Chapter 41

The next morning Sanem went back to her room to take a shower and get ready to leave to go back to Instanbul. This thing with these letters have to be cleared up soon, or I'm going to go crazy.

She brought herself a burner phone to call Metin.

SANEM: hi Metin its Sanem."

METIN: "my god Sanem where are you, everybody is looking for you there worried about you, Can is going crazy Looking for you!" when she heard Can's name tears started rolling down her cheeks, he's actually looking for me he didn't stay with trashy Achia. " Sanem are you okay , where are you we will come to get you."

SANEM: Metin, listen I'm fine, don't worry, tell everyone I'm okay. I just called to see if you found out anything about the letters.?"

Metin didn't want to tell her what he knew, he was scared it might keep her away."

METIN: "nothing yet, but don't worry, I will get to the bottom of this. But now you need to come home Sanem, everyone is worried sick, Can looks awful I don't think he's eaten or slept for days. Please Sanem come home." Sanem wasn't ready to tell him that she was coming back to Istanbul, she wanted this mess cleared up first. But she's happy that Can is looking for her and that he loves her.

SANEM: "Metin, I will soon, please just tell everyone that I'm okay. And tell Can I'm fine not to worry, I will call you back in a couple of days to see if you found out anything. Thank you Metin for everything."

And she hangs up .

Metin was happy to hear her voice, she does sound tired and upset. But at least she's ok." Metin calls Can.

METIN: " Can, Sanem called me a couple of minutes ago."

CAN: "Metin, did she say where she is ? I'm going crazy."

METIN : "no brother I'm sorry, she didn't even call me from her number she used a burner phone, but she wanted me to tell you that she's okay, and that she will be home soon" Can was hoping she would be coming home. Ah Sanem ah. What am I going to do with you.

"Can she does sound tired and upset, but at least we know that she's okay. Listen Can, maybe it's better that she stays away until we catch Ahmet, we have enough on him, to arrest him. Now it's only a matter of locating him. Don't worry brother this will be over soon."

CAN: "I hope so Metin, I'm worried about her."

METIN: "I know Can, don't worry,  I let you know if I hear anything else."  They hung up, Can just sat in the chair with his head in is hands with tears coming down cheeks.

LEYLA: " Can, are you okay, did something happen?"

CAN; " Sanem contacted Metin, she says she's okay, and that she will be home soon. He said that she sounds tired and upset. I'm just very worried about her Leyla, we have to find her."

LEYLA: " Can, I know my sister, she tougher than you think. Right now she feels that she is keeping all of us safe, if she says she will be home soon she will, I think she means it. The important thing is that when she gets back she needs to starts taking care of herself again."

CAN: "Leyla, I'm sorry I hurt Sanem, I didn't mean too, I didn't realize what I was doing . I can't explain what was happening to me. It was crazy.

But trust me, I have no interest in Achia or any other women. Sanem is my soul mate."

LEYLA: "actually I kind of understand what you were going through, plus you were always a risk taker. and as for Sanem, I think she knows the truth, Can Sanem loves you more than herself, she would do anything for you."

CAN: " me too Leyla, I would do anything for her to. If you think about it, who would have ever thought that your sister that little spitfire can tame me. I was always wild my father and mother never thought that I would get married."

Leyla's eyes lit up, did he just say married.

LEYLA : Can, did you just say married, you want to marry Sanem?"

CAN; ",Yes, you didn't think we would be dating forever did you." Leyla was so happy for them. She hugged Can and said " Can I'm so excited, I'm so happy, you have no idea."

Can pulled out the ring and showed it to Leyla.

LEYLA: Can, it's beautiful, she's going to love it."

CAN: " do you know, I asked uncle Nihat for her hand before the accident.  And then everything happened, and things just got delayed. I got her the ring in Italy.

But I want to surprise her Leyla, and then I want to do everything traditionally with your aunt and uncle, because it's important to them and Sanem. I know she's very traditional and I love it, I'm hoping we can raise our family like that one day."

Emre heard Can talking to Leyla and he had a huge smile on his face, he was very happy for his brother and Sanem. He hugs him and slaps him on his back.

EMRE: "brother, I'm so happy for you both, I can't believe that Sanem Aydin tamed a mountain lion."

They laughed and Can says "I can't believe it either, not once did I ever think that I would love someone so much and want to have a family with them and to live a traditional life. I guess it's a miracle." And he laughs

LEYLA: "well I know Sanem's answer already, so let's get out there and start trying to find her. And I know Can, this is our little secret.!"

They got ready and they went to start looking again but came up empty. Can tried her phone again but she had it off. "Sanem Aydin, when I find you I'm taking you away, just the two of us. I'm going to hold you and never let go."

