Chapter 1
Hey Sweetheart
He watched as that guy stood at the roof of the college building.
Everybody was shouting at him to get down but he refused. Shrithik thought he was just bluffing. So he turned and started walking away.
"The reason for my suicide is Shrithik. I am fed up of his bullying. I can't take it anymore." And after that there was a loud thud. Shrithik stopped dead in his tracks. He ran towards, now a dead boy. Everything was dead silent.
Then somebody screamed. And it all became chaos. Ambulance, police, college staff, students, everybody was there. In a human sea. Shrithik went numb for a moment. Somebody died because of him? Guilt was seeping through his veins.
Everybody saw him with hatred.
Everybody cursed him. But one was effective.
"You attention seeker! You bullied him for attention. Your carvness for this fame had grown so much that you didn't even think about the limits you are crossing.
Because of you, my friend, my love, my everything died. I curse you, you will starve this attention. You will never die. You'll just be invisible. You will see your close ones die in front of you. You will live a lonely life. I curse you to be invisible."

Sameera looked through the cupboards of her kitchen and sighed deeply when found only a cup of instant noodles. It has always been her nature to keep things till the last minute. Whether it's assignment or shopping. She'll not go shopping until there's nothing which can be used. Same goes for assignments. She'll start working on it two hours ago and still it will be best in her class.
"Looks like I have to eat this only." She poured some boiled hot water in that cup and closed the lid.
After she was done eating she decided it was finally time to go shopping. She picked up her phone and a carry bag. Plugged in her earphones and made her way out to a mall.
Healthy food is her first priority, so the raven haired girl first went in the vegetable section. It's the thing with Indian food. It's so delicious that a vegetable like brinjal tastes so delicious when made a curry.
She was inspecting a cabbage and walking when she bumped into someone.
"Tsk! Can't even walk properly." It was a deep manly voice.
Sameera was still so busy inspecting that cabbage that she mumbled a
"Sorry, my mistake."
She kept her hand on his trolly and strolled past him. Still not looking up.
And that guy was shocked to his core. Not only that girl said sorry to him, but kept her hand at his trolly and went past him without even looking at him?
When everything was kept in her trolley and Sameera was ready to pay she remembered biscuits. She shook her head at herself thinking how can she forget such important thing.
She was in the food isle, looking for some good biscuits when she saw him. He was handsome to say the least. A sharp striking jawline. Dark tousled hair. Tall body with muscles flexing at every move. Perfect example of tall, dark and handsome. But then she saw what he was doing.
He saw here and there, when assured nobody was watching, held out a bag and kept many items. By the way he looked around before keeping things was suspicious so she followed him. His bag was full of items. He simply kept all the things of one trolly at the side in his bag.
Sameera was surprised at how is he even managing to hold that bag which had food which could weight atleast 10 kg.
He just casually strolled out of the store and to her surprise nobody stopped him.
They didn't even looked like they saw him. He was walking on the road when she kicked him in the knee and pinned him to the ground.
"You have not payed mister. You cannot go like this."
He was surprised that she was talking to him and had him pinned to the ground. People cannot even see him and she has him pinned to the ground. Then he remembered the girl who bumped into him and strolled past him in the vegetable section. It was the same girl!
She was interrupted by a lady.
"Dear, your bag is lying scattered. And why are you sitting like this on the ground? Do you need some help?"
She has not noticed that the bag which had all stolen items has fell on the ground but she replied.
"This guy was practically stealing. He-"
"Which guy?" Old lady asked.
"This guy. The one I have pinned against the ground." She pointed to him.
"Dear, I think you are getting a headache. You should go home and rest, because there is no guy."
"This guy aunty wearing a mustard t-shirt who is literally below me." She spoke and widened her eyes.
That old lady shook her head.
"There's no guy here, young lady. You new generation kids think of us old people as fool? But you cannot fool me." Saying this that lady left muttering
"Stupid teenagers."
"I think you should get off me." Shrithik stated. Sameera, who was watching that old lady leave looked at him and quickly scrambled off.
"I'm sorry, I guess?" Sameera said and quickly made her way once again inside the mall. She still hasn't got groceries.
Shrithik watched her going with his mouth agape. After all this, that girl muttered sorry and left? Was she not scared that nobody was able to see him except her? He could be a ghost for god's sake.
