16: Oops

Gracen's view

The last few days have been weird with Emery. Like she's still talking with me, but I can see a shift. She hasn't brought up the other day at all. Plus she doesn't get as close to me anymore. The worst part is that our hello and goodbye hugs have been substituted for just waves. Seriously I don't understand what's going on between us. One moment we get so close the next she pushes away. I wonder why she does it. I have to get her to trust me enough. I want to show her she doesn't have to keep walls up with me.

Who knows, maybe things change between us really soon. Preferably in the party later today. Maybe I just need to show her how to let loose and have fun.

Emery's view

Finally, it's Friday! Time for a lot of sleeping. As you might have guessed I'm not the most sociable person, so when Aiden and Gracen brought up the party my initial answer was no. But after a while and the combination of Gracen's, Aiden's and Clare's puppy dog faces I finally gave in. Great. I'm going to an alcohol full and disgusting smelling party. Where people will probably intoxicated and everyone will be dancing super close together all sweaty. Yuck. Not the ideal place I'd want to be in.

Gracen gave me a ride, but we took a detour to her house first so she could change. The car ride was pretty quiet, and that's probably my fault. I was nervous to go near her house or anywhere with her alone. She had a nice house, looked very cozy. She led me to her room and went to her huge closet. Well I think it is, compared to me, she had a lot of clothes. I'm pretty much of a tomboy so I have a bunch of jeans and t shirts.

It took her 1 hour to actually find 4 different dresses she liked that she couldn't decide between. Me having Adhd, this was torture. I was practically almost falling asleep on her bed. She asked me for help on choosing and I just gave her a dumbfounded look, and she said never mind. She grabbed one she liked best and starting undressing right in front of me. I immediately woke up and turned around quickly to hide my embarrassing blushed face. She noticed and laughed and went to finish changing in her closet.

When she came out, she had on this beautiful dark blue dress which fit her every curve. Wow, she looked hot. I could not keep my eyes off of her.

"How do I look? Is it good or bad? Should I change?"

"..Um...wow...you look beautiful," I blurted out. Oh my God, can't believe I said that. I just had to make it more awkward though. Ugh.

"I mean beautiful nice, as in that's a nice color. Matches with your shoes," I said. Shoot me now. She wasn't even wearing shoes yet.

Gracen gave me a heart breaking smile and giggled a little. She thanked me and asked if I knew what I was wearing. My answer of course was no idea. She said hold on before searching in her closet. She pulled out a cute black dress and told me to try it on.

"Umm, I'm okay thx. Dresses aren't my thing,"

"Come on Emery, Please. Pretty please with a cherry on top," begged Gracen.

I just couldn't say no to her. She looked so cute with her little pout and really hot with that dress. So I changed and when I came out, she eyed me up.

"Wow, Em, you clean up very nicely. You look amazing," she said.

Of course I blushed. After that we went to my house to pick up my brothers. Every once in a while I'd catch Gracen glancing at me with a cute smile. Plus I couldn't take my eyes of her, she looked great.

When we got to the party, it was pretty crowded and crazy. I'm so glad I remembered my medication because if I didn't I'd be fricking out over the noise and how close everyone is. Clare immediately asked Gracen to dance with her because she knew I and the guys would not. I was kind of bummed without Gracen by my side. So I started talking with my brothers. Every now and then Ethan and Jordie would have a longing stare with one another. They would for sure make a good couple, but Ethan wasn't out yet. Someone came up to me which brought me out of my thoughts.

"Hey Emery, you look nice," said Zander kindly. Great, I have to converse with other people. Well, at least he's cute.

"Thank you Zander. You look good too,"

Then out of nowhere Kai popped out and started talking with everyone. He slurred a lot of his words, so he was pretty drunk. He had a water bottle and was saying it was the best and purest alcohol. Straight up vodka, he gave it to everyone in my group to try. Except for me, I don't drink, I never want to drink. I never want to turn into my dad, plus alcohol mixed with my medication would be pretty bad. Ethan and Jordie just smelled it and you could tell it was strong by their reaction. Aiden was the only who tried it, and he just took a tiny sip and his face was so funny and he coughed a little. As he was giving it back to Kai, Clare and Gracen came back from dancing.

"Oh wow, I'm so sweaty now and so thirsty. Oh you have water Aiden. Let me have some," she said as she grabbed it from Aiden and gulped some down before anyone could say anything.

Everyone had such a shocked and worried expression. Aiden immediately took it out of her hands, but she already drank half.

"Woah... w-what was that. Yumm, I-it d-did not taste like w-water th-though," she said while giggling and hiccupping.

Well this was going to be a tough night. What the heck are we supposed to do. Gracen is already drunk, by accident. This is why you're never supposed to drink anything at parties, you never know if it's actually water or not.

Aiden told Gracen that it wasn't water. The only thing Gracen said was,

"Ohhhhh, oops."
