After that relaxing day with my wife . Time seemed to pass slowly yet peacefully .

You should know , with my luck if it seems too peaceful , something unexpected is bound to happen .

It  was just after supper , me and my wife were just talking happily , when we heard a thud from outside our room .

It sounded like something or someone had fallen down . I jumped into action after hearing that .

Lolo , tried to follow me outside but I stopped him , causing him to roll his pretty eyes in annoyance .

"I'm not that delicate " he grumbled , sulking a bit .

I found it cute ,so I forgot about the disturbance outside .

That was until we heard a groan . I walked outside , I could hear the crickets making noise , which was a bit annoying and it also gave me a strange eerie feeling.

I finally found the source of the sound . It was a young man and he clutched onto the left side of his stomach tightly .

That got me a bit suspicious , I walked closer to him as he groaned again . It sounded like a pained groan .

When I got closer to see his face , I was a bit surprised . It was Jobe , and he was bleeding, from the left side of his stomach .

I picked him up and rushed him , into our room without waking anyone .

Well that was my plan, yet I still found my mother standing in the hallway , looking a bit out of it .

" His lucky , he was going to be a sacrifice tonight" that was all he said before he left .

I rushed to my room only to bump into Joy . He smiled at me , while looking at Jobe , with cold eyes .

He laughed a bit as well , which kind of frightened me . I could see a bit of anger in his eyes .

" I hate the smell of blood, elder brother , it makes me lose my mind , little by little " .

I moved away from him slowly . He did not follow me , yet he spoke again .

This time his voice sounding a bit hurt. " Are you afraid of me Gigi?" He asked looking right into my eyes .

Honestly it was hard not to be frightened , but I knew that he would never hurt me .

" Go and give him to your wife , he'll know what to do " with that he walked away from me without another word.

I finally made it to our room, which made me breath a sigh of relief.

Lolo , gasped seeing his younger brother in my arms . " Oh my god , what happened to him?" He asked very concerned .

"I don't know " we both looked at Jobe. The man himself ,was in too much pain to answer anything .

Lolo , did not waste time . He took out his flute and played it . Jobe , became quiet at that .

His breathing evened and I knew he was asleep . I made him a makeshift bed on the ground , while Lolo , went to look for some medicinal herbs.

He came after a few minutes with a sticky green paste which smelled too much for my liking .

He cleaned the wound and applied the medicine before he looked at me .

" It was a stab wound , a pretty deep one at that " he said sniffling a bit .

I pulled him into my arms with a sigh . " It will be fine " I said kissing his forehead .

" Nothing will be fine Ukhanyo , they almost killed my younger brother , this has to stop , they have gone too far " .

I nodded without a word . " My mother told me they wanted to use him as some kind of sacrifice " .

Lolo , looked at me hearing that . " They really will not stop then , they could not use me so they went after him , how despicable".

He said angrily . I was about to say something when I heard whispering in my ear .

"They want to use him as a sacrifice like they did to me " Sir Xolo ,said .

" What ?" I asked him a bit astonished. "Hello young prince , it seemed I gave you a clue to what happened to me yet I still cannot remember " .

I nodded in understanding .

I did tell him I'd help him find out what happened to him .

By what he said it seemed I was one puzzle closer to the mystery .

We heard another groan at that very moment .

We both turned out heads to Jobe , who had now opened his eyes .

His eyes landed on Lolo , and like a little child having found his guardian after getting lost . He threw himself at Lolo , and cried .

I had never seen him so frightened and vulnerable . I preferred his usual haghty self compared to the Jobe, who was crying in my wife's arms .

" Elder brother , they tried to kill me and he allowed it , he was the one who took me there " . After he said that he passed out .

We both sighed at his words . " Is he really going to be okay ?" Lolo , asked me as he lay Jobe , down on his makeshift bed again .

" Honestly love , I don't know " even I was still looking for answers , how could I answer anyone .

We decided to call it a night . That night the atmosphere was so tense we could not fall asleep until dawn .

The next time we woke up , it was already the afternoon of the next day .

I sighed feeling very hungry . Luckily mother had left some food for us .

Jobe , was also awake , yet he did not say a word to any of us .

That was until Lolo , spoke . " I'm craving carrot cake" Jobe , looked at him strangely at that .

" You hate carrots elder brother "Lolo , nodded in agreement , "your right  I loathe carrots but for some reason I feel like eating it " .

"Mama , also hates it but I know he can make carrot cake like a pro" .

Lolo , nodded ," I'll ask him to make me one , it must be very big" .

I went to find my mother after we spoke . He was talking to my Father about something . " Mama , I need your help" .

I said bowing to the two of them in greeting . " What happened dear?" He asked curiously .

" Can you please make carrot cake for Lolo , he really craves it " .

Mother , looked at me strangely . " Your wife hates carrot cake though " he said with certainty .

" I just heard he does from Jobe , but for some reason he wants it really bad " .

My mother's eyes sparkled at that ." Oh my it seems I need to start preparing " he said jumping from father's lap .

He ran to call both aunt Meriam and aunt Lebo . I looked at father with a raised brow .

He smiled calmly , " your wife has conceived , congratulations son" .

One question ran through my mind at that moment ." What ?"
