Chapter 22

Sanem got to her class, late, she quietly sat down at her desk. Kerem noticed Sanem didn't look right, but he knew why, he saw the news about that jerk of a boyfriend she has. Good, now I can go after her, not that Divit would have stopped anyway.

Sanem sat in her desk, but the whole time she was in a daze, she couldn't function. Snap out of it girl, stop thinking the worst! Why do you always come into my head when I'm thinking about Can, mind your own business. no way girl you need my help and I'm not gonna stop. Shush! I'm in class leave me alone goodbye

Can got to the agency, but everyone was looking at him strangely, what's going on. He was confused.

CAN: CeCe, we're are my parents and Emre?"

CeCe couldn't look Can in the face, he was very upset, he never thought Can would hurt Sanem, then again he never thought Can could hurt anyone intentionally.

Maybe it is fake news. I should give him the benefit of the doubt.

CECE: " they're all In Aziz beys office waiting for you."

CAN: thank you CeCe, CeCe is everything ok?

CECE: " yes Can bey, they're all there."

Can walked away confused. What's going on. He walks into his father's office and everyone is sitting there like something bad happened.

CAN: "baba is everything ok, what's going on." He saw Leyla looked very upset. What's going on.

EMRE: " Can sit down, I have to show you something."

Emre showed him the news of him and Polen. Can was in shock, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

CAN: "that bitch, she set me up, I swear there is nothing going on, Leyla, you have to believe me.  I came back early from the photo shoot, I went to London to meet with the magazine, spend the night at the hotel so I can take the  flight out in the morning to come back home" and he went on to explain what happened with Polen. " Leyla I love Sanem, with all my heart. She's my other half. Can had tears coming down his cheeks, he couldn't believe what was happening.

LEYLA: "'Can, I don't know you very well, but for some reason I believe you, but you have your work cut out for you, Sanem is very hurt, she's not going to be easy to get back, the picture she found didn't help either."

CAN: " Leyla, that picture was from a fundraiser I organized, and the media saw us together they wanted a picture of us together, her family is very well known like mine is and I was well known because of my photos. they asked us to pose like that, they said that it would help with the fundraiser, and it did at the time. But I never felt anything for her I didn't even ask her to come with me, she just decided to come by herself, and was glued to me all night"

LEYLA: " You know Can, I believe you, but you have to prove it to Sanem."

CAN: " I'll go pick her up, her class should be over soon"

LEYLA; "I don't think that's a good idea, you don't want to start a scene out side of the university. She's very upset."

CAN: "Leyla, I don't like Kerem her professor, he's after her, and if he sees her vulnerable he might try to make her be with him. There is something about that guy that I don't like."

EMRE: "well let's do this, I will go with Leyla and pick her up. And we will meet you at the cafe across from the university and hopefully you can talk there."

CAN: " okay, thanks brother."

LEYLA: "Can, I warn you she's very stubborn, she's like my mother was and my aunt Mevcabi. But she has a pure heart of gold, and she loves you very much. When she talks about you it's like she glows with love. But it's not going to be easy. Just so you know."

CAN: " I know Leyla, I feel the same way, she's my other half, she makes me whole. But I can be very stubborn too, and I won't give up!"

Aziz, Emre and Miriban, agreed Can could be very stubborn, and it seems that Can has met his match.

Sanem's class was over, she went to her professor to get her book.

SANEM: " Kerem, are finished with my book. I want to find a publisher as soon as I can."

KEREM: " yes, I am, I have a few names to give you, and you can check them out."

SANEM: " okay, great thanks, see you on Friday."

KEREM: " Sanem, are you okay? Is something bothering you?"

SANEM: " just some personal stuff, nothing that concerns you or my class."

KEREM: " does it have anything to do with that jerk of a boyfriend that you have? I saw the news I am very sorry Sanem."  Sanem felt tears welling up in her eyes.

Kerem knew now is the time to make his move.

SANEM: " really it doesn't concern you, this is between Can and I." She starts walking away, and grabs her hand she looks down and then up at him again.

She takes away her hand. " is there something else you need Kerem?"

KEREM: " Sanem, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here, let's go for some coffee at the cafe across the street and we can talk."

Sanem really needed a friend right now. She was so upset. I guess a coffee wouldn't hurt. Plus if he's sleeping with his girlfriend I can have coffee with a friend!! Now she's angry!!  They both walked across the street and sat on a bench looking into the water.

In the meantime Emre and Leyla went to pick her up, but she wasn't there.

KEREM: " Sanem, how do you feel?" ( he pauses for a couple of minutes) He doesn't deserve you! Your to good for him."

SANEM: " I don't know what to think, right now I'm just so angry, I don't understand what he was doing in London when he was supposed to be in Africa for another week." Kerem is trying to get her even more mad at him.

KEREM: " maybe he never went, maybe he's been with her this whole time. He strikes me as that type. He's definitely not a one woman man!"

