Chapter 28

Can and Sanem decided to go to the neighborhood before going to work. They wanted check on Mevcabi and  Nihat. And to see how construction is going on the Bacal.

SANEM: good morning auntie, is uncle Nihat at the Bacal, is construction almost done?"

MEVCABI: yes child, they should be done soon, I hope! , he's driving me crazy, he needs to get back to work." Sanem was laughing.

SANEM: " it can't be that bad. He's so layed back and quiet."

MEVCABI: go check the backyard, he dug it up to put a garden in, like we have room for a garden."

SANEM: "I'm sure he will finish up soon, he just needs something to keep him busy." Mevcabi just rolled her eyes.

MEVCABI: " so child, how are you and Can."

SANEM: " very good auntie he's so good to me"

MEVCABI: " what about that business with the girlfriend?" Sanem just looked at her aunt. " yes Sanem I saw and heard the gossip."

SANEM: " she set him up auntie, he broke up with her before we even got together, but they really never were together." And she explained everything to her aunt.

MEVCABI: " honestly I didn't believe it either, He doesn't strike me as that type of man. He's true to the one he loves, You can see it. You're very lucky Sanem They're a good family." "Your Can reminds me of my Nihat, we love each other very much, even though he irritates me, I can't be without him."Sanem laughed, and hugged her aunt, she always could see the love between her aunt and uncle.

CAN: "uncle Nihat, everything looks great. They probably should be done in a couple of weeks."

NIHAT: " yes, I can't wait to get back to work, honestly Can, between me and you I love my wife, but she's driving me crazy. She won't leave me alone, she's always complaining about something."

Can laughed, " I'm sure she loves you too.

"Uncle I would like to ask you something."

NIHAT: " son, you have my permission, whenever you're ready you can come with your family and ask for her Hand"

CAN: " how did you know I was going to ask you for her hand In marriage?

NIHAT: " because,  I can see how much you love her and she loves you. You remind me of my wife and I, when we fell in love, even though we get on each other's nerves , we still love each other deeply and we can't be without each other."

Can hugged Nihat. " thank you uncle, yes she means the world to me, I can't be without her, she's my other half. It will probably be after my father gets back from vacation, they're going away for a month. We will make arrangements when they get back."

NIHAT: sounds good to me, ok son let's go have some breakfast, before I get yelled at again" and he starts laughing.

Sanem and Can have breakfast at aunt and uncle's then headed to the office.

CeCe: welcome Sanem, you start your internship today, I think you're going to like working here."

She looks at Can, and says with a smile " I think so too" CeCe just smiled,  he likes Sanem, and Can is his best friend, he's happy that they're together.

DERIN: Sanem are you ready to get started, we have a meeting, for compass with the creative team."

SANEM: yes, I am!!" DERIN; ok meet us in the conference room in 10 minutes."

Sanem went to see Leyla in her office.

SANEM: " hello Leyla, how do you like working here so far, besides Emre."They both start laughing.

LEYLA: " he's definitely my favorite part of my job." but Aylin, she keeps looking at me, I don't think she knows how to smile."

SANEM: " I agree, she gave me a nasty look when I came in with Can, I guess her and Polen are best friends. I guess she thinks we're to blame for their breakups"

LEYLA: it's seems that way, what did Emre and Can see in them anyway, I mean I know they're very beautiful, but their personalities really suck!"

They both laughed,

SANEM: "I don't think they were looking at their personalities Leyla,. Leyla and Sanem started laughing, " Leyla, they are very rigid, and so cold, I bet you Can and Emre did all the work and they just layed there." The girls couldn't stop laughing, Emre and Can heard them laughing. And then Can heard Sanem snort from laughing so hard.

CAN: "did Sanem just snort, what are those two talking about"

EMRE: " whatever it is, they can't stop laughing, I see Miriban went in there to find out what's going on. Now she's laughing too."

MIRIBAN: " Sanem, I can't believe what you just thought of, but I believe that you're right, you know I never liked either of them, they're not warm or caring women, I think the most important thing to them is status the Divit name. But the good thing is that the boys are with you both, Aziz and I are very happy."

Aylin was watching the girls from her office. Wondering what they're talking about. She gets a phone call from Polen.

AYLIN: "hello Polen,". POLEN; are you in the office, is Can there?"

AYLIN: yes, he's here , he's in with brother. You know his new girl is working here too. And Emre's, he thinks I'm stupid, that I don't know that they're dating. They're sisters by the way!"

POLEN: "really, I have to come to Istanbul, he won't even answer his phone calls. What do you know about this girl, what's their names"

AYLIN: "Sanem and Leyla Aydin.  not much, no one knows anything. Guliz the local gossiper knows nothing. I know Emre's went to college with us, she's a CPA. They were friends in college, I remember her, she was after him then too."

POLEN: well I want Can, back! She can't have him."

AYLIN: I want Emre to, but it's not going to be easy. Anyway I have a meeting , see you soon I guess?"

POLEN: for sure!"

AZIZ: "okay my creative team, compass wants to use us again, they have new camping equipment to advertise.!

And beginning next week Miriban and I will be on vacation for a month, so that means Can is in charge of the creative part and Emre the finance." Okay everyone, let's see what we can up with, they're

giving us two weeks."

Everyone was excused, and went back to their desks, on the campaign trail.

CAN: "Sanem, come to my office please."

SANEM: yes, Can Bey." And she starts giggling " what can I do for you"

CAN: " there's alot you can do for me, but there's too many windows here."

SANEM: " you're creative, you probably could think of something." He pools her into his arms and kisses her.

" you're my boss, I don't think it's right"

CAN: " since I'm your boss you have to do what I say."

