Chapter 59

Sunday morning everyone was up early, Miriban was in the kitchen making breakfast, when Sanem and Can walked in.

MIRIBAN: "good morning you two, Sanem, did you sleep well?"

SANEM: "I did, I had a good pillow to lay on"

She looks at Can and kissed his cheek. "Sorry if you were uncomfortable all night Can."

CAN: "don't apologize sweetheart, I sleep better that way." He winks at her and blows her a kiss. Sanem turns red and looks at Miriban, smiling, " Sanem, don't be shy, the Divit men are very affectionate and open with the way they feel, trust me they're not shy

At all!" They both laugh, and Sanem helps her take the food into the dining room.

Everyone was sitting around having breakfast when Sanem's phone rings, she looks at it and it's Fabri, she shows it to everyone, Can is pissed , what the hell does he want, what is his problem. Sanem put her finger on her mouth to shush Can.

SANEM: " yes senior Fabri, what can I do for you?

FABRI: "I was worried about you, I just wanted to make sure you are okay."

SANEM: "no need to worry, I'm fine, I hope you're not disappointed."

FABRI: "Sanem dear, what are you saying, I would never want any harm to come to you, I care about you."

In the meantime Metin showed up, he whispered to Sanem "don't mention anything about the scent or the campaign, let me take care of it." She nodded okay.

SANEM: "whatever senior Fabri, I'm tired and in pain, thanks for the phone call." And they hung up.

CAN: "do you believe that guy."

METIN: "Can, listen, you need to calm down.  In his warped mind he probably does care about Sanem, you know that he has this obsession with her and her scent, this is where he might screw up, so we can get him."

CAN: "we are not using Sanem as a pawn to catch Fabri,"

METIN: " of course not, but because he feels this way about her, he might slip up"

SANEM: "Can, it's going to be okay, I'm not meeting him or anything like that. I don't even want to talk to him "  Can took her hand and kissed it.

METIN: " Sanem, when did you notice your scent was missing?"

SANEM: "probably about a week, but it could be gone like two weeks that I even took it out of my purse, I have another one here at home and I use that in the morning"

METIN: "okay, we will go back about three weeks just to play it safe"

SANEM: "okay, will it take long.?"

METIN: "hopefully not, but we have pretty many hours to go through, but we will do our best to finish quickly."

The rest of the day was pretty quiet, everyone was just sitting around talking and taking in the beautiful weather.

The door bell rings and it's Sanem's publisher Kaan, Sanem noticed that he looked tired and anxious, but worried about Sanem.

KAAN: "Sanem are you ok?"

SANEM: "I'm okay, (she is looking at him closely) how are you ? What's wrong Kaan, what's going on" Can and the rest of the family were watching him carefully.

Kaan took a deep breath and looked at Sanem.

KAAN: "Sanem, Ela is in the hospital , she was beat up pretty bad left for dead." Sanem and Can just looked at him in shock.

SANEM: "what happened, who bet her up."

KAAN: "well I tell you how it started, but she wants to tell you the rest, she wants you to come to the hospital with Can if you can." Sanem looked at Can worried nodded her head and agreed.

"I just found out all this yesterday morning, she was a mess Friday after everything that happened to you, but even before Fabri's launch she looked scared, she was always looking over her shoulder. I would ask her what's wrong and she wouldn't say anything, she would say everything is fine, but I knew better, you can see fear in her eyes. Anyway, yesterday morning she told me that her uncle is on life support in the hospital, it's seems he was beat up also, even worse than she was , he's been on life support for a couple of weeks. With very little improvement. Honestly I hope he makes it, because Ela is very close to him, he's like a father to her"

SANEM: "that's awful, who would do something like that?"

KAAN: "her uncle had borrowed money from a loan shark, and couldn't pay it back, so they bet him up inside the bakery and that's when Ela found him. She was devastated, this is the only family she has."

CAN: "that's awful, who is this shark, does Ela know who he is? maybe we can do something to help put him away."                                                                                         KAAN: "I don't know if she knows him, I only know he is from her neighborhood." "Sanem, Can, the rest Ela wants to tell you, are you up for going to the hospital.?"

Sanem looked at Can and smiled yes we will come.

SANEM: "Kaan will she be okay?"

KAAN: " yes, thank god, she is pretty bet up but she will be okay"

SANEM: "where did this happen?"

KAAN: "yesterday morning she went to her uncle's apartment which is on top of the bakery, she wanted to get some family pictures to put next to his bed at the hospital, then she went to the bakery to make sure everything was okay and that's were it happened, when I saw that she was taking forever to come back and wasn't answering her phone I went to the her neighborhood to see if she was okay."   Kaan had tears in his eyes, it seems that he really does care for her. Sanem grabbed his hand and held it for a couple of minutes. "Sanem, Can all I ask is that you listen to everything Ela has to say before you judge her, please."

Sanem and Can agreed.

