Chapter 201
When His Eyes Opened
Tammy knew.
âAvery, why didnât you tell Elliot? If he finds out that these are his kidsâ¦â
âHe doesnât want kids, Tammy. If you tell this to anyone or even Elliot, we wonât be friends anymore.â
Avery said with a cold voice and her face was even colder as if she was a whole different person.
âIf this is serious, of course I wonât tell. This is your privacy and I will keep your secret.â Tammy said
anxiously, âI really donât understand Elliot. What do you think, does he have a mental problem?â
âNot unlikely.â Avery sat by the bed and articulated each word, âI only want to take care of the kids until
they grow up.â
âAvery, donât worry. I promise you I wonât tell anyone about this.â
At the Foster family mansion.
It was seven in the evening when Elliot came home.
âElliot, is Zoe okay? Why was she so careless? A doctorâs hands are the most precious body part of
them all!â Rosalie heard about Zoeâs burn and she was worried.
âItâs no big deal.â Elliot did not want his mother to worry
He sent Zoe to the hospital and saw the burn on her hands.
They were quite severe.
The skin surface was completely damaged.
âThatâs good. We need Zoe to treat Sheaâs illness!â Rosalie mumbled.
âMother, letâs not talk about this.â Elliot helped his mother up to the dining table and sat her down.
*There was a feast prepared on the table. Everyone did not eat and waited for him to come
home.
âUncle, do you remember the girl I told you about?â Cole was anxious, so he started the conversation
with Elliot, âI went to see Avery in the afternoon and saw a photo of the same girl on her phone.â .
Elliotâs eyes darkened and his movement halted.
âIâm quite certain that sheâs the same girl who came to me. The girl looks just like Avery, I canâ
t forget that! I suspect that sheâs Averyâs actual daughter.â Cole told Elliot about his speculation.
Elliot instantly put down his fork.
Henry glared at his son, âDonât make things up when youâre not sure! Also, why did you go to Avery
today? Even though your Uncle had a divorce, sheâs still your ex-Aunt! Wake up!â
Cole, âDad, I passed by Tate Industries so I went over to have a look. I wonât look for her again.
Averyâs mouth was as dangerous as poison! How poisonous!
Elliot fidgeted and stood up from the chair.
âElliot, you havenât finished your dinner! Even if Avery has a daughter, sheâs not yours! Whyâ re you so
excited?â
Rosalie held onto her sonâs arm and tried to talk him out, âYou have Zoe now, donât go back to Avery.â
At night, Elliot had trouble falling asleep.
He had not met Averyâs daughter.
He wondered what she looked like. He wondered if she was adopted or Averyâs.
He had a strong gut feeling that Avery was keeping something from him.
He must not trust everything she said.
Including how she claimed to have burned Zoe on purpose. How could he believe her?
Also, he was disgusted by Zoeâs act of recording their conversation to hand it to the bodyguard.
He hated indirect and tactful women like her.
Although he fought with Avery very often, Avery would never do silly things like this.
The next morning, he phoned his assistant with his eyes red. He said with a hoarse voice,â Find out
Averyâs current address for me.â
