Silence screams

The silence of midnight is deafening to those alone with their thoughts.

They are accompanied by fear and doubt

and while they want to scream and shout,

the devil creeps closer and tries to block God out.

They are under attack by lies and deceit,

and the light is lost in the darkness

and the gifts God gives are no longer free

to shine in His glory.

Yet the promise of a new day

overpowers whatever the night has to say.

Dawn spills into every valley,

and morning gives birth to new hope.