Sanem was feeling worse, Kerem was making her more angry, but she doesn't realize it because she's so upset.

EMRE: "Leyla, where could she had gone, she should have been out a half hour ago."

LEYLA: "'knowing Sanem, I bet she is across the street, when she needs to think, she likes looking out into the water it calms her.

EMRE: " OK let's wait here five more minutes and if she doesn't come out, we will go across the street."

SANEM: "Don't even say that, I can't. It hurts to much."

KEREM: "'Sanem, listen maybe he was or maybe he wasn't in Africa, but you deserve someone who loves you and is devoted to you in every way."

SANEM: "'I still have to listen to his side of the story, maybe it was fake news, I don't know."

KEREM: "'those two definitely looked like a couple, Sanem. And when you confront him will he tell you the truth. I don't think so, he will deny it for sure!"

Sanem was feeling so hurt, she didn't know what to think. She knows Kerem is just trying to be a friend, plus he's a guy and he knows how they think!"

Can texted Emre, asking about Sanem, Emre texted him and told him she never came out, but maybe she is across the street sitting by the water, Leyla says it relaxes her it helps her think. He decided to start walking down the edge of the water hoping she is sitting there somewhere so he can talk to her.

EMRE: "let's leave the car here and walk across the street, and see if she's there.

LEYLA: " okay, let's go, I hope she's there Emre, she's not even texting me back." They started walking across the street.

SANEM: " it doesn't matter I still want to hear what he says.  It's only fair."

KEREM: " Sanem was it fair, that he's cheating on you, I don't think so.  Move on, let go of him, he's not worth it. Trust me."

Sanem was very hurt and angry, she didn't want to believe that Can is cheating on her, there's no way. He loves me.

SANEM: " Kerem, please stop, I need to think, okay."

KEREM; " okay Sanem, just so you know, I'm here for you, whatever you want whenever you want, for you. I think he's a playboy and you deserve much better!!"

Sanem had tears running down her cheeks,  she feels someone behind her, she turns and she sees Can Looking right at her and then turns to look at kerem, and if looks could kill.

CAN: " I'm a playboy, you're trying to manipulate her against me, I can see right through you Kerem, I knew you wanted Sanem from the first day I met you! If I were you, I would leave right now."

Sanem was shocked to see him, she didn't expect him home till Sunday night.

Kerem gets up and he's face to face with Can.

KEREM: " you cheat on her and you have the nerve to come here and see her, for what to lie to her"

Can knew what this ass was doing he was trying to turn Sanem against him.

CAN: " I didn't cheat on her, and this is none of your business, so take your fake friendship and leave,  it doesn't concern you!" Can was pissed and Sanem saw it. He's very intimidating even against Kerem who is almost as big as Can.  But Kerem is not backing down.

KEREM: "you leave you hurt her enough, I'm not going anywhere Sanem wants me to stay." Can and Kerem are literally into each other's faces. Kerem bumps into Can on purpose. And Can bumps back, he's thinking go ahead Kerem throw the first punch.

Sanem, I have to stop this somehow. Or they are going to fight, people are looking at them.

CAN: " that's not going to happen,  Sanem is mine and that's the way it's going to stay"

KEREM: "I doubt it, you hurt her bad, and she's not going to forgive you, I won't allow her to get hurt anymore than she is" Kerem pushed Can's shoulder and Can went back a little, and Can pushed Kerem and he went back even further"

Sanem got up and stood between them, if she didn't stop them god only knows what would happen. She's actually scared Can might hurt him. She's never seen him like this.

SANEM: "'Can, Kerem, both of you stop, I'm not an object I'm a human being, I am no one's I do not belong either of you!! Kerem, you could leave, I'm done talking, I should have never talked to you anyway". In the meantime Emre and Leyla showed up, and saw what was happening. "Can, I can't talk to you right now" she takes him to the side to talk to him privately.

I'm done, I'm tired of competing with the women in your life, did you lie to me how could you kiss her Can, I'm disgusted, I can't even look at you right now."

CAN: "Sanem, I swear, I didn't do anything, she set me up, I love you. Please believe me"

Sanem looked at Can and said. "'I'm sorry Can, I can't right now, maybe we need to be apart for a while, just as friends, I have to think everything through this is too much for me. Please, we will be cordial towards each other but that's it. She walks towards Leyla and Emre, so they can take her home. Can has tears in his eyes, he can't believe this is happening. Emre and Leyla look at Can, and they see how heart broken he is. Leyla went back to get Sanem's bag and Looks at Can and says.

" Can, I will talk to her, but give her some time, this is a lot for her to process, Sanem is very smart she will come around." Can nodded okay to Leyla's and just watched as they walked away. Kerem had left when Sanem told him to.

Can sat by the water wiping away tears, Sanem Aydin if you think I'm going to give up it's not going to happen. I'll give you time. But in the end we will be together. No one is going to separate us!"
