Arielle Moore and Vinson Nightshire
If the rumors about Turlenâs ancestry being out of the ordinary were true, perhaps he should keep this a secret from Arielle.
This was his way to protect her.
Vinson had decided to investigate more about Turlen before telling Arielle about this.
Meanwhile, Arielle had interrogated Cindy again but to no avail.
Matthias was concerned about Cindyâs situation as he urged again, âArielle, please let us go now. Cin told you everything she knows, and I can assure you that she has told you the truth!â
Arielle didnât react to that as she took in even the slightest change in Cindyâs expression.
The Wilhelms had only picked up ancient Chanaean medicine in the past decade. Growing up with two of the top psychologists in the world, Arielle was skillful in reading oneâs microâexpressions.
She analyzed Cindyâs microâexpressions with her knowledge in behavioral psychology, and she could finally conclude that Cindy was indeed not hiding anything from her.
âAll right then.â Arielle nodded. âIâll keep true to my words. Untie Matthias now.â
Matthiasâ eyes lit up upon hearing that, and he quickly untied himself with the help of the bodyguards around him.
Once he was freed, he immediately ran over to Cindy and hugged her.
âCin, are you okay?â
There were traces of blood on her lips as she leaned against Matthias. She shook her head weakly.
âIâm fineâ¦â
âLetâs go! She has agreed to let us go.â
Cindy was still in a daze, and she regained some energy upon hearing this.
âCan we really leave now?â
âWe can. She has freed me.â
Cindy was surprised. She wondered why Arielle agreed to let her go after learning that she was involved in her motherâs death.
However, she figured she should just leave this awful place as soon as possible.
âLetâs go.â Cindy stood up, and with Matthias supporting her, they walked toward the exit together like a bittersweet couple.
âWait a minute,â said Arielle.
Cindy and Matthias stopped in their tracks.
Cindy turned around and shot Arielle a fierce glare. âAre you going back on your own words now?â
âNope.â Arielle shrugged. âI did say I will let you go, but I didnât say Iâd let the both of you go.â
Matthias was so mad that the veins on his forehead were bulging. He gritted his teeth. âArielle, what do you want?â
Arielle smiled faintly. âCindy only answered one question, so I can only let one of you go. For the sake of fairness, Iâll allow you to make your own choice in this.â
Cindy and Matthias yelled in unison, âYou tricked us!â
Arielle replied innocently, âI did not trick you. It was a deal. Since she only answered one question, itâs only fair to let one of you go. I donât have much time to waste. Youâd better make your choice now.â
âHow dare you trick us with a play on words?â Matthias pointed his finger at Arielleâs nose, and he looked so mad as if he wanted to skin her alive.
Vinson stepped forward and slapped Matthiasâs hand away. âIf you dare point another finger at her, none of you will be leaving today. You should make your choice now if you donât want that to happen.â
Matthias mulled over this, knowing that Arielle would. only let one of them go.
