6 | DEMON MIKAELSON
WAR OF HEARTS • hayley marshall
Khalia entered the living room of her home, still in her pajamas, and immediately frowned as her entire body became rigid and alert at the scene. Hayley was on the couch, flipping through a book while there was a witch sitting oppisite her and Rebekah is over at the coffee table, typing on a laptop. Letting out a growl she sped in front of Agnes her face to Hayley, a deadly glare on her face while Hayley smiled happily at the sight of the immortal girl.
"What are you doing in my house, witch?" She sneered at the witch elder and fear imbedded itself in Anges when she looked at the face of the woman infront of her. She didn't fear vampires, but she feared Khalia Mikaelson, who in her eyes wasn't a vampire but a monster. And evil and deadly monster. She would much rather deal with Klaus Mikaelson than his demon of a sister.
Rebekah saw her sister's glare on the witch and knew that if Agnes opened her mouth, Khalia would rip her heart out no matter what comes out of it. She also knew that Hayley has some kind of influence on her sister, no matter how much the girl would deny it, so she looked at Hayley and gestured to Khalia with wide eyes and she hoped that the werewolf recieved the message.
Luckily she did.
Hayley stood up from the couch and gently placed her hand on the vampire's shoulder. "Khalia, she was just telling me that I need to go to the doctor." At her words, worry bloomed in Khalia and she spun around so quickly that Hayley nearly fell to the floor but Khalia's grip on her hips kept her in place.
The same fire as the night before began to burn in Hayley once more as Khalia said, "Why do you need the doctor?"
"I don't, it's for the baby." At her explanation, a weight lifted of Khalia and she let out a quiet sigh of relief while Hayley was melting on the inside. Her mind was fuzzy and her knees wanted to give in. Khalia realised what she was doing and let go of Hayley's hips. The fire was still alight in Hayley, and she was hot all over, but she felt cold from the lack of physical contact between them and frowned slightly when Khalia moved away and walked out of the room and to the kitchen for a blood bag but listenend in on the conversation.
"But I told you Agnes, I feel great!" Hayley said annoyed, more so from the lack of Khalia's presence than the persistance of the elder witch.
"You are overdue for a checkup." Anges pointed out, feeling more comfortable now that the demon - as she thought of Khalia - was out of the room.
"What am I gonna do? Pop into the Quarter for a quick ultrasound? A pregnant werewolf escorted by a witch? Nothing to see here!" Khalia laughed heartily from Hayley's sass from her position in the kitchen and the werewolf smiled widely when she heard the sound and her stomach fluttered wildly when she realised that she made the vampire laugh.
"A lot of women would kill to have a child. It strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours." Rebekah said, midly jealous and Khalia sighed. She knew that her sister wanted nothing more than a family of her own but she couldn't reproduce due to her state of vampirism. Khalia on the other hand- she didn't want kids. They annoyed her to no end because she could never find it in her heart to hurt one or say no to them. She and Kol had multipule arguments about killing children because she would never let him kill one and would ignore him if he did. And it is for this reason that she avoided children as far as she possibly could.
"I know a doctor out in the Bayou, off the beaten path. Now, I took the liberty of making an appointment for you. Tonight, after-hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it." Anges said and Khalia narrowed her eyes and sped to the living room.
"What's the catch?" She asked, glaring at the witch once again and Agnes swore she died for a second when she looked into the vampires dark and cold eyes.
"Nothing." She eventually squeaked out and looked at Hayley once again, her heart pounding from Khalia's heated glare on her. The immortal brunette turned her gaze to Hayley, who thinks for a moment and rolls her eyes in reluctant agreement.
"Okay, fine. Bayou-baby-doctor it is." The vampire frowned at the words of agreement but made no comment and raised no objections to it.
"I'm coming with you." Once again, Khalia was surprised by her own words and so were Hayley and Agnes.
"You can't." The witch told her nervously and Khalia turned her head to the witch, her eyes narrowed.
"And why the hell not?" She questioned, her voice cold and hard, sending a wave of fear through Anges but she kept her face neutral. Or at least she hoped she did. But Khalia didn't care whether the witch was scared of her or not, she would kill her all the same.
"Because the doctor doesn't like vampires." The witch replied, hoping she will take the explanation otherwise her plan will be doomed.
"Tough luck." She said, shrugging her shoulders and looked at the witch with a challenging look on her face, daring her to object.
"Fine." Anges agreed, not that she had much of a choice to begin with. She would just have to improvise her plan. Hayley smiled widely and immediately felt happier and excited to go to the doctor's appointment, in fact, she couldn't wait.

"You didn't have to come, you know." Hayley said as they followed Agnes' car to the obstetrician in the Bayou in her car. Owls hoot in the dark night and Khalia stopped and turned of her car as they reached their desitination. She then turned to Hayley and said,
"I know, but I wanted to." The two girls were smiling at each other when Agnes knocked on Hayley's window. Normally one would knock on the drivers window but for obvious reasons, she choose the werewolf's window.
"This is the doctor's office?" Hayley asked as she climbed out of the car.
