Three days had passed since great grandma had paid me a visit . My days passed relatively positive if I had to say so myself til it happened.

I kept having a feeling that something was going to happen which very much unsettled me .

I wanted to tell my parents about my bad feeling but I thought it was nothing so I forgot about it .

One Wednesday night I was asleep, well I thought I was . I kept seeing a laughing shadow in my dream and it kept laughing and saying " I'm finally free" I was astonished by those words.

What did the shadow mean by it was finally free? The question plagued my mind .

Just then a sinister sounds like thunder rumbled which made me wake up . My breathing was shallow and I felt my skin crawling .

I knew at that moment that something evil had broken from the shackles of fate . I stood up with a dagger in my hand ready to fight .

My body was drenched with sweat and I trembled somehow feeling great fear overcome me .

That's when I heard whispers , " the evil one has broken loose child". One voice spoke then another followed it , " it wants the demise of your family " .

I listened to them with my back straight . " Who is it ?" I asked .

" The queen mother is dead " was all they said before they disappeared. The queen mother , was finally dead .

I know I should have felt relived but all I felt was uneasiness. I walked to my parents' room only to meet with them in the hallway.

I tried to say something but my Mother beat me to it , " I know son ,she's finally dead " .

He looked relieved but I did not . I looked at both of them , " I do not feel comfortable with her death " they both looked at me strangely.

" Why not son?" Father ,asked . " Her death makes me feel uneasy" . My mother , nodded. " Then we will need to be extra careful from now on ".

We told everyone about her death and strangely nobody moaned her death . They all looked relieved .

No one spoke to me at the funeral but I did not care at that moment .

I just kept on feeling that something was amiss . Even when I saw her cold body in the casket slowly being buried underground.

I looked at my Lolo , and he was sitting with his family . I noticed the look on his grandfather's face . He had a strange smile on his face .

Even though no one was sad about her death atleast they kept up the sad atmosphere . He on the other hand looked relaxed and happy even .

I knew he was a very powerful medicine man , and I heard he was proficient in making poison.

Him being so happy made me very suspicious and that strange bad feeling once again appeared.

A week passed after her funeral but still the feeling did not go away .

I did not talk to my parents about it again because I thought it was no big deal .

While all of this was happening I had not seen my Lolo , for a long time and I missed him , so I decided to visit him.

I walked to his home and met with aunt Nina, she smiled at me like always. " Hello little Gift , how is your mother?" She asked .

" He is well aunt Nina" . She smiled sweetly and nodded . " Are you looking for my son?" I nodded happily.

" He went to fetch firewood dear , you can find him deep in the mountain" . I nodded and turned to walk away ," thanks aunt Nina, I'll go find him".

I ran to the mountain yet I could not find him so I finally decided to use my gift . " Where is he ?" I asked the trees .

" Just on the foot of the mountain on the left child " I thanked them then ran to him.

Just then I felt pressure and it made me feel weak and in pain. I screamed and spit out blood from my mouth.

" Who are you ? Show yourself!" I yelled angrily. How dare they try to kill me . No one appeared but I heard their sinister laughter.

" Tell your mother he's done for this time around and as for you little pale boy I know how to deal with you".

After saying those words the pressure disappeared. I wiped the blood staining my mouth .

I knew that voice yet I could not place it . I refused to believe it belonged to that woman. It could not possibly belong to her .

I continued to my destination still shaken by what had happened . I finally found Lolo , yet I felt something was wrong with him.

" Queen Lolo " I called to him gently . He turned and his eyes were dark . " Hello little prince" his voice sounded wrong .

I touched the bead bracelet , and spoke to the grass spirits. " Bind him " I commanded . They did as told and held onto Lolo , tightly.

" Release my wife you evil spirit!"

I commanded it while my voice turned deeper as I was very angry. I felt pressure being released from my body .

It began to scream and Lolo , shook and fell down but I caught him before his body hit the ground . " He is not my vessel anyway" .

After it left I looked at Lolo , who opened his eyes slowly . He looked confused. " What happened?" He asked with a frown.

" Something is after you Lolo , and I need you to be weary " he looked at me with calm eyes .

" There is always something when your involved Ukhanyo, why is that ?" I looked down and refused to answer .

" Don't just suddenly became mute answer me! " He yelled angrily. " Whatever it is that is after me really wants to destroy you right?" .

I still did not say a word , " stop it! Just stop getting me involved in your problems , can't you let me live in peace?" .

Finally I looked at him , " Lolo , your destiny is tired with mine and you can't escape it " he bit his lip in frustration .

I knew it was not the right moment for it but I felt a strange urge to kiss his supple , soft looking lips .

Why did my bride have to look so delicious yet so stubborn. My eyes darkened as I looked at him more intensely.

As if sensing danger he jumped away from me holding his clothes tightly as if he was suspicious that I had taken them off.

Well I wanted to do that but it was not the right time yet , he was not my official bride yet.

I licked my lips as I looked at him up and down. " Stop staring at me you perverse prince " I chuckled at his words.

" It's a pity your so weary off me which is good because if you land In my trap little prey I'm going to eat you up " .

He backed away at those words and I moved closer . When he was almost in my arms , the trees spoke to me ,making me sigh .

" Child it's not safe at this moment take your beloved home " . I nodded at them then looked at Lolo.

" It's not safe here let's go home" he shook his head . " I was sent to fetch firewood I can't just leave it " I knew he was stubborn so I helped him gather it .

I carried the firewood easily on my shoulder while holding Lolo , with my free hand . He protested at first but finally gave up .

When we got to his home I looked at Lolo , then took out a bead necklace , from my pocket.

" Lolo , I want you to have this , please don't refuse it , you know your in danger and it will help you so please keep it with you at all times " .

I thought he would refuse but to my surprise he took it . Without a word he carried the firewood inside the yard and I walked home .

On my way I bumped into her . " If it is not the village witch" Nosipho , mocked . Her words where not what made me stop .

No it was her aura , somehow it felt different , more sinister .

I looked at her and my body stiffened. I frowned and asked the question that had been bothering me since she spoke to me .

" Who are you ?"
