Chapter 21

Can had gotten to Africa safe and sound, he called Sanem when he landed and again that evening at the hotel, they FaceTimed each other.

CAN: "Bebek what time is your class tomorrow?"

SANEM: "it's at one, it's about an hour and half class.

And don't worry my love, I won't stay later than that."

CAN: "Thanks bebek, don't forget to take my car, or even Emre Can take you and pick you up."

SANEM : "Can, please, everything will be fine, I love you," "I love you too bebek". they talked a little while longer, said there good nights and went to bed, Sanem was excited, she's in her last year, and she will be working with Can when he gets back, life is good with my love.

Can, was laying in bed thinking about Sanem, he misses her, he can't wait to get back to her. I'm going to try to work longer hours so I can get back sooner. Who would have thought, me the free spirit, doesn't care about being here, I rather be with my girl, ah Sanem, you got under my skin, I can't be without you. Both Can and Sanem fell asleep with smiles on their faces.

The next morning Sanem was cleaning up, she went into Can's room to put clothes away that she washed.

She opened his T shirt drawer, and saw a picture of him and Polen, it looks like a high class function, she looked beautiful, and Can looked so handsome in his black tuxedo. Polen has her arms around his neck, and her mouth is very close to his, like they're ready to kiss, he has his hands on her waist, and he's looking at her lips. Sanem felt a cold sweat wash over her. Tears came to her eyes, did he love her, look at the way he's looking at her. Sanem left the picture on his dresser , she went back to the pool house. Trying not to think about the picture. She knows it's in the past, but it still bothers her. Girl what are you worried about you see the way he looks at you, that's in the past. And he hardly had a relationship with her. I know, but its hard

Not to think about them together. maybe he had feelings for her or maybe he loved her. She probably forced him to take the picture, Don't worry about it, get it out of your head and get to your class. You're right, Can's with me now, he loves me and I love him.

Sanem decided to take Can's car, this way she can come straight home after class.

KEREM: " Sanem, my favorite student, welcome back!"

Sanem was embarrassed.

SANEM: please professor don't say stuff like that in front of the other students."( Sanem got irritated and embarrassed)

KEREM: "okay Sanem, ( he smiled, he noticed that she was embarrassed) did you fix your mistakes in your book?"

SANEM: " I did, you can take it look over it and give it to me at our next class."

KEREM: "' why don't you stay after class today and we can go over it".

SANEM: " I'm sorry I have things to do. That's OK. Next class will be fine. I'll give it to you at the end of class today." Kerem was disappointed, but Sanem didn't want to go against Can's wishes. Plus she felt more comfortable that way too.

The first week went by pretty fast, Sanem was excited because Leyla, was coming on Saturday to start her new job on Monday. Sanem called Can that night and talked about everything, and anything, they must of been on face time for an hour at least. Can didn't tell Sanem, he will be coming home a couple days earlier, he wanted to surprise her.

Leyla came Saturday, the girls were so excited to see each other, and Emre and Leyla also seemed very happy to see each other. Sanem was happy, she liked Emre, he's perfect for her sister.

SANEM: " so Leyla, Emre looked so happy when he saw you. And so did you".                                                   LEYLA : " I am Sanem, do you know we've talked every night since I left, he's so sweet." Leyla had a huge smile on her face. " and you and Can, your glowing, I think someone is in love"

SANEM: " I am Leyla, he's so good to me. Do you believe that two sisters with two brothers are together, just like our parents."

LEYLA: "that is definitely a coincidence, who would have thought." The girls were so happy, but Leyla noticed Sanem had something on her mind. "Sanem, whats wrong?" Sanem told Leyla about the picture and how she felt about it. " Sanem, Can loves you, I have no doubt, if he loved Polen, he would have married her a long time ago. Plus three, four times a year is not a relationship.  He's a young good looking guy, that's the way  all guys are, different women all the time.  I'm sure Emre has had his share." Leyla got a sad look on her face.

SANEM: "uhm Leyla, why are you upset, it's all in the past." They look at each other and start laughing.

All in the past so they will try to leave it in the past.

Can finished the shoot early, he was on his way back to London to meet with the magazine and leave the next day for Istanbul. He couldn't wait to get home.

Can, finished his work with the magazine and headed for the hotel. He stopped at the hotel bar to have a quick drink. He hears a voice behind him. " Can, I'm so glad you're here!"  Polen, puts her arms around his neck and kisses him on the lips. He was stunned, he pushes her away, "what the hell are you doing?"

She puts her arms around him again and presses up close to him, with her face close to his. He pushes her away again , he's very angry.

CAN: "what is your problem Polen! Don't ever do that again. I told you we're done, Don't you have any self respect!!

POLEN: " Can, we belong together, please, we've been together for so long"

CAN: "who told you I was here?"

POLEN: "I know everyone at the magazine Can, I found out from them. Come let's go somewhere where and talk. Please." Polen is getting irritated.

CAN: "no Polen stay away from me, do you hear me!" Can was furious.

POLEN: " Your dating that village girl, you left me for her! Really Can,"

CAN: " there was never any us and you know it, I made myself clear from the beginning. Stop calling me, go find someone who will love you Polen, because it's definitely not me!!" And he walked away, Polen was so angry. "I'm not done Can!!"

Can, couldn't believe what just happened, what's wrong with her. I can't wait to get back to Sanem.

It was Monday morning, Leyla was ready for her first day at work, she was so excited.

MIRIBAN: " Leyla are you excited, I think you are going to love working there."

