Chapter 18

The Agnihotri's

As the week went by, everyone was peacefully engrossed in their own activities in the comfort of their rooms. Suddenly, the tranquillity was interrupted by the sound of mobile phone notifications echoing in the air.

To everyone's surprise, a message popped up, notifying them that Mrunali had added them to the Family group chat.

According to Mrunali's instructions, all the members of the group were gathered at the entrance of the Arcade.

While most of them had a bored expression as they gazed at the gate, Mrunali's eyes sparkled with excitement.

Despite the presence of the sassy duo, the aloof one, the shameless individual, and the rebellious bad boy, none of them had the heart to shatter Mrunali's innocent enthusiasm. It seemed that even the most assertive personalities were powerless against Puppy's infectious joy.

"LET'S GO!" Mrunali shouted with excitement, causing everyone to hide their faces in embarrassment as people around them looked in their direction.

"She is adopted, guys. I don't know her," Shivay said, feeling embarrassed.

Mrunali pouted at her brother while Aahan glared at him. In return, Shivay raised his eyebrows, as if to say 'really.'

"Let's go inside. You guys are looking like a bunch of fools staring at the gate," Pihu said, leading the way.

After wandering around, everyone stood outside Ghost Villa. Although no one was particularly interested in ghosts, the villa looked genuinely haunted and eerie, sparking interest in Shivay, Naksh, and Mrunali.

Pihu, Janvi, and Aahan seemed indifferent, what could expect from the people who didn't even remember how many bodies they had cut? They would probably even ignore Yamraj if he appeared before them, treating him like a postman.

Janvi initially seemed unenthusiastic about the offer, but her expression changed when she noticed someone and a smirk formed on her lips. She caught Pihu's eye and gestured subtly in the direction of the person she had noticed. Pihu followed Janvi's gaze and also smirked, conveying with her eyes, "This is going to be fun bish."

"Let's go, guys," Janvi suddenly exclaimed with excitement.

"I thought you weren't into these things," Shivay asked, clearly suspicious.

"Who said I'm interested in the Haunted House? I'm more interested in watching you guys scream in horror," she replied with a sly smirk.

"Okay, then let's go," Naksh said, a note of determination in his voice as he took a step toward the Haunted house.

"Guys, I...I think you should go. I'm not interested in those things," Sidharth spoke up, his words tinged with anxiety.

"Hey Airheaded, are you afraid?" Janvi asked, a mischievous glint in her eyes, though she already knew the answer.

"WHAT! Stop talking nonsense. I'm not interested in those things, and most importantly, who would be afraid of ghosts when I'm living with a demon like you," Sidharth defended himself, a touch of bravado in his voice.

"Then let's go inside," Janvi challenged him, a big ass grin spreading across her face.

"I.. I...m....."

"Noisy," Aahan spoke up and dragged Sidharth by the back of his neck and threw him inside the ghosted villa. A blood-curdling scream echoed through the air, followed by a string of swearing from Sidharth.

Then Aahan raised eyebrows at other members which meant, "Are you going by yourself or do you me to throw you guys too?"

Without hesitation, Mrunali and Naksh hurried inside, while Pihu and Janvi strolled in at a leisurely pace, sharing a hidden amusement.

Amid the unfolding drama, Janvi's pocket began to vibrate. As she reached for her phone, a sudden wave of dread overcame her upon seeing the caller ID. Without a moment's hesitation, she swiftly rejected the call and silenced her phone before tucking it back into her pocket.

Observing her distress, Shivay approached her and inquired, "Your father?"

Janvi simply nodded, prompting Shivay to reassure her, "Don't worry, princess. We're here for you."

Janvi felt her heart racing in the presence of Shivay, her emotions swirling inside her like a tempest. As he extended his hand towards her, she instinctively reached out and clasped it, finding comfort and solace in his touch.

Shivay's gentle gesture of rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand sent shivers down her spine, and as he tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear, a warm sensation spread through her entire being. Their eyes locked in an intimate exchange, holding each other's gaze in a timeless moment that seemed to suspend reality itself.

Every movement, every glance from Shivay felt so natural, so right, that Janvi's anxiety melted away, leaving her captivated by the deep, affectionate gaze of his brown eyes.

The two of them were so deeply engrossed in each other's company that they were jolted back to reality by the sound of someone clearing their throat.

"Ahem!" They both turned towards the sound and found themselves facing Pihu, who was grinning mischievously with her hands behind her back, swaying from left to right. If anyone didn't know her, they might mistake her for an emo baby girl coded.

"What's with the shitty grin, bish?" Janvi inquired. She had stepped back from Shivay, but they were still holding hands, seemingly too comfortable to notice.

"From the depths of my heart, I really, really, really don't want to disrupt this incredibly cute romantic couple goal aesthetic moment but we standing in the haunted villa and I don't want someone to sneak up and stab you both from behind because you're too lost in each other," Pihu said playfully. Her words made Janvi blush furiously, while Shivay stifled a cough, surprised by Pihu's unexpected playfulness.

"That's not what you're thinking, bish..." Janvi found herself explaining.

"Do you really expect me to trust your words over what I can see with my own eyes? I've been waiting for ten minutes for you guys to acknowledge my presence." Janvi mentally slapped herself and cursed her bish for putting her in such an embarrassing situation.

Before Janvi could gather her thoughts to respond, Pihu unexpectedly approached Shivay, catching him off guard as they had never spoken directly before.

She motioned for him to lean down, and she murmured something in his ear. As Pihu stepped back, Shivay looked at her with surprise and admiration.

"Really?" he asked, seeking confirmation.

"What did she whisper in your ear?" Shivay chuckled at Janvi's puzzled expression.