Agnes smiled, saying, "Dr. Paige is only this far out because Marcel's men kept terrorizing her patients. Go! She won't bite!" Khalia snorts at her comment about the young vampire, it does sound like him. Well, the new him. Hayley nervously walks toward the clinic and sensing her nervousness Khalia took her hand as a gesture of comfort. It worked to, Hayley's heartbeat immediately began to slow down and she felt safe.
Once the two was out of earshot, Agnes calls someone on her cell phone. "Send them in now and tell them to do it quickly."
"Your baby's heart rate is perfect." The doctor said, she is giving Hayley an ultrasound and the three beings can hear the fetal heartbeat. Khalia was still holding Hayley's hand, neither of them wanting to let go. Khalia had attempted to take her hand back, but Hayley asked her not to and looking into the werewolf's pleading eyes, she couldn't say no.
"I knew it. She's a tough one, like her mom." She turned to the vampire in the room. "Right, Khalia?"
"She most certainly is, sweetheart." The immortal girl told the werewolf, a smile on her face as Dr. Paige chuckles and hands Hayley a tissue to wipe the ultrasound gel off of her abdomen, which she does. As Hayley sits up, Khalia finally let go of the werewolf's hand and Dr. Paige notices Hayley's crescent-moon shaped birthmark on her shoulder, and she smiles tightly.
"That's a unique birthmark." The doctor comments and Khalia turns to see what she was talking about and looked at the mark with curiosity but before she could ask about it, Hayley puts on her sweater and asked,
"We're pretty much done here, right?" Hayley asks and gets a text from Rebekah, which reads 'Where are you?'.
"Your blood pressure is a bit high, I've got something for it." The doctor tells her and the two girls watches as she walks away, to where Agnes is waiting in the next room. Hayley texts 'Bayou clinic with doctor. Khalia's with me.' to Rebekah. Suddenly, a wolf howls loudly, startling Hayley and Khalia. The two gets up to look out the window and sees a car's headlights approaching, which makes them both suspicious and Hayley anxious. Dr. Paige returns with her medication and Khalia narrows her eyes at the doctor.
"Ahh, you know, I'm-I'm actually not that good with pills." She nervously and the immortal girl looked over to the werewolf and gave her a reasuring smile.
"Heh, neither am I, truth be told." Dr. Paige says nervously and sets the medicine cup on the table and starts preparing something. A group of intimidating-looking men walk into the clinic and whisper something unintelligible to Agnes. Hayley turns around to see Dr. Paige preparing a syringe, and the doctor lunges at Hayley to inject her with it but Khalia speeds forward and rips out the doctors heart and dropping it to the floor. One of the men rattles the doorknob as Hayley struggles to open the window to escape. Khalia moves forward, breaks the widow with her hand and helped Hayley out.
"Run, I'll hold them off." She told the werewolf, who immediately shook her head, not liking the idea at all.
"No, I'm not leaving you." Hayley told the vampire and there was a double mean behind her words that Khalia didn't seem to notice but she smile nevertheless.
"I'll be fine." She promised and Hayley finally ran, but it was with great reluctance. When they finally get in, Hayley has already run away from the clinic and Khalia turned to them, her vampire face out, ready to attack but before she could, the men chanted unison and the next moment the Mikaelson feel to the floor unconsious, her neck snapped.

Rebekah is walking around and looking for clues as to where Hayley could be when she spots her sister's still unconsious body and she sped over to her. It only just hit her that Khalia came with Hayley to the doctor but she hasn't seen her sister, now she knows why. She looks around and sees the doctor with her heart ripped out on the floor.
She kneeled next to her sister and shook her by the shoulders, "Khalia!" She yelled in panic and suddenly, Klaus appears panic rising in him as well when he saw his sisters unconsious figure.
"Wow! You abandoned your quest for power to help out your family! Having an off day?" Rebekah asked sarcastically, fed up with his uninterested attitude towards finding Elijah. She could only take so much before she snapped.
"Who took her, Rebekah? And who hurt Khalia?" He asked calmly but that is far from what he was feeling. He wanted to rip the witches part for hurting his family.
"I don't know." She told him, her tone exsasperated.
"What do you mean, you don't know? And who killed her attackers?" Klaus bombarding his youngest sister with questions once again. Ones that she doesn't have the answers to.
"I don't know! I had an arrow in my heart. If it wasn't Hayley who killed them, and it most certainly wasn't Khalia, then-" She started, only to be cut of by a groan.
"Would you two stop your bickering, you're giving me a migrane." The dark haired Mikaelson complained as she sat up.
"You're a vampire, you don't get headaches." Klaus retorted and Khalia rolled her eyes but accepted the hand he extended to her when he walked over to her. She sees the concern and worry in his eyes and smiles slightly,
"I'm fine. Promise." She assures him and suddenly wolves howls in the distance. Klaus looks at both his sisters and raises his eyebrows.
