Chapter 131
When His Eyes Opened
Elliotâs legs had been recovering well, and he was able to move around more freely with a walking stick
He got out of bed and walked into the closet to pick out his outfit for the day.
Most of his clothes were in dark shades and colors.
His brows furrowed as he took in the gloominess of his closet.
Elliot walked out of the closet after failing to pick out a suitable outfit, then gave Chad a call.
âChad, I need a light-colored suit.â
âOf course, Sir. Are you looking for something casual or a formal suit?â
âSomething casual.â
âRoger that. Iâll get it ready right away,â Chad said. âBy the way, the jewelry designer you asked me to
contact has finished the sketch you asked for. Iâve emailed it over to you. They can start working on it
once you approve the sketch.â
âAlright,â Elliot responded.
He hung up, then entered his study and turned on the computer.
The upcoming New Yearâs Eve was the first one that he was going to spend with Avery, and he wanted
to give her something special to commemorate it.
He clicked on Chadâs email and opened up the sketch of the custom diamond ring he had
commissioned
The ring was designed to resemble a snowflake, as Avery was like a snowflake to him- pure and
angelic.
Over at Avonsville University, Avery and Tammy were having lunch after their morning rehearsals.
âWhy did you back out of the dance performance?â Tammy asked.
â¢âDancing is too tiring. Iâll just focus on my song,â Avery answered, then glanced at her phone and
asked, âIs your boyfriend coming to the concert?â
âHe wanted to, but he wonât be able to get in. Heâs not a student here, anyway. Thereâs no way theyâd
let him in!â
Avery nodded in response.
âIs your husband coming? I heard that both of you have been stuck at the hip! Is that true? You never
reply to my texts when I ask you about it,â Tammy grumbled.
âDid Jun tell you that? When did he get so nosy? You should pressure him into focusing on his career
and making more money.â
âAll I want is to be in a lovey-dovey relationship right now! By the way, did you tell your husband about
going to graduate school abroad? I told Jun to keep it to himself, so I donât think heâs told Elliot.â
The light in Averyâs eyes dimmed.
Tammy took one look at her and found her answer.
âWhy wonât you tell him about it? Are you worried that heâll stop you from going?â
Avery took a sip of water, then said, âIâll tell him after the new year!â
âAlright! So, is he coming to the concert or not? Ask him to bring my Jun along if he is!â
âHeâs coming.â
Tammy sighed and said, âYet you wonât admit that your relationship is going well! He is ditching his
companyâs party and coming to our concert! Doesnât that tell you that he finds you more important than
work?! Jun, on the other hand, wouldnât miss the company party for the world! So, your husband wonât
have to trouble himself with my Jun.â
Avery shuddered as goosebumps appeared all over her body.
âCan you please stop saying âyour husbandâ and âmy Junâ? When did you get so cheesy?â
âIâm not wrong, am I? Elliot Foster is your husband, and Jun might not be my husband yet, but isnât it
normal for couples to give each other pet names?â
Avery ordered some food, then passed the menu back to the waiter.
âDo you think heâll go on stage and give you flowers after your performance?â Tammy asked, suddenly
looking to the nightâs concert with anticipation.
âHowâs he supposed to get up there? With his walking stick?â
Tammy sighed, then said, âWhat a pity! I was hoping to see the two of you go public with your
relationship in front of the whole college!â
âYou need to quit it with all your romantic dramas,â Avery said, shattering Tammyâs fantasy.
âWhat kind of relationship do you two have?â Tammy said with furrowed brows. âYouâre so boring!
Thereâs no fun at all!â