"It's a secret," Shivay declared, playfully winking at Janvi.

"What secret? Tell me too." Janvi insisted, knowing that Pihu had a mischievous streak and was likely to embarrass her. Because of course, Janvi would do the same in place of Pihu.

"I'll tell you when we get home," Shivay said with a calm certainty.

"Is it something embarrassing about me?" Janvi asked, feeling a flutter of apprehension.

"No, not at all. It's something really sweet," Shivay reassured her with a comforting tone, and Janvi found herself believing him wholeheartedly.

Meanwhile, Naksh couldn't help but wonder about their delay. "Why did they take so long?" he asked as Pihu returned to the group.

"They got caught up in the moment," Pihu casually replied.

"By the way, where are we?" Pihu asked looking here and there.

"Narak mein," Naksh replied.

(In hell)

"Tabhi sochu ki yamraj k bhesse ki sakal kyu dikhayi deri hai.." She said looking at him.

("That's why I was wondering why buffalo buffalo of Yamraj is showing.")

"Bossy, you really compare this handsome face to buffalo?" Naksh asked in disbelief.

"But where is handsome face?" She said while looking here and there.

"Thank God, you're a girl or I would throw you out of the universe." He said while seething in anger.

"And thank God you're a boy because I can still kick you out of the universe," Pihu wiggled her eyebrows in victory.

Between their quarrelling session, Finally, after a few minutes, Janvi and Shivay reunited with the rest of the group.

"What's over there?" Janvi asked, pointing in a certain direction.

As everyone followed her gaze, Mrunali let out a terrified scream and clutched onto Aahan's arm like a koala.

"A GHOST..." she exclaimed in a panicked voice.

Pihu and Janvi tried their best to stifle their laughter.

"Not a ghost..." Aahan replied to the koala hanging on his arm. But others rolled their eyes at his short reply.

"He is Sidharth, tiny." Shivay completes Aahan's sentence. Now the duo of Bish burst into laughter.

"Why the hell, he is looking so pale and standing in a strange pose?" Mrunali exclaimed still dangling at Aahan's arms.

"He's just scared," Naksh sighed as he looked at Sidharth and gave him a hit on the back of his head.

"You look funny. Let's go," Naksh said, pushing him gently.

The atmosphere inside the villa is incredibly unsettling. Creepy and mysterious noises seem to echo from every corner, sending shivers down my spine. Every now and then, I catch sight of strange objects or figures materializing out of thin air, leaving me in a state of disbelief and fear. The entire villa is filled with a pervasive, unpleasant odor, intensifying the overwhelming sense of unease.

Among us, Mrunali and Sidharth appear to be the most affected by this sinister environment. Even though Mrunali seemed to be holding up well, Sidharth looked incredibly distressed, as if he was facing his worst nightmare.

"Are you okay, little one?" Aahan asked Mrunali as suddenly she tightly gripped his arm.

Her face turned into terrified pale and she glanced at Aahan with wide eyes.

"What happened?" Aahan concerning asked as he saw her trembling.

"S...something held my foot." She cried out as she tried to grip free her foot which only caused as to scream in pain.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Aahan exclaimed in anger with thinking twice he bent down near Mrunali's foot. Aahan tried to feel what held Mrunali's foot only to find out it was tangled into the veil.

Without a second thought, he broke the branch with a bare hand because he didn't have time to explain or find weapons. After all, Mrunali had already started panicking.

He stood up and cupped Mrunali's face and softly whispered, "It's just a veil, little one..."

He wiped out her tears gently and let her gave time to calm down. After a few seconds, she calmed down but already strained her ankle.

"Ouch!" she groaned in pain as a sudden twinge shot through her ankle. Janvi, noticing her distress, knelt down to inspect the injured foot. In the dim light, she carefully probed the area for any signs of swelling, but it was hard to discern.

"Brother, I think she might have strained her ankle," Janvi called out. "It's hard to say for sure, but I don't feel any immediate swelling. It could just be an instant reaction to the pain."

Without hesitation, Aahan swiftly scooped up Mrunali in his arms, prompting a surprised yelp from her. "Let's not take any chances," he stated firmly, beginning to walk ahead without waiting for a response.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Pihu couldn't help but stifle a laugh at Aahan's swift action, "whipped ass..." Earning herself some hidden chuckles from the rest of the group.

As they cautiously made their way through the dimly lit corridors of the haunted villa, Naksh scanned the surroundings with unease. Sensing Pihu's apprehension, he leaned in and whispered, "If you're scared, you can hold my hand, Bossy," a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Pihu shot him a sardonic look and replied, "Bold of you to assume I'm afraid. But if you want to extend your charitable gestures, take a look at Sidharth. He looks like he's about to meet his end right here."

Naksh couldn't help but chuckle at her retort. "Are you asking me to come to his rescue?" he quipped, observing Sidharth's unsteady state.

"I don't want him meeting his demise in this place," Pihu stated nonchalantly.

With a resigned sigh, Naksh swiftly supported Sidharth, preventing him from collapsing, and guided him out of the haunted house before any harm befell him in the eerie darkness.

As the group stood outside the Haunted Villa, Aahan gently settled Mrunali onto a chair and carefully examined her ankle injury, focused solely on her well-being and ignoring everything else around him.

Meanwhile, Naksh let go of half-dead Sidharth, who was struggling to regain his senses while Janvi was busy recording Sidharth's weird expression.

After coming to, Sidharth dashed towards Naksh, exclaiming, "MY SAVIOR!" The others exchanged amused glances at his melodramatic display.

He tried to hug Naksh, " Thank you so much, bro. I love you." He shouted.

Naksh shoved him out of his face, "I m married, asshole."