SANEM: "okay Kaan, I have a feeling that we are going to be hit with a storm, when we talk to Ela"

KAAN: "a hurricane Sanem, all I have to say is I know Ela and I know you didn't get along, but sometimes things are not always what they seem to be."

SANEM: "Actually, we were starting to get along, I think she realized how wrong she was after she met you, you're good for her Kaan."

KAAN: thank you Sanem, but I'm very worried about her, I want to get a police officer to stand outside her hospital room, I'm worried these people might want to finish her off." He had tears in his eyes. I haven't left her side since this happened, I left just for now so I can come and talk to you." Can was already on the phone talking to Metin.

SANEM: "Can is calling Metin, our lawyer, don't worry there will be a police officer outside her door by the time we get there. And Kaan, Metin will probably be at the hospital with us, he needs to hear what she has to say to help, okay?"

KAAN: "Yes, I agree. I will head out and meet you both there. Thank you for listening" he shook Cans hand and hugged Sanem."

SANEM: "well my love, why do I have this feeling that Fabri and Achia are involved in this."

CAN: "Bebek, I believe you're right, whatever it is I hope we can put an end to it soon."

He hugged and kissed her and they headed to the hospital.

On the way there Metin called Can and told him he will meet them there and that he also posted a police officer in front of Ela's and her uncle's room. He told them, that if these people knew that her uncle was still alive and could talk they would probably go after him again so by the time we go to the hospital, both police officers will be in place.

SANEM: "Can, can you get into Ela's file from HR from your phone, since you're the hunky boss and can do whatever he wants "she starts giggling

CAN: "I will do it just for you, because you are my hot sexy employee."

SANEM: "okay, pull over into that parking lot for a couple of minute, I want to see what neighborhood she lives in."

CAN: "okay, what are you thinking,"

SANEM: " check first and I will tell you."

Can got into her file and told Sanem where she lives.

"Okay Can I want you to drive to her neighborhood and I want to show you where she lives. It's not too far out of our way from the hospital."

CAN: "whatever you want princess, what are you thinking, in that beautiful head of yours."

SANEM; " I just want to see her environment, where she was living, I think it will allow us to understand her better." Can looks at her and smiles, and takes her hands and kisses them both.

CAN: "Sanem Aydin, I love the way you try to understand people before you judge them, well only when it came to Ceyda and Achia you did figure them out right away." And I have to say I learned a lot from you, because of you I'm a better man, actually I think I've become more patient with you."

Sanem looks at Can and starts laughing, Can just looks at her and smiles. "What, you don't think I've become more patient?" She looks at him smiles and scratches his beard.

SANEM: "of course you have, you are definitely a changed man. And as for Ceyda and Achia they didn't need any understanding, they are ruthless women and they're lucky I didn't punch them in the face and tear out their hair!! the way they acted with you!" She was getting angry just thinking about them, and Can is smiling.

CAN: "I'm so happy that you are the most calm out of the two of us." They both start laughing. " okay Divit let's just go to her neighborhood and see were she lives and then go to the hospital because I have a feeling it's not going to be good."

They drove to the neighborhood, and Sanem knew right away, that whatever Ela did she did because she had to.

CAN: "Sanem, look how poor this neighborhood is, this is very sad."

SANEM: "I agree, but look at those guys over there, they're bully's, I'm sure they make people do things in neighborhood that they don't want to do. Can, my neighborhood is poor maybe a little under middle class, but this is bad."

CAN: "and I'm sure theirs a lot more of those guys in this neighborhood. These poor people,"

SANEM: "And you know what is even more sad, that people look down on people who come from neighborhoods like this, like they did me, because of were we came from, I know that Polen, Ceyda and Achia thought I was beneath them because of were I came from. And I know they thought that I was beneath you, not good enough for you.  No matter how well I do or how much I make I will always be the girl from the village." She turns and looks at Can " and you know what Can, I don't care what they think, I'm a good person, I try to be good to others, and I think I've accomplished alot, and plus I got an added bonus I got you.!"

He grabbed her and kissed her passionately, looks at her and says.

CAN: " Sanem you have no idea how proud I am of you, I love everything about you, where you came from your traditional upbringing, your family., everything."

And for those women that thought less of you, I think they're insecure and felt threatened, because you're beautiful, smart, and an accomplished woman, they probably had everything handed to them, and you did it without anyone's help, and that my love makes you better than them and they know it, so don't ever doubt yourself . You are unique in every way, and that's why I fell in love with you. If you know me well enough money and status never interested me."

She looks him and smiles, " you know Can, I'm the luckiest woman in the world, because I have you by my side. Together we're better."

He parks the car in the hospital parking lot, turns to her grabs her and starts kissing her passionately. Stops and looks her in the eyes and says. "Sanem Aydin, we were definitely meant for each other, us being together is no coincidence, we were destined to be one. I love you!!" And I love you, my love."