"Lovely. Maybe her cousins will know where she is." Rebekah tells her two siblings. Klaus follows her outside, speechless and so does Khalia. When they exit the building, they see Hayley stumbling toward them, her clothes tattered and dirty. She looks dazed and exhausted as the three Mikaelsons run toward her and as soon as they were in reach of each other, Khalia and Hayley hugged each other tightly, relief flowing through both of their bodies as they held each other.
"Hayley! What happened? Tell me what happened." The Hybrid demanded and Khalia let Hayley go, moving away from the werewolf but still close enough to protect her, should any danger come around and this time she won't wait for them to act, she'll take the fight to them.
Hayley groggily answers him, "I can't remember."
The brunette vampire's eyebrows furrrowed in concern as she looked the werwolf over while Klaus anxiously examines Hayley for any wounds.
"You've completely healed. There's not a scratch on you." Klaus says and Kol's twin smiled in relief.
"One of the perks of being a werewolf, remember?" The werewolf pointed out but the Hybrid shook his head in denial.
"No, not that fast." He said fermly.
"I agree, only vampires heals that fast." Khalia have her imput and Rebekah runs over to Hayley and moves to wrap an arm around her but Hayley steps away from her and towards Khalia, giving the latter a pleading look. The brunette vampire sighs heavily but then nods. Hayley quickly takes the few steps towards her favorite Mikaelson and Khalia wrapped an arm around the werewolf's waist protectively as Hayley rested her head on her shoulder and wrapped both of her arms around Khalia's waist, a drowsy and happy smile on her lips.
"Leave her alone!" Rebekah tells Klaus and she thinks for a moment, taking into consideration Khalia's words and then says, "It's the baby. The vampire blood- Klaus' vampire blood- in your system. It can heal any wound." Khalia smiles, growing fonder of the child in Hayley's stomach by the second while Klaus turns and stares at the blonde incredulously.
"Your own child healed you." Rebekah commented and Klaus smiles at the thought as Rebekah turns the subject back to Hayley.
"Have I mentioned that I like this child more and more by the second?" The brunette vampire commented and her siblings smiled at their sister. They knew that Khalia is stubborn, but they could also see that Hayley is going to be good for her. She just has to realise it and that might take a while.
"How did you escape? You were outnumbered, unarmed? Those men were ripped to shreds!" Rebekah said and Khalia scowled as she thought about Hayley getting hurt. She was going to have a fun time killing the witches that is responsible for this attack.
"I think it was the wolf. I think it's trying to protect me." Hayley says quietly and the immortal brunette smiled at this as she relcutantly let Hayley go so that the werewolf can sit down. But she did keep an eye on the pregnant girl, just in case.
"Remind me to send it a thank you note." Khalia says and her tone is suprisingly sincere. She really was thankful, she didn't know what would have happened if the wolf didn't save or protect Hayley.
Klaus angrily points to Hayley. "The witches were supposed to protect you! When I get my hands on Sophie Deveraux-"
"Please, what I'm going to do them, will make you look like an angel." Kol's twin commented, a murderous look on her face. She was hungry for the blood of the people who hurt the pregnant werewolf. She wouldn't let one of them live to see the next sunrise.
"It wasn't Sophie. It was Agnes." Hayley corrected and Khalia rolled her eyes. She really didn't care, she'd kill them all.
"Fine! Agnes, Sophie, it's all the same to me! I'll slaughter the lot of them!" Klaus said, dramatically throwing his hands in the air.
"I'll help." Khalia's tone was dark and, well, evil. Very evil. In that moment, she looked every bit the demon that Agnes fears.
"Not if Elijah gets there first." Rebekah commented and the brunette immortal perked up at the mention of her eldest living brother.
"Elijah? Did you find him?" A streak of jealous shot through Khalia at Hayley's concerned tone but she kept her facial expression neutral with a lot of effort.
"He's been in touch, and he has a plan. All he asks is that we take care of you." The blonde told the three infront of her and Khalia smiled softly. She may fight with her siblings but she really loves them, even if they drive her nuts most of the time.
Hayley smiled at the information, "Hey, so... can we go home now? I'd really like to sleep for a few days..." The pregnant girl says and stands up, and Klaus nods with a smile. When she goes to walk, her knees buckle as she stumbles and starts to fall, but Khalia speeds over to catch her before she hits the ground and scoops her up into a bridal-carry in her arms.
"Ooh, I've got you, sweetheart. I've got you." Khalia said softly, gripping the werewolf protectively and tightly but not enough to hurt her, and Hayley wrapped her arms around the vampires neck and rested her head on Khalia's chest. The two girls felt a warmth spreading through their bodies from the close contact between the two and Hayley smiled sleepily, liking the feeling of Khalia's arms around her. Khalia liked how perfectly Hayley fit in her arms, almost as if she was made for her.
The Mikaelson trio made their way to Khalia's car, a near sleep Hayley in Khalia's protective embrace. It was quite the sight, really. The three immortal siblings, who hasn't agreed on much in the past millenia but here they are, hell bent on protecting the pregnant werewolf.
And may God have mercy on whoever is dumb enough to try and hurt Hayley again - because they most certainly won't.
