"Oh lord. Help me."
"Of course peasant."
She shreiked when Shrithik yelled from behind her.
She turned around and hit him hard.
"You bastard. Don't you have anything else to do than to scare me. You evil child. Who'll believe you are 70 year old man in the body of a 24 year old. Who?!"
She scolded and he grinned.
"Oh lord. Please help me with this child."
