Chapter 122
Arielle Moore and Vinson Nightshire
Chapter 122 Please Forgive Me How is this possible?
Jordan, who stood not far from the patientâs bed, reacted as though it was all surreal to him.
On the other side, Vinson regarded Carter who had firmly trapped his wrist. âWill you let go now?â
Carter did as asked, and self-consciously cleared his own throat.
Who wouldâve guessed that a few needles placed by a young lass into the patient would be able to cure him.
She has proven herself to be infinitely more capable than the internationally renowned Dr. Jankowitsch!
But didnât she say that she only understood a little?
How could this be considered just little?
By now, Arielleâs fingers moved and she frailly opened her eyes.
What greeted her was a scene of carnage in the room; the smashed fragments of the vase that used to stand by the door laid all over the floor; the television turned overâit was as though some fierce battle had taken place.
She sat up, confounded. âWhat just happened?â
Vinson strode toward her, but did not give her a straight answer. âHow are you feeling?â
Arielle shook her head and was about to speak when the man in the bed next to hers exclaimed in Ustranasion, âItâs yâall!â
Carter chopped down on the manâs neck with his back of his hand posthaste, causing the manâs eyeballs to roll into his skull and fall into unconsciousness.
That shocked Arielle but she quickly recovered. âWas he conscious?â
âYeah.â Vinson nodded as he glanced meaningfully at the discomfited Carter before withdrawing his gaze. âAll thanks to you. Otherwise, we might have to tend to him for an entire year.â
The increasingly embarrassed Carter pulled out his phone and made a call. âSend a few guys upstairs and move the fella back to my place.â
Since the man was able to communicate normally, it was time for him to begin his âinterrogationâ.
Full of admiration, Klaus came before Arielle to laud her with praise. âYour medical expertise is truly astonishing! My two teachers were right in commending the profundity of traditional Chanaean medicine, and truly, there is much from which our modern medicine can learn from. To be honest, I did not think much of it in the beginning and thought they were just wasting time making the long trip to this backwater, but it would seem that I was too ignorant.â
Arielle replied in way that was neither servile nor overbearing, âIndeed, thereâs quite a lot that modern medicine could learn from traditional Chanaean medicine, but to me, the two have always been complementary in nature. Itâs just the prejudices of some that prevented them from being more open to exploring it.â
Carter was pertinent when he heard that, but he was not the type too prideful to admit his own mistake.
After a brief pause, he regarded Arielle solemnly. âThe truly ignorant one is me, Ms. Moore. Please accept my sincere apologies! I hope that you would be able to forgive me for my transgressions.â
Arielle could sense Carterâs sincerity and decided to let things slide. âItâs okay since you just didnât understand it before, but I hope that you would eventually be able to let go of your apprehensions against traditional Chanaean medicine.â
âSure thing.â Carter seemed quite invigorated. âIâll go speak to my father first thing tomorrow morning and ask him to include plans for a traditional Chanaean medicine hospital in our developmental blue-
print.â
Arielle twitched her lower lip weakly. âIf traditional Chanaean medicine could find greater development within your family, it can only be a good thing.â
Vinsonâs brows became bound in a tight furrow. âWhat has traditional Chanaean medicineâs development to do with you? Dr. Janokowitsch, go get the nurse to put her on a drip.â
Arielle instinctively rejected it. âIâm fineâ¦â
Vinson was expressionless while he remained cautionary. âDonât push yourself. Remember that youâll still need to climb your way back into the hotel.â
Arielle fell silent upon hearing that.
She knew her own body well, and understood that it needed attention owing to the delicate state it was in.
Vinsonâs expression seemed to softened after seeing that she was no longer resistant. âAlright, you should rest up. Try to speed up the DNA processing on your end, Carter.â