But what he didn't know that her heart was thumping loudly.
Maybe hallucinations? Who knows. And the thing she was sure was, that guy was definitely not a ghost.
She believed in afterlife, souls and ghosts also. But a ghost cannot be seen. We cannot hear a ghost and a ghost can definitely not have a body which can be pinned to the ground. And with a face like that? NEVER!
She plugged her earphones and this time started her playlist. It helps to take mind off of things. After taking all the things needed she quickly disappeared to her house.
Shrithik searched whole mall for her. Gaming section, theatre, dressing section, everywhere but she was nowhere to be found. After many years, he's got some hope but it seems to be disappearing.
Maybe that girl was just his imagination. Nothing more.
Sameera was exhausted when she reached her house. Holding these many things, then literally running without running. Her mind wandered off to that boy because of whom she practically ran.
Was he real? Or just her imagination. How can that old lady not see him. But Sameera was sure he cannot be her imagination. Can you kick your imagination? No.
Sameera shook her head to get rid off the thoughts swirling in her mind.
Her phone buzzed indicating a call. She picked up without noticing who the caller was.
"Hello?"
"Sameera! Have you completed your assignment?" Maaya, her best friends voice blared through the speaker.
"Assignment? We had an assignment?" Sameera exclaimed.
"Oh yes, we had. I called you for it. I was busy, you know. I thought you would have completed it by now." Maaya spoke. Sameera raised her eyebrows.
"You thought I, Sameera Sharma, would have completed it? You kidding me? You know me for 10 years. Still?"
"Aye, don't doubt me. You always have been a topper. And who the hell will believe you when you get such good grades? And for your information, normally you would have it completed by now."
Sameera glanced at her watch. Maaya was right. It was eight in night. Normally, she would have it done by now. She smiled sheepishly though Maaya cannot see her.
"I'm sorry. I'll see what I can do."
"I swear to god Sam, if you'll not send me and I'll fail, I'll flood your house by my tears."
Sameera laughed and said
" I thought you'll say ' I'll kill you and your death will be the biggest murder mystery.'"
Maaya also laughed.
"No. You've used it many times on me."
"You know, you could have completed the assingnmennt before. Usually, I am the one who asks for photos."
"Yeah, I know. My grandfather died. I was busy."
Sameera's eyes widened.
"Oh yeah you told me. I remember. Bye. I've to workkkkkk."
"Bye. Don't forget to send me pictures of your notes also."
She disconnected the call and started working on her project.
She has never been good in reaction when somebody's dead. Once she even said wow.
She sent all needed data to Maaya. Everybody knew, Sameera will ask everyone before doing something and then she'll do what she wants to do. So if she's asking you for your project, you can give it to her without hesitation. Because her's is always gonna be different. And just like she sent all the important data but not her stuff, you will never know what she's gonna do.
She searched her stationary items, for colour pens, but there were none. It was still 9:00 PM, so she decided to buy them. She wore her sandals and went to the stationary shop nearby.
What she didn't knew was someone who was dying to see her will find her.
Shrithik was disappointed to say the least. After these many years, his only hope is nowhere to be found. In his years of invisible life he has managed to get a friend and that friend worked in a stationary shop.
He was getting bored when he saw her. Still in the same clothes from his encounter. A blue oversized tshirt and cargo pants. He watched as she narrowed her eyes then lifted two fingers, first pointed at her eyes then at a dog's doing
'I am watching you' gesture. A small smile tugged at his lips involuntary.
Her walnut skin was shining in the street light. She walked with her head held high.
Some will think its sophistication and some will think it's arrogance.
But it was her natural posture, which somehow Shrithik was aware of.
Sameera saw that boy looking at her. Same guy from the mall. Her heart once again started beating loudly. She decided to ignore him, as it was best. She averted her gaze and casually walked to store, like she has not even seen the guy who can be a ghost.
Shrithik's mouth once again dropped. This girl was ignoring him? In his college days girls cannot even forget his face after seeing it one time.
And this girl, is ignoring him when she clearly knows that only she can see him.
"Give me a small packet of colour pens." She asked to the shopkeeper.
He nodded and went to get them when she felt a presence behind her. Hairs on her neck stood when she felt him whispering
"Hey Sweetheart"
