44: Who do I pick?

Gracen's view

For some reason I couldn't sleep last night no matter how hard I tried. Emery was the one thing on my mind all night. I have to think of something to show her how much she means to be.

I sat down at my desk in my room for hours trying to figure out what to do.

"Wow, you're so deep in thought. That's knew," replied my little brother Skylar giggling.

"Whatever Sky. I'm trying to find a way to get my girl back," I told him.

"Duh, just tell her how you feel," he told me.

"I know, but I never say the right thing," I told him sadly.

"Then find a way to show her stupid," said my sister entering the room and sitting on my bed.

"How the heck do I do that," I asked them.

"Look who's asking for advice now," teased my sister.

"You guys please help me," I begged them.

"Show her what you guys had was so special and rare," said my little brother.

My sister and I looked at him in utter shock for his love advice.

"Make her a video, videos are cool," he added.

I jumped out of my chair and ran over to hug my brother.

"You're a genius Skylar. I know what to do from here," I said as I went to my computer to combine a bunch of pictures of Emery and I into a video.

Emery's view

It was Saturday and I got ready to go meet Emma to study. I know that Aiden and my whole family thinks it's a date, but I still have hope it's not.

It's not that I don't think Emma is cool. She is, but I can't get my mind off of Grace no matter what I do.

When I got to Starbucks, I immediately found Emma and we started studying right away. She was teaching me so much about thermodynamics and I actually understood. Never once, did Emma try anything with me, so I guess it wasn't a date after all which I was glad about.

After two hours of studying we went to have lunch. We talked about all our classes and what we wanted to major in. After we finished eating we headed out and just as I was about to leave, Emma pulls me back.

"You know, screw the whole friend thing, I'm going to give this a try," she said before pulling me in for a kiss.

I widened my eyes in pure shock at the sudden event that took place. Then a second later Gracen popped into my head.

As much as I didn't want to think of her, she kept coming back. While Emma had her lips on mine, I could only picture myself kissing Gracen. So I pulled away from Emma and kept distance between us.

"I'm so sorry Emma, but I can't. I still very much have strong feelings for my ex. I just can't help it and I really don't want to lead you on. I hope you can understand," I told her softly.

She looked down for a few seconds then looked at me with a sad expression.

"It's okay. I understand. Hey, at least I won't regret not doing anything. You're ex is lucky to have ever had someone as smart and kind as you," she said.

"Thank you Emma. I hope we can still be good friends though," I asked.

"Of course we can. Don't worry about that. Now go talk to your ex-girlfriend," she told me.

I smiled and pulled her in for a hug before thanking her and leaving. I made up my mind, I want Gracen. I will always choose her no matter what.

Gracen's view

After a few days, I finally finished making Emery the video. I poured my heart and soul into it and now I'm going to show it to her and hope it works.

But first, I plan to show Jordie and Clare, so we made plans to meet up at a cute cafe. I'm also helping them with their plan to get their best friend Emery back.

When I parked and got out I thought I saw Emery. I looked back at two girls leaving a restaurant and I notice that it's actually Emery, I'd know her anywhere.

The next thing that happened left me heart broken and numb. Because the girl that she was with pulled her and kissed her.

It felt like my world was crashing down. My heart ached and it took everything not to cry my eyes out. I couldn't take it anymore, so I ran.

I ran for a few minutes before I stopped and kneeled down in the grass and let a few tears slip by. I couldn't believe it, Emery was moving on after all.

It hurt to think that, but I didn't know what else to think about that kiss. I was feeling a gut dropping pain in my heart and I don't know what to do.

I cry for a while until I feel somewhat okay to walk back to the cafe to talk to Jordie and Clare.

Emery's view

The first thing I did when I got home was immediately call Gracen, but she didn't answer her phone. After several attempts she still didn't answer, so I decided to call her again tomorrow to tell her I love her.

In the meantime I finished all my homework and then rehearsed what I would say to Gracen.

I can't wait to be able to have her in my arms again and kiss her. All this time away from her just made my love for her that much stronger.

I went to sleep as happy as can be.