Sanem had gotten back into the city, she was walking around, With a hoodie on so no one would see her.  She was happy to be back. Now to figure out where am I going to stay. It was getting late, and she was getting tired. she decided to walk to the orphanage. I'll try to Stay there at least for tonight, and tomorrow I will figure out where I'm going to go.  On the way there she passed the club she worked at. She stops and looks at it, " I'm so glad I got out of there when I did, and Ahmet got what he deserved, I hope he never opens up anything again!"  For some reason she suddenly got a cold chill going down her spine, she tries to shake it off,  but she was feeling  scared. What was that! Forget it Sanem , just get out of here.  She started walking fast to the orphanage. When she got there most of the kids were asleep, expect for the older kids, the teens, she went into the lounge to visit with them.

SANEM: Aslan, Baris, what are you guys doing up?"

ASLAN: "we had a test to study for and we decided to play a game of chess before we go to bed, plus were allowed to stay up later since we're older now "

SANEM: " that's good, do you think you studied enough, do you think you will do well."

BARIS: " I think so, it was in our history class, we studied as much as we could we really don't like history so it wasn't easy to study for."

SANEM: " if you want I can help you, and show you any easier way to memorize things, totally up to you, no pressure."

The boys decided to let Sanem help them.

ATLAN: "Sanem, when is Can coming to visit, we want to play basketball ball with him. I've been practicing a lot and I think I can probably beat him, even though he lets us win most of the time. Atlan and Baris start laughing.

BARIS: " yeh last time we played, he pretended that he couldn't get the ball in the basket, he pretended that he was disappointed." Sanem starts giggling that sounds like something her Can would do. " Sanem, Can is a terrible actor, he thought that we believed him, but we knew he did it for us."

ATLAN: " We love when he comes around, he's always joking around with us, and he loves to tease us. And he's the one who taught us how to play."

SANEM: " yes, he loves basketball, actually he loves all sports in general. But you're pretty good from what I saw, he's a good teacher."

BARIS: " yes, we've been practicing for years with him."

Sanem was surprised, years? I thought he just started coming around with me.

SANEM: "years, really? How many do you think.?"

The boys looked at each other and said at the same time  "probably about four, we were around nine years old when he came, he would come and hang out with us whenever he was in town and wasn't busy, he always made time for us, he would even help us with our homework, and bring the best snacks for the whole orphanage". Sanem felt so proud of Can, he never said anything, he's so humble."the boys start laughing.

ASLAN: "the snacks weren't the healthiest and the supervisor would get annoyed with him because she wanted us to eat healthy. It was funny because she would start lecturing him and he would just stand there like a child who got caught doing something wrong" they were laughing.

BARIS: yeh, and when she wasn't looking he would turn around and smile and wink at us, and then turn back to her with a straight face." The boys were laughing along with Sanem.

ASLAN: " do you know, he would always bring dark chocolate with him, because that's his favorite, he thought we all liked it because he did, but then he figured it out that we liked milk chocolate. He's the best Sanem we love having him around!"

BARIS: " He even bought us our basketball ball jerseys, with our names on them, we hope he comes and visits soon, when we heard about the accident, we were so worried about him. But we're happy that he's doing much better"Sanem was just smiling ear to ear she loves hearing the boys talk about Can.

ASLAN: " Sanem, you know what we call Can when he's not around, between us boys?"

SANEM: "No what do you call him, the big bear!"

And they start laughing. "Because you know he is like a bear, when he gets angry he growls" Sanem was trying to growl to make fun of him. The boys love Sanem she always makes them laugh. " so what do you call the bear "

BARIS: " big brother! He's are big brother Sanem, he treats us like family not like orphans, and you have no idea how that feels, it feels like we belong to someone, family, he always tries to spend the day with us when he comes. He always listens to us whether we're happy or upset. He's our big brother."

Sanem had tears in her eyes, she hugs the boys and squeezes them tightly.  god I love that man. I have to get home soon. I'll talk to Metin again in the morning.

Sanem was helping the boys study when Define the supervisor walks in and sees her.

DEFINE : Sanem? Oh Sanem , where have you been, everyone has been looking for you, are you okay?" Defin noticed how tired she looked and thin.

SANEM: I'm fine, but do me a favor, don't tell anyone I'm here please, I will talk to everyone soon. Please Define."

DEFINE: okay, but Sanem they're all worried, poor Can is a mess."

SANEM: I know, but there's things that have to be cleared up, someone is trying to hurt the people I love. My lawyer is trying to find out who it is . And I think they will be safer without me for a while ." Define promised Can she would call him. I have to, Sanem just doesn't look good. The boys were listening to the conversation and they're very worried about Sanem.

DEFINE: okay, let me go lock the doors, it's getting late. You can take Bella's room, it's still empty."

Sanem hugged her and went back to the boys.

BARIS: " Sanem don't worry we will protect you"

Sanem smiled and hugged both of them.

SANEM : you know you probably could you two are taller than me." Okay boys let's study little more and then we can go to bed.

Can was out looking for Sanem all day, he had already gone to the home and the orphanage. But something kept pushing him to go back  he knew it was late, but it doesn't hurt to try, Sanem has always been unpredictable, hopefully this is one of those times.
