Chapter Twenty Five: Graduation Party

Everyone had finally arrived and the party was under way. The DJ was playing a perfect mixture of music so there was something for everyone. People were dancing, eating, and just mingling with each other. It was definitely a perfect party.

Bianca was happy that everything had pulled together the way she wanted it to. The only thing that felt wrong to her was the way her mother kept avoiding the king. She even noticed that Damien purposely avoided her mother as well.

She knew something was definitely going on between the three of them but she just wasn't sure what it was. But she was determined to find out no matter what it took. She had just taken Hope in and put her to bed when she heard some people in the front talking about faking a suicide.

She quietly made her way towards Sarah's room where she could open a window and hear the conversation better. She tiptoed out of Hope's room and down a little ways to Sarah's room where she peeked through the curtains to see two of the royal guards smoking a cigarette.

She eavesdropped as they continued talking about the poor human they strangled then set it up to look like a suicide. She was beside herself not really sure what to do she felt tears start to roll down her cheeks when they started laughing about how he had pleaded for his life.

She knew something had to be done about this if the royal guard was responsible for Patrick's death then she knew they were behind the attack on her parents and would do anything the king ordered them too.

Feeling uneasy and freaked out she decided to have the twins come inside and keep an eye on Hope while she was outside entertaining the guests. They had no problem considering she was their favorite person in the whole world. She knew they would fight to the death to protect Hope.

She decided to wait to tell Brody about what she had overheard until after everyone including his father had gone home. She made sure to keep any emotion from showing to everyone other than happiness even though inside she was a wreck which she knew Brody could sense it because he found her in the crowd and pulled her to him.

She made sure to stay by his side the rest of the night ensuring that they were touching since it was the only thing keeping her together. She wasn't trying to show any signs of knowing or fear towards Brody's father but anytime he would approach them she felt sick.

“This was a great party son.” the king said patting Brody on the back. “Thanks but the mastermind behind it all was Bianca.” Brody smiled down at her. “Then I can honestly say I am looking forward to you guys moving into the castle next week because a few balls would be a breath of fresh air.” he smiled moving to hug Bianca which made her flinch away and press closer to Brody.

“Is everything alright my dear?” he asked staring at her. “Oh yes just had a burst of cold air go right through me.” she smiled reaching out to hug him. “Yea it is getting a little bit windy out here I think a storm might be blowing in.” the king smiled.

Bianca felt relieved that he bought it. She knew she had to be better at hiding her repulsion of the king. “Dad are you planning on heading back home tonight or did you want to stay here with us?” Brody asked causing Bianca to stiffen in his arms.

“I have some local business to take care of so I was planning on staying in my penthouse at the hotel.” he replied causing Bianca to let out a whoosh of air that she realized she had been holding.

Brody looked down at her curiously but smiled looking up at his father, “nonsense you will stay here with us we have an extra room for you and you'll be safer here than at some hotel.”

Bianca pulled away from Brody running into the house barely making it to the bathroom in time to hurl everything she had eaten throughout the day into the toilet. She sat back on her heels while the urge to throw up again took over her body.

After a few more minutes Brody was rushing into the bathroom to check on her. “Babe are you alright?” he asked kneeling beside her on the floor. “I don't know what has come over me I have thrown everything in my system up and still keep going.” she cried as her body shook from the sickness that overtook her.

“Maybe it was something you ate lets get you cleaned up and in bed for the night.” Brody said cradling her in his arms. “Where is your father?” she asked as he placed her into the bathtub. “He went to his penthouse said he didn't want to take a chance on catching whatever it is you have.” he smiled helping her wash her hair.

“That's probably for the best considering what I have to tell you.” she said perking up a bit thankful the king was gone. “Whatever it is it can wait until morning it has been an extremely long day.” he replied helping her out of the tub.

“No this can't wait I have to tell you now it is too important to just ignore trust me.” she replied as he carried her to their bed. “What on earth could be so important unless you are carrying my pup?” Brody grinned.

“I wish that were the case but no it's not that kind of news I'm afraid this stomach thing was just something not agreeing with me.” she frowned seeing how excited he was at the idea of her being pregnant.

“Oh that's okay just a thought so what is it?” he said laying her on the bed. “When I put Hope to bed tonight I overheard a couple of the royal guards talking outside about a suicide they faked.” she said waiting for his reaction.