She puts her arms around his neck, and kisses him.

" sit here with me, and we will try to come up with a slogan."

SANEM: "Can, I don't want special treatment when it comes to work, okay."

CAN: okay, my love, if have any questions come to me or Derin okay."

SANEM: "okay my love." Sanem sat her desk, trying to come up with something. But Aylin was constantly watching her. What is her problem. "Cece is there somewhere I can work were it's quiet, the cobra over there keeps looking at me" CeCe pulls out an evil eye necklace and puts it around her neck, and gives her another one for Leyla.

CECE: " she's something that one, nobody likes her. You probably can work in the file room, no one will bother you there."" And wear the necklace for protection, she's evil that one." CeCe started doing some funny stuff with his hand towards Aylin. Sanem is laughing.

SANEM: "CeCe what are you doing?"

CECE: " I'm trying to make Aylin not look at you"

Sanem starts giggling "you're so sweet CeCe" and she hugs him.

Sanem goes to Leyla's office and gives her the necklace,

Leyla just looks at her and says " is aunt Mevcabi here?

Sanem laughs, " no CeCe gave to us, because Aylin is giving us the evil eye."

LEYLA: " awww, CeCe he's so sweet."

SANEM: " yes, he is, so wear it, make him happy."

The girls went back to work and Sanem went to the file room for privacy. Aylin decided to pay her a visit.

Sanem looks up and sees Aylin standing next to her desk.

SANEM: " Can I help you with something? Is there a reason you're here?"

AYLIN: "I came to see if you need help, being an intern, this is all new to you "

SANEM; " I'm fine, thanks."

AYLIN: " Sanem, I see you and Can are together, that's an interesting relationship. You're so different."

SANEM: " In what way Aylin? I think we're fine, only someone judgmental would say something like that or someone who likes to cause problems which one is it or is it both!"  Aylin is trying to intimidate her.

AYLIN: " well you and your sister are more simple"

That's all"

SANEM: "actually there's nothing simple about us, why don't you ask Emre and Can, I'm sure they will be happy to tell you, they seem very pleased with us in every way." Aylin was getting angry." What's the matter Aylin did I strike a nerve!" Aylin didn't know what to say " I thought so, why don't you get back to work, and mind your own business, our relationships don't concern you."

AYLIN: "'it does when you come between couples and steel another woman's man!!"

SANEM: "we didn't steel anyone, you both were done a long time ago, before we were even in the picture, and you can tell your sidekick Polen that too, because I know you like to report back to her!" "I'm done talking to you, go do some work, instead of walking around and trying to intimidate everyone, you're an employee not the boss.!!"

AYLIN:  "'we will see who looses in the end "Leyla came in and was listening.

LEYLA; "'it won't be us that's for sure Aylin, you don't know who you're dealing with!! We might be simple but we're a lot smarter than you think, do not underestimate us!!!" Aylin was surprised to see Leyla.

LEYLA: " get back to work Aylin, or go sit in your chair in your office and look out your glass door at everyone because that's all you do all day anyway !!!"

AYLIN: " You think you won, but I will have Emre back.!" Leyla went straight into her face.

LEYLA: "go ahead and try! Because you will lose.!!"

Leyla gave her the Mevcabi stare. And Aylin flinched.

And walked out. Sanem laughed.

SANEM: "damn Leyla, the Mevcabi stare, you got to show me how to do it better, you're more intimidating when you do it than I am." The girls were laughing.

LEYLA: " she makes me so angry, she's always going into Emre's office trying to talk to him. And she always turns to see if I'm looking. I just want to punch that smirk of her face.!!"

SANEM: " I know what you mean, but we know that both Can and Emre aren't interested in them, but maybe one day you can punch her in the face, it would be good stress relief!! But make sure I'm there to see it."

LEYLA: I'll do my best to make sure you there!!"

The rest  of the afternoon was quiet, Can came down to see if Sanem is ready to go home.

CAN: princess are you ready to go home?"

SANEM: " I am , and I think I'm starting to get an idea together for compass."

CAN: "really, that's great. What did you come up with?"

SANEM: well it's still the beginning,  but, we should focus more on family camping and women, it's always about the men camping,  it could be a stress relief for families who are always on the go with their kids and work.   We can have them playing games together, hiking? And no phones for the kids." Sanem is looking at Can and is wondering what he is thinking. Can, is thinking of the concept, and starts smiling."

CAN: "bebek , I love it!! Now all we need is the slogan, your idea would be great for a commercial!! I love it. And we can show them becoming friends with other families and spending time with them playing games and hiking together." Sanem gets up and wraps her arms around Can's neck.

SANEM: " you know, we make a good team you and I."

Can grabs her and brings her close and start kissing her neck."

CAN: "yes we do, In more ways than one."

He kisses her again and says are you ready to go?

" yes, let me gather my stuff and we can leave."

While gathering her stuff Sanem hears her phone ping.

She looks at it and it's Kerem.

SANEM: Can, look."  CAN: what does he want?" Can is getting angry. Open it up read it.

SANEM: " he says he sorry, about everything that happened, and he knows he was out of line , he wants to apologize in person."

CAN: "'that's not going to happen, tell him he can forget it!"

SANEM: " maybe he's telling the truth Can."

CAN: "Sanem my love, that man is not sorry. He just wants to get on your good side. Trust me I could see it in his eyes." Maybe Can is right, better safe than sorry.

SANEM: "okay Can, I trust you. You were right about him before, so I won't even answer him back."

CAN: "Thank you Bebek, I love you"

SANEM: " I love you too handsome."

He kissed her and took her by the hand and went out for dinner with Emre and Leyla.