LEYLA: " I know I am, thank you for giving me the opportunity."

They all had breakfast together and Emre took Leyla and Sanem to work with him . Sanem was going to HR to fill out some forms and then, walk to the university for her class. It was very close to the agency.

The three of them walked in together, Aylin was watching Leyla and Emre. She can tell something was going on between them.

She walks into Emre's office, very angry.

AYLIN; "who is that, why did you hire her?"

EMRE: "who I hire is none of your business, get back to work."

AYLIN: " are you involved with her?"

EMRE: " if I am, it's none of your businesses, we were done a long time ago, so get back to work. I have a new employee to train."

AYLIN: " Emre, are you two together!"

EMRE: "'Aylin, no we're not, I knew her from college, we're friends, okay, now get the hell out of my office and do some work!" She went back to her desk, but was not happy.

AYLIN: " I'm keeping an eye on you Emre Divit, I'm no fool!"

Miriban and Aziz were watching this, they are worried about Aylin causing problems. This is not good.

But they also noticed the staff was busy gossiping,

Sanem walked up to CeCe, to say hello, CeCe was all nervous, he couldn't look at Sanem.

SANEM: "'CeCe what is wrong with you? Are you okay?" What are you looking at?" She grabs his laptop and sees can and Polen kissing and another one of them hugging each other, they are very close to each other.

The captioning read. "Can Divit back in London from Africa with his love Polen Ezros.

Sanem was devastated, Miriban saw something was going on, Sanem seemed very upset.

MIRIBAN: "Sanem what's wrong?" Sanem shows her the laptop, Miriban is in shock. "Sanem, there is no way this is true. I know Can loves you." Sanem started to leave.

SANEM: " I'm sorry Miriban, I have a class to get to."

Miriban tried to stop her, but she kept going. She was in a daze. She sat on bench across from the agency looking out into the water. She had tears in her eyes, he's been playing with me, I can't believe it. What a fool I've been. But I guess he's a player, and then he tells me to stay away from Kerem!! Girl, think, there is no way they are together.

Leave me alone. Okay Sanem, put your problems away, don't think about it, forget him!!  you have a class. Forget him.

Miriban went to Aziz's office and showed him the laptop, he couldn't believe it.

AZIZ: "there is no way this true. He loves Sanem, Can would never cheat on her."

MIRIBAN: " I agree, but how do we get Sanem to believe him, she didn't seem right when she left, I'm worried about her."

Leyla and Emre came into the office they saw the news.

Leyla was angry, she was hurting for her sister.

AZIZ: " Leyla, don't believe these lies, I know Can, he loves Sanem. He would never cheat on her."

LEYLA: "I don't know what to believe, Aziz bey, Can is linked to a lot of women, and Polen was seen with him the most, there are many pictures of them together. Plus Sanem found a picture of the two of them together in one of his drawers when she was putting his clothes away, I'm sorry, but my sister can be very stubborn and I have a feeling that she's very hurt and she's not gonna believe what he has to say to her and right now I feel the same way I'm sorry, but those those pictures, look like they are together."

EMRE: " Leyla, you see the way he looks at her, he loves her, I've never seen him like that."

MIRIBAN: "I agree, I think Polen set him up, she did it on purpose, because she found out about Sanem."

LEYLA: " I hope you're right, because I know Sanem, she's not going to let this go. She's not going to trust Can, because those pictures are very convincing."

Miriban and Aziz, were very upset, they didn't know what to do. They tried calling Can, but no answer.

Can was on the plane going back to Istanbul.  He didn't get any sleep. He couldn't believe what Polen did. What a nasty person, I never thought she was like that.

But then again, we were never together for long periods of time. Ah Sanem I can't wait to see you, I miss you and love you so much.

Can got home to an empty home, but he knew everyone was at work and Sanem will probably be in her class. He made some tea and went to his room to take a shower and put his stuff away. He takes his shower comes out and goes to the dresser to get a T shirt out. And there he sees the picture of Polen and him. What the hell, I forgot I even had this, this is from like two years ago.  Sanem must of found this, but she didn't say anything. I have to talk to her, she must be upset. Can calls Emre.

EMRE: " Can, is everything okay, we're are you?"

CAN: "I'm here in Istanbul, I just got back about two hours ago. What's wrong, you don't sound good."

Did something happen, is anyone hurt or sick?"

EMRE; "no nothing like that, come to the agency so we can talk."

CAN: " okay, but I want to see Sanem, I want to surprise her, I finished my shoot early, so I can come back and be with her."

EMRE: "Sanem is in class, come to the agency, she's coming back here after class so we can come home together." They agreed and Can got ready and left to go to the agency."

AZIZ: " Emre, he's coming here, good, he knows nothing of what is going on. He is going to be pissed"

Emre talked to Leyla, and told her that Can finished his photo shoot early to come back to see Sanem and surprise her.

EMRE: " Leyla, Can came back early to surprise Sanem, I really think Polen set him up."

LEYLA: "'I hope you're right, I'm very worried about her Emre, I didn't like the way she left here, she looked shocked out of it. She loves him so much, this will kill her if it's true. And I have to tell you, those pictures are very convincing.

Emre, Leyla, Aziz and Miriban waited for Can to come to the Agency.  All were very upset.

MIRIBAN: " Aziz, it looks like history repeats itself."

Remember, all the problems we had, from one person in particular?" Aziz looked at Miriban, and knew exactly who he was talking about, HUMA!