“What are you sure you heard them right?” He asked sitting beside her. “Yes they were making fun of him pleading for his life they kept referring to him as the poor human and went on to talk about how they had strangled him with the rope they tied him from the window with to make it look like he had committed suicide.” she answered as tears began to make their way down her cheeks.

Brody sat there in complete silence processing exactly what she just told him. “So that means my father was behind the monsters death but how do we prove it the guards involved wouldn't dare turn their backs on him.” Brody replied as he played with her hair.

“They won't but I will.” Damien said standing in their doorway. “What do you mean you will, what do you know?” Brody questioned jumping up to greet him. “I didn't mean to eavesdrop on you guys but I feel so guilty and now that I have Sarah I know what its like to be in love and not care about anything else or what others think.” he smiled.

“Damien you have a matter of seconds to tell me exactly what you know about fathers involvement in everything that has been going on lately before I attack.” Brody snarled at him.

“Look in the beginning I don't know if it was jealousy or the fact that you were mated to someone everyone looked down upon because of her actions but I gladly teamed up with him to keep you two from getting married.” he said hanging his head down in shame.

Brody didn't think twice before he tackled Damien to the floor punching him repeatedly. “What is going on in here?” Sarah bellowed as she ran into the room. “I suggest you just come sit with me and let these two have it out and you will get your explanation along with us.” Bianca said patting the bed beside her.

“Explanation of what?” Sarah asked confused. “You will find out soon enough.” Bianca replied glaring at the two rolling around in the floor. After about an hour of them going at it Brody finally climbed off his brother and shoved him against the wall.

“I'm sorry I never meant for anyone to get hurt I just didn't want you to be looked down on because of who you were mated too.” Damien spit out as he regained his footing. “You are my brother you are supposed to have my back not plot against me and my family.” Brody growled.

“I know and for that I don't deserve to be called your brother but you must know that I never wanted to hurt anyone and I am willing to do whatever it takes to earn your trust back.” Damien frowned.

“I need to know what exactly father has done and what he has planned.” Brody glared at him. “I know that he has been working with her mother she was the one who pushed for the custody issue but I know she wanted out and that is why father paid rogues to attack her.” he answered.

“What about Patrick's murder?” Bianca yelled at him. “I don't know why father had him killed all I know is that father had your mother trying to track down Draven Keetes but he wouldn't tell anyone why.” Damien said as everyone in the room gasped.

“Why on earth would he want her to track down a hunter especially him?” Bianca asked. “I honestly have no idea and he hasn't been including me in any of his plans since the attack on your mother so I don't know what he is up to I just know that he is capable of anything and will stop at nothing to keep you two from getting married.” Damien replied looking towards Sarah to see the hurt in her eyes.

He didn't have to look at her to know what she was feeling because he could feel the hurt and betrayal she was feeling towards him at that moment. “We need to figure out what he is up to so we can be one step ahead of him at all times.” Brody said.

“I agree but how do we do that when he has already stopped including me into his plans?” Damien asked. “I'm not sure but we will find a way but for now we need to keep everything between us no one can know that we suspect anything.” Brody said moving away from his brother.

“I think I am going to head to my parents house for the night.” Sarah said as she walked past Damien out of the room. “Wait please don't go I know I screwed up and I am so sorry it is because of you that I even came clean I can't lose you.” he pleaded with her.

“I can't believe you were apart of something like this but what hurts the most is that you were trying to hurt my sister and niece.” Sarah cried walking into their room slamming the door behind her.

Damien knew he was going to have to prove himself not only to his mate but to his whole family he knew what he had to do and it wasn't going to be easy but betraying his father was the only way his mate would ever trust him again he just hoped he lived through everything that was ahead.

“Brody what are we going to do with him? We can't kick him out because it would kill Sarah but I don't want him anywhere near Hope.” Bianca cried as everything came to light. “I know babe but we have to act as is everything is normal otherwise father will know that something is going on.” Brody replied pulling her into his arms.

“I just hope that Damien can convince your father to let him in on his plans otherwise we will be in the dark and won't know what is coming until it's too late I'm afraid.” she cried even harder. “I won't let anything happen to you or our baby girl you two are my whole world and without either of you I'd be lost.” Brody leaned down and kissed her.
