Chapter Thirteen: Family

They returned home after dropping Sara off and picking Hope up. Brody carried Hope to her room and tucked her into her covers while Bianca sat on the couch in the living room going through all of her new school books.

She found one that caught her eye more than the others. She started reading it while waiting on Brody to come back so they could fill out some questionnaires each teacher gave them.

She had started reading the book and found she couldn’t put it down it had drawn her in. She hadn’t ever read anything that specifically dealt with the mating of a royal to an alpha. She realized that even though they were mated it wasn’t fully mated like she had thought it wouldn’t be complete until she became pregnant.

As she read on she found out that until she becomes pregnant certain things may not happen one of which being able to communicate telepathically in their human form. That’s when she realized they hadn’t even tried to do that yet.

She also found out that by royal protocol an heir must marry his mate within a year of completing the initial mating process or he will be forced to marry someone his father chooses. She couldn’t believe Brody hadn’t ever said anything about that to her.

She was becoming upset so she put the book down and went in search of Brody. She looked in her room and the bathroom but he wasn’t there so she stopped and let her wolf sense where he was when she heard a faint giggling coming from Hope’s room.

She quietly walked down the hall and looked into her room to find Brody reading a story to Hope. He wasn’t just reading it he was actually acting parts of it out causing Hope to giggle. Bianca’s heart swelled at the sight of him interacting so well with Hope.

She couldn’t believe how great he was with her she knew he promised he would treat her as his own but saying it and actually doing it were two very different things. Now she just hoped his family would be as accepting of her as he was.

She decided to take a shower and get ready for bed while he bonded with Hope. She couldn’t help but start wondering if and when she had his child if he would treat it better than he did Hope. Her worries started taking over as they usually did causing Brody to bust thru the door.

“What’s wrong, why are you so scared?” he asked opening the shower curtain. “I’m not scared I was just lost in my thoughts and my worries consumed me like usual.” She said noticing his eyes changing to their deep royal blue.

Brody didn’t think about what would happen when he opened the shower curtain seeing his mate naked and dripping wet. His wolf instantly took over, without warning he jumped in the shower fully clothed mashing his lips to Bianca’s.

Not being able to hold back any longer her wolf took control. They enjoyed each other’s closeness until they were fully satisfied. Their wolves finally feeling satisfied gave back control to Brody and Bianca.

“Brody why didn’t you tell me that we won’t be considered completely mated until I am pregnant?” Bianca asked as she snuggled up to his chest. “I didn’t want you to think it was expected of you to become pregnant right away, plus I figure nature will decide when we have a baby.” He replied moving her hair out of her eyes.

“What about the whole we have to be married within a year or your father gets to pick who you marry?” she asked feeling a little sick even thinking about him marrying someone other than her.

“Don’t worry I have every intention on marrying you before that day arrives trust me I just wanted to give us some time before brining marriage up seeing as we just mated and I figured we could enjoy that for a little while.” He smiled lightly kissing her forehead.

“Sorry I just read about all of this in a book from school and it started to freak me out.” She sighed. “You have nothing to worry about trust me everything that needs to happen will because I have no intentions on letting you or our beautiful daughter in there go.” He grinned hugging her tighter to him.

“Speaking of Hope, I know that this is me being a worrier but when we do have a baby do you promise to not treat her any different than you will our child?” Bianca asked biting her bottom lip.

“You are worrying way too much about these things, of course I’m not going to treat her any different than I will the new baby in fact no matter how many children we have I will make sure they are all treated the same no matter what it takes.” He reassured her.

“Good and while we’re on the subject, just how many kids do you want?” She questioned him. “I honestly don’t know I haven’t really thought about that, I guess however many nature intends us to have.” He answered.

“You are going to be a great king.” She replied moving to kiss him before pulling away realizing what that would cause. “What makes you say that?” he laughed as he realized what she was doing.

“Because you always seem to have the perfect answer to every question.” She smiled as she snuggled into his neck. “I hope everyone else agrees with you.” He chuckled leaning his head on hers as they drifted off to sleep.

They awoke to Hope jumping on them. Bianca laughed hysterically as Brody and Hope teamed up and began tickling her. “How is this fair, two on one?” Bianca yelled between laughs. “It isn’t but its fun.” Brody laughed.

“Yea mommy this is fun.” Hope giggled. “I think it’d be more fun if we ganged up on Brody.” Bianca said starting to tickle him. She noticed that Hope looked at her funny instead of helping her.

“What’s wrong sweetheart why aren’t you helping mommy?” Bianca asked as she stopped trying to tickle Brody. Hope just sat there looking lost in thought for a few minutes before answering, “Isn’t he daddy, mommy?” she asked with her sad puppy dog eyes.

“Yes I am your daddy.” Brody said joining the conversation. “Then why did mommy call you Brody?” she asked perking up a bit. “Is that why you got upset because I referred to him as Brody instead of daddy?” Bianca asked.

“Uh huh.” Hope shook her head. “I’m sorry honey I won’t do it again this is just so new to us that I didn’t know how you felt about him but now I do so from now on I will refer to him as daddy.” Bianca grinned pulling Hope into her arms.

“Thank you mommy, that makes me very happy.” Hope yelled throwing her arms around her neck. “Good now let’s get daddy.” Bianca yelled as her and Hope jumped on him. They laughed and carried on a good hour or so before getting up and making breakfast.

Hope played with Brody while Bianca made chocolate chip pancakes which were her favorite. Bianca was enjoying their family time so much that she didn’t want to go to school today but skipping wasn’t an option so she knew the fun would have to end at least until tomorrow morning.
